How to see all of the resorts

My wife and I will be in disney world the last week of March and we have an extra day with nothing to do. We want to use this day to see all of the resorts and what they have to offer. We are not looking to pool hop, just want to see the sites. We also want to fit in down town disney as well.

My question(s) here are, what are the must see resorts? How can we get around to all the resorts? (We are staying at the all star sports resort), And we have a reservation at Sanaa for dinner so would it be better to hit down town disney during the day or catch the night life?

If you have a car, this is easy. If you don't have a car, it will be quite a challenge as the buses don't really go from resort to resort. You could hit all the monorail resorts pretty easily. You could take a bus to DTD, then hope the boat to POFQ, walk over to POR and then take the boat back to DTD or take a resort bus to a park. I think you would find yourself waiting on buses for much of the day if you didn't have a car. But it sounds like fun to visit them all.

One way is to take the bus to the MK and the boat to any of the nearby resorts. Maybe start at the WL. Then take the boat to one of the other resorts if it does that. If not go back and pick up the monorail to the monorail resorts. That gets you 4 resorts to tour.

From DTD you can take the boat to POR and tour both POR and POFQ. Then take the bus to where ever you would like to go next next.

There are many many options. I think it would be difficult to see and enjoy all in one day. Try and narrow the must see ones and then someone can give you a great game plan for those resorts.

I didn't even touch the BC and Boardwalk area which is my favorite.

Didn't answer you other question! The resorts we have enjoyed visiting most are the Poly, AKL, Wilderness Lodge. We have visited others but these are the ones that appeal to us. POFQ doesn't have much but they do have beignets in the food court. POR is a beautiful southern feel resort with great walking paths around it. Love POR.

Thanks for the info... The ones we really want to see are Animal Kingdom, Polynisian, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge and a few others that you guys are naming. Is AKL pretty far out of the way?

When we went to AKL to visit it ate most of our day. We took the bus to AK then took a bus from there to AKL. Waiting for the buses took forever. A taxi would of been a better option. Now we were doing it in the morning too. I would think in the afternoon they would have more buses running back to resort. So if you plan it better than we did you should be fine. But it is much farther out.

I love visiting other resorts, especially during the holidays. This is how I do it. Take the bus to MK...then you can walk over to the CR and check it out. Take the boat from there to WL and FtW..although FtW doesn't have all that much to offer. THen, boat back to the CR and hop on the monorail and head over to the Polynesian and the GF.
Then, monorail back to the MK...take the bus to Pop. Check it out and then walk over to AoA...both are fun resorts to check out, especially AoA!!
Bus to DHS..walk or boat to BW/S/D/YC/BC. You can do the complete loop around the lake. Then, back to DHS and hop on the AKL/Kidani bus.

Other resorts worth a look-see...POR/FQ...bus to DTD and then take the boat to these two resorts, and back again to DTD. Or bus to a park and hop on a different resort bus.

This is how I would do these resorts....bus to AK, transfer to the AKL bus. Then bus to DHS (from AKL or Kidani). Walk or boat to BW. Then, bus to MK (from BW)..boat or monorail over to the Polynesian. Boat or monorail back to MK and then boat over to WL from MK.

Wherever you are prior to your dinner at Sanaa, allot yourself enough time to get to AKL. At least an hour minimum if you are near a Park. At DTD, you should probably count on 90 minutes.

We did the monorail hotels it was nice. Others hotels are a bus ride away up to 20 minutes each hotel.

The easiest way is visit all the resorts in one day is to rent a car - as has already been suggested. I did this a few years ago, and had a great self-run tour. You can rent a car for a day, which is what I would do, and did. If you rent from National or Alamo, you can pick up and drop off directly at the Customer Car Center. In fact, they will send a free shuttle to your hotel, then when you drop off the car, they will drop you off anywhere you want in Disney, so I would plan to have them drop you off at AKL, then from there take the hotel van over to Kidani for your dinner at Sanaa.

Don't know what day your "free" day is, but sometimes Alamo has a weekend special where you can basically rent a car for around $20 per day. The specials usually come out 45 days out from your travel date so not something you can plan in advance, but you still should be able to get a decent one day rate. Definately plan to tour the resorts! It's a great way to spend a day, but beware, you will then want to go back and stay at each resort:rotfl2:!
