Has anyone ever bought tickets at Walmart?

No, this would not be my first choice for ticket options, but I was on the mouse saver news letter and I noticed that you can buy Disney tix at Walmart in Kissimee, I got a few walmart cards for xmas and have been trying to decide what I wanted to spend them on. I thought maybe I could buy my tix with them. I'm sure that the tix booth inside Walmart is probably not owned by Walmart and probably some Disney tix vendor, and therefore will not accept walmart cards, but I won't know for sure until I ask, and what better place to do that than here on the Dis. So, I guess my question is actually, has anyone bought the disney tix at walmart and used a walmart gift card? I also do a survey site that doesn't pay out in disney cards, but the walmart card is an option. Thanks

The Wally World at West Vine has been selling discounted Disney tix for years - didn't realize that another store was selling them. IIRC, its thru their travel agency/vacations desk - best thing to do is call them and ask if they take gift cards....

I would be interested to know this info too. Would be great to use up those little gift cards from returned items. Does anyone know what kind of discount there is. I'm sure it isn't great. But any kind of discount is a good thing.

My family bought our tickets at that Walmart back in 2010. We didn't use gift cards however...I would definitely call and ask!

I think the Ticketmaster machines at walmart only accept cash and debit/credit card.

I an an Ebay seller and Walmart cards go for face value and beyond... If you are looking for extra Disney money you could sell your giftcard on ebay.

It is undoubtedly a way to conveniently cash in "eBay Bucks" (HERE)
and convert those on-line dollars to easy-spending "real-world money," good at a local Walmart.

If a person really wanted to do that ASAP, paying a buck or two extra for the
convenience likely looks to be worth it.

Actually, I think it's more than that.

I saw a PBS special a while ago on behavioral economics, and they showed a live auction of a $100 bill. People were bidding in excess of $100, and there were no "eBay Bucks" or any other rewards other than the $100 bill. People are just "crazy," or "irrational," and they sometimes make decisions that don't make any economic sense (especially if they're caught up in the frenzy of a live auction and don't want to feel like a loser).

$100 bills are still around. I own a small business and just received one a couple of weeks ago from my customers. I see them pretty often.

I totally agree, eBay Bucks or not! I am a buyer/seller on eBay and have purchased all of my Disney Gift Cards on eBay at a minimum savings of 5% (usually 7% -8%). I then use my eBay Bucks to buy more cards at a savings!

Right now you can find one seller with $250 worth of cards for $289! And when you look at his history, people are buying them!!!!!

It is unfortunately a way for hackers who steal credit cards to launder that money into a longer term purpose. They steal a credit card number, pay more for a walmart card that will not be shut down or reported stolen. Now they have money for later...

I hate ebay fraud..... Just be careful when selling.

Canadians and Europeans love to buy our giftcards. Our dollar is weak, there's is not!
