What to do on the ship first

We will be going on our first cruise on the Dream April 21st. We got a PAT of 11-11:30. We have a 6 year old and a 8 year old. Any advice as to what to do first when we get on the ship?:cheer2:

Bring a carry on bag with swimsuits. Hit the food on 11th deck then hit the pool. Ou usually get rooms at 1:30 but you don't get luggage until sometime later. So just relax and sit by the pool. Check out the decks....explore... Have fun

Have lunch and visit the Oceaneer Club/Lab during Open House.

Enjoy your cruise!

With kids that age, my advice is to first slow down:)

I spoke with the ship doctor on the Magic a few years ago. He said the first two days are the big days for sprained ankles, wrists, etc. Kids get on and are so excited that they race around and fall.

Aside from that, grab lunch and ride the Aquaduck!

We go straight to the pool deck for lunch and swimming. Direct entry to chilling out. :D

This is mine and my husband's first Disney cruise and I was going to ask this question as well. Would you answer it the same for adults too? Pool and lunch?

I would get some food and then to the pool if the kids like swimming.

Leave plenty of time to get back to your stateroom before muster drill to avoid the rushing around as the previous poster said. My nephew tripped over the threshold in the bathroom and cut his head when he fell. (He's not normally excitable but for his first cruise everything was new and exciting and he wanted to check out the room.) They spend some time down on deck 1 gluing his forehead together after his fall. He ended up having a concussion.

All depends on what you like. Eating outside lets you take in the ship and the people, but maybe you want a sit down lunch where there aren't kids running around as much.

I plan on signing up for tastings, hopefully a lunch nearing a railing and checking out the adult areas. Also need to find out when the open house for the spa is.

We stop by guest services, book tastings and galley tour, then off to lunch! Explore the ship a bit until the state room is open, hit the state room, drop off carry ons and explore the ship some more.

we eat lunch at Cabanas, then go on the Aqua Duck/pool. We are done by one, and we go explore!

The kids like to see the lounges, the kids club. then it is time to check our our cabin!! :)

we love the early arrival time!!

We always head to whichever restaurant we're guided to (it's all good to us) followed by a stop to make sure our request to have a private table was granted. Gives us a chance to request it again if not. Then we explore the ship. If you've never been on a Disney ship it's a good time to investigate and learn the layout of the ship with fewer people on board.

We always do a sit down lunch, then go to the kids club to get their bands ( since we pre-registered online) Then I go to the spa and enter the raffle, go check out the fitness center, and go to guest services if I need to add anything since there is no line at that time. It goes really fast but thats one of my fave times on the ship. Vacation has just started and everyone is in a good mood and boat is still not full yet...

Most importantly let the fact soak in that you are on vacation on a Disney ship:cool1:

We actually go get reservations for Palo and then eat lunch. We then book tastings, do the spa open house & gift drawing and go to any DIS meets or DVC meets this trip. Time really flys until it is time for the safety drill.

I would agree that the time flies between when you get to go through the amazing big mouse head in the port and the safety drill!! We always get lunch, eat outside, and then explore the ship. It's so surreal because we all spend so much time imagining it and then it's finally here!!!! Can't wait :goodvibes
