dinner at Be Our Guest? Or is lunch experience enough?

I am so excited about going to the Be Our Guest restaurant during our trip in October, because I am a huge Beauty and the Beast fan, but I am trying to figure out if I should plan for my family to go there for Dinner or is the lunch experience pretty much the same as the dinner experience, except that the dinner is more expensive. I really need some advice on this.

I was very happy with our lunch experience the other day. The food quality is very good as is the atmosphere. I just posted on another thread I love that they bring the food to you so there's no trays to carry, especially into those huge rooms. They use silverware and plates rather than plastic ware and paper except for the drinks which are paper cups and self-serve.

Although the food is different at lunch than dinner, at lunch there are sandwiches, salad, quiche, etc. There is a Braised Pork dish that is like a dinner. But if you can't get dinner ADRs don't get upset, you just need to set aside some time for lunch. Took use about 25 min from the time we got in line until we ordered, but 1/2 of it was inside looking at the decor. Then check out the rooms when you're done.

i was wondering the same thing. I have dinner booked but was going to try lunch as well. Not sure if I want to do both or not.

I'll tell you our experience. We had dinner ressies Dec. 28, but we were able to get into BOG on 27th for lunch. We had the Braised beef which was delicious. We were able to walk around all we wanted, enjoyed the ambiance to the fullest, and take pictures everywhere.

When leaving we decided that the lunch experience was so good that we didn't need to go for dinner (and higher prices). We cancelled our next day's dinner ressie on the spot (just outside the bridge). We also went back two days later and had lunch there again.

It was great experiences, and we didn't regret giving up our dinner ressies at all. We're going again in April and will be doing just lunches again.

Our reviews of menu offerings: (we thought lunch is better than dinner)
LUNCH:
. . . tuna nicoise salad - pretty good, but light on the olives for my taste
. . . croque monsieur sandwich - nice, but Béchamel needs more nutmeg
. . . turkey on a warm baguette - good, especially with the dijon
. . . grilled steak sandwich - tasty, but slightly tough
. . . braised pork - recommended
. . . vegetable quiche - wife liked it (real mean don't sample quiche)
DINNER:
. . . pork rack chop - the pasta out-shined the pork
. . . rotisserie rock hen - nicely done and recommended
. . . pan-seared salmon - cooked properly, but average taste
. . . grilled strip steak - good, not great, steak
. . . sautéed shrimp and scallops - were only average
. . . oven-baked ratatouille - average

We passed by there during lunch and we were saying how happy we were we had dinner reservations because the line for lunch was sooooooo long.

We went twice to lunch - end of Nov., first part of Dec. and waited 20 min first time, about 15 min. second time. I'm sure the time varies. We wouldn't even try on the week ends.

I am debating this very thing because we will be there in August. I think our plan will be to get a dinner reservation later in our week but try lunch in the beginning and see what the wait looks like.

We have a 4yr old and sit down dinners aren't always a relaxed experience. I much rather do lunch but I realize it will be August and the lunch line might be INSANE. I am OK with a 30min wait or less. Anything else, I will just keep the dinner reservation (which I will probably end up waiting longer and then being annoyed )

Thank you for asking this!! Funny bc I just posted a thread asking the same thing and then I found this! We will be going for lunch in April, but I was curious about the "feeling" you get more than the food etc...I feel like it would be more "magical" at nite! I know they are the same space but is one experience more magical than the other or would u say theyre the same?

We've not done lunch, but we did do dinner in December (and I'm having dinner there in June on a girls trip and hope to get dinner in August when DH and I go back). I hope to try lunch in August too.

The experience at dinner was a magical experience and one I cannot wait to have again. The West Wing was spectacular, the food outstanding (in our party of six we had the steak, the pork chop, the hen and the sauteed shrimp and scallops) and the service got an A+ from all of us.

So correct me if i'm wrong. You don't need reservations for lunch but might be forced to wait very long?

I tried to make reservations today but nothings available during the entire week I'm there so i'm hoping to be able to wait for a table at lunch.

Does anyone know how long the wait can get?

I have heard people waitin from 45 minutes to over 90 minutes for lunch. As for dinner, those were booked through April quite some time ago.

We got there promptly at 11 this past Sunday and waited 45 minutes to order our food. If it were just my husband and I it would have been well worth the wait as we had our 2 year old with I don't think it was worth the stress of the wait.

Waits vary at different times/day of week. See my posts #'s 4 & 7.

I did not have lunch at Be Our Guest, but DH and I had dinner there in December, and I swear it was one of the best meals of my life. The ambience is wonderful, and the food was spectacular. The wait staff was very attentive. I loved having a glass of wine while being in the Magic Kingdom!! I cannot express to anyone enough how fantastic our entire meal was. I hope to do this again soon, but DH is WDW'd out, so for our next vacation we are planning our first trip to Disneyland.

You can't go wrong trying Be Our Guest at least once for dinner. It will be an experience you won't forget.

We were not rushed 'at all' the two times we went in Nov/Dec.

We are at Disney now and will eat lunch there at least twice - the lines are not bad at all during the week. The braised pork is soooo good!

If you are a fan of Beauty and the Beast, I strongly recommend doing dinner...or both dinner and lunch. You get to meet the Beast after your meal at dinner, and I felt like dinner had "fancier"/nicer atmosphere. If you're OK with eating at an off-peak time and aren't going during an extremely busy time of year, you shouldn't end up waiting more than 30 minutes.

Really? I haven't heard any reports of waits anywhere close to 90 minutes. I know lines were extremely long during Easter (of course), and I know some people have waited between 45-50 minutes during peak times.

What time do they start waiting?

People start lining up around 9:45 or so. The restaurant opens at 10:30 and the line is cut off somewhere between 2:00-2:30 each day.
