AUGUST 3, 2013--FANTASY 7 night WESTERN

We did a snorkeling trip on Cozumel last time. I didn't actually go out much because our son wasn't much into it, but it seems like DH and DD enjoyed it

Just added our family to the Facebook Fish Extender List.

Thank you, Jham, (Jeanne) for putting this together!

Do you think I need to join Facebook to register for the Fish Extender list?

Do you think I need to join Facebook to register for the Fish Extender list?

That is up to you.

It is just a means to organize us, but I know some may not use Facebook. I noticed you've already posted your family info. So, if you like, I can put your information on this Fish Extender List Facebook document.

Michelle

Could you please add me to the Facebook page for the FE? Thanks!

lady9 and nixieh, I have added your information to the Fish Extender List on the Facebook page. The only thing I did not have was your stateroom number. I'll add it as soon as I get that from you.

Michelle

Thanks for adding us too - have PMd you my stateroom number.

Nicola

Hello everyone...just got back from a three night trip to BWV at Disney and am ready to jump into our cruise planning now!!

We are thinking (well, at least I am), that Costa Maya will be for ruins, Cozumel for Dolphin/Snorkeling and Grand Cayman for site seeing....Castaway Cay will be our day at the beach (most of us are really fair skinned and tend to burn easily, so we will need lots of sunscreen).

I signed up for the FE on facebook and just need to check with everyone else travelling with us. I am not sure yet if I am getting another actual FE for my kids since they are in the room next to us, or if they will just have to share ours. If I do get them their own, then we will give out two sets of gifts.

We got some really nice gifts when we cruised in September, but the one thing that was dissappointing was people just putting candy (ya know like halloween candy; snack sized milky ways, nestles etc) in a ziploc. It just seemed like there was no thought put into it. Now other people gave specific candy from their hometown (storebought) and it was really cool to see how it was different from where we live.

Any thoughts on this, or am I being too picky?

I am from England so was going to include a few English Cadbury chocolates in with my gifts but if people don't want it that is fine by me. This is my first FE so I was hoping it would be a fun activity, I don't really care what I am given as for me the fun will be in the giving not the receiving. Having said that I am happy to go along with whatever other people want to do.

Just read through all 9 pages. Getting really excited about the cruise (and warmer weather - 15degrees outside currently). My family will have 4 staterooms, when I get the numbers, I will let you know.

Kevin (me 37)
Carrie DW 37
Emma DD 10
Connor DS 7

Sid Dad 66
Janice Mom 66

Todd (Brother 40)
Jennifer 38
Avery 6
Savannah 8

Jeff (Brother 44)
CJ 13
Riley 10

I (Kevin) and my parents (Sid and Janice) are from Bloomsburg, PA and my two brothers live in NC, Clayton and Greensboro.

This will be my wife and mine second disney cruise, last one was 10 years ago. We will also be celebrating our 13th anniversery on the cruise.

My parents have been on 2 previous Disney Cruises, but the rest of my family will be their first time cruising.

Would like to join the facebook page and also thinking about joining the FE, just my stateroom, don't want to overload my brothers.

Your candies would be perfect!! I heard alot of people in our fe for our other cruises were not happy being given just a ziploc bag of generic candy...like the kind that everyone has in their areas.

Some of the really great candy we got on our September cruise came from different states and even countries....another person gave out a snack bag Old Bay Seasoned Potato Chips (awesome)...we had Canada chocolate and candies....another person gave out M&M's with our cruise name on them....and someone else gave out "movie boxes" of candy to bring to the theater.

These were some really great gifts...as would be yours.

The FE is all about fun...I was just asking to see what everyone thought about it. BTW...I never say no to candy.

This will be our 11th Disney cruise (PLATINUM!):cool1: It will be me, the DIS board reader, my DH, the DIS board lurker, and our son, who will be 21 this sailing (he is definitely looking forward to THIS cruise). We've been on all the other ships. The Magic and Wonder are still our favorite ships, hoping we will fall in love with the Fantasy too. :cheer2:
I'm excited to read we have another family from PA!:cool1::wave2:
We've been to all these ports before, with the exception of Costa Maya. Of all the ports we have visited, on the Mexican sailing, eastern and western Carribean, Castaway Cay is still our favorite stop.:thumbsup2:beach:

I'm not going to join you in the fish extender this time, we will be visiting that 'other park' for a few days before the cruise, and I don't think I'll have room for everything, but let me tell you, it is a very fun thing to do.

I love to read the boards, all the boards, so I will keep in touch with this thread. Lucy, Bob (DH), and Tyler (DS)

Hi!! How did you like Cozumel and Grand Cayman?? This is our first time on the western caribbean and I am wondering what the ports are like.

Hi!! How did you like Cozumel and Grand Cayman?? This is our first time on the western caribbean and I am wondering what the ports are like.

So, the good news:yay: or the bad news:rolleyes1 first: bad news: we haven't been on the Western Carribean cruise for over 10 years, and I'm sure alot has changed due to hurricanes. the good news: we did love these islands, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Never been to Costa Maya (but it is not getting great reviews on DIS boards, so it may be a ship day for me). I believe my DH and DS will be doing a Disney tour and visiting the ruins. I believe I will be visiting the laundromat that day on the ship (if I don't get lost on the ship, like I have been known to do on the Dream).:rolleyes1

The answers to your questions will be on the DISboards and DIS trip reports.:surfweb: That is how I get my advice. When we were there many, many moons ago, we took a Disney tour in GC, first my DH took the kids to swim with the stingrays and then in the afternoon we all took a tour of the island which included a turtle farm and visiting 'Hell'. It was a very nice tour and the kids were young and they enjoyed that. This year I think we will just walk around the town.

In Cozumel, we took the advice from the DISers on here and took a cab, on our own, to Mr. Sanchos (sp?) beach....definitely GREAT advice. This MAY happen again, was very impressed with this beach.

Castaway Cay? heaven on earth and still our favorite stop of all times.

We loved both islands very much and looking forward to visiting again, but with us, the Williams Family, it is more the cruising than the islands that we enjoy. Being platinum, we have enjoyed all the ships, but the Fantasy will be new to us. Our favorite ships are still the Magic and Wonder. The Dream was ok, looking for a better attitude on the Fantasy.....these ships are SO big and I do 'get lost'. I've been reading all the trip reports I can find on the Fantasy and they are really exciting me:banana: The pictures are amazing.:disrocks:

As you can see, I LOVE to chat/talk, anything Disney.:woohoo: Please, if you have any more questions about Disney cruising, just ask. I am on the DISboards daily. Lucy

Thanks so much! We really enjoy the ships too, but have only been on the Wonder and the Magic. My DH and I are hoping that we like the larger ship as much as the smaller ones. When we cruised on the Magic in September, I felt as if I finally knew where everything was..now it's a whole new ship!!

We are cruising with 14 people in all...four families within our family trip!! My brother and mother picked the ports and I picked the cruise line. We have all cruised DCL and RCCL before....I just felt that DCL is like getting a big hug while you are onboard.

Looking forward to getting to know you and everyone on this thread better over the next few months. :goodvibes

Michelle, thanks for keeping the facebook FE group updated! I will get it copied and pasted over here in the 2nd post. Welcome new cruisers! I'm glad our group is getting bigger and chattier! Hopefully things will be less crazy for me in a couple of weeks and I can start the cruise planning. My DD7 is already planning what she wants to wear so I need to get sewing. It is cold and snowy and dreary here lately so I'm longing for a tropical vacation! I'll have to suffice with a quick weekend at Disneyland next weekend.

:cool1:So Excited signed on yesterday will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary
Anyway we can get added to the lists we don't have a room number yet will probably be on deck 2.

DS Nathan (14) at time:dance3:
