Dan! I love it! For a second I thought that was your house and was going to applaud you on the bold pink choice! ;)

Here's how the morning goes

Get on bus

Dropped off on far right side of Epcot parking lot

Walk half a mile ? To the waiting area. Stage, music, water, med tent, bag check all located here. Hang out here until you decide to go to corral or until yours is called. Porta potties here.

Walk through bag check tent to otherwise. Porta potties here too (or were last year)

Start 20 min (in theory) walk to corrals. More porta potties. Skip these. Congestion

Get to the corrals. Some porta potties will be out here too. Last chance before start

Get into corral and wait.

Depending on how early you get off bus and what choices you make- you can hang in corral for 15 min or an hour. Just depends on when you move that way

The official announcement wants people in corrals by 4:30 I think this year. But last year- tonnnsss of us were flooding in with 10 min to spare! I got to C and only had 15 min before start but corral was half empty. Just took a long time to get people moving last year

Hopefully calling the corrals might help that. ?

Hope this helps

Perfect. Thank you!

Joan- I think you are the only perfect princess here? Twitter says you get a sash, a tiara and button at pick up! :) I hope your ribbon is a different color too! But loving the sash!

Thanks for the heads up. That sounds really cool. I'm not on twitter or FB.

On another note..the event has a large amount of people...and not just runners. There are so many volunteers out there to help with water, cheering, bike medics, handing out medals, etc. Just know it take time to move people into place and if we follow directions (ie. don't wait until last minute to catch the bus to Epcot) we will all get the the start. Also be patient, there will be waiting. Just chat up your new best friend beside you. Don't sweat all the small details. We have put in our training, now is the time to taper the runs/walks and visual the start line and the route. Take a few minutes to review the route and know where the water stops and med tents are. Make sure you have run in the clothes you plan to wear on race day and if not you have time to test them.

The first year there were 6000 runner and I was in corral B without any proof of time. The next year there were 10000 and it just keeps going up.

Corral F for me! A little bummed as I submitted a 10k time that I thought we at least predict me closer to a 2:45 to 3:00 race finish, but I'll make the best of it no matter where I am :)

Anyone else in corral F?? I don't have the race retreat package but would love to chat/meet any DIS friends while waiting around.

Somehow I landed in the D corral - should really be back in E as I'm about a 3 hour runner.
DD is in B
DH is back in F so I'll start with him back there..

I'm in C. Was feeling excited about my 2:44 finish (first thing I thought was "good enough for corral placement at PHM!") getting me there until I came here tonight, LOL. I'm glad so many WISHers will be there anyway, whether from pixie dust or proof of time!

As for the walk to the corrals, I have a tip from last year. I'm not sure who the rocket scientist was who thought "hey, let's put porta potties along a small road that 20,000 people are going to walk down all at the same time, then have people line up for the porta potties across the road" but that person works for Disney and apparently hasn't figured out that this may not be the best plan.

Last year I started walking to the corrals...and then stopped. Couldn't figure out what was going on, and then I realized everyone was getting stuck crossing lines of princesses waiting to pee! So if you're standing still on that walk to the corrals, GO AROUND. And if you have to pee, there are more porta potties (and some very handsome woods) at the corrals!

And that's my pro tip from a second-time princess! :rolleyes1

Cate (hoping Nemo doesn't make me lose my 11 miler this weekend)

Just curious, is anyone else in corral G or H and put an estimated finishing time of under 3 hours? I know I understand the whole proof of time thing to get moved up, but I had planned on running almost the whole thing at about 11 mm pace.

Jenn I feel your pain....I don't have proof of a better time, but I've been training at a 10:30 mm pace and I'm in G.....lets get together and just run it!!!!!

I'll be in corral F with you....and I didn't purchase the race retreat.....opps sorry I'm actually in corral G....so tired I have no idea what I'm talking about....lol

Just Google mapped the walking route from blizzard beach to CSR and I think I'm gonna do that. Park there and walk to be at the expo early. Do you think theyll tow my car though? Maybe ill just take a cab to be safe (from our good neighbor hotel)? This is stressing me out lol. Im gung ho about getting the shoes.

I figure the time difference is probably due to when those people started heading over. If they get out of the staging area early and ahead of the masses, I imagine they can get over there faster. If you're in the thick of it, it takes longer...stop and go, stop and go...it's like bumper to bumper rush hour traffic, only with tutu's and tiaras :)

It can take quite a long time, upwards of an hour. And yes they are calling the corrals, but it isn't that they are saying only corral A and B but suggesting corral A and B head over. Then the move on to C then D and so on. It is still crowded and slow going. There is just a lot of people in a small space. Give yourself time to get to your corral with plenty of time so you don't stress:).

Thanks... I'm getting so stressed out about the time. I'm planning on getting a bus at 3 from POR. If we have to be in the corrals at 4.30, I need to leave Race Retreat at 3.30. That doesn't make any sense :confused3 That will only give me 5 min at Race Retreat :confused3 What time does others with Race Retreat plan on leaving for the corrals???

To all the folks in the path of the snowstorm, stay safe and keep warm. Weather down here is averaging in the 70s to 80s.
