I ordered a cake yesterday they took my credit card info but haven't charged my card... does that take a while sometimes or is it just a credit card hold and I pay when we get it?

Thanks

I was told they don't charge your card until the day prior (since you can cancel it 48 hours before).

They put the cake back in the box in was delivered in by the bakery. I do not think it will last very long without refrigeration, though, due to the mousse filling. Even our all-buttercream anniversary cake was sad and mushy by Day 3. However, Bell Services could keep the cake in their fridge for you and deliver it when you want it. Not super-convenient, but... Alternatively, I'd bring Tupperware and divvy the cake up into smaller boxes that will fit in the minifridge.

Just wanted to add that we got the Mickey Head cake last Jan on a friday night for dinner...only ate a few pieces brought the box back to our room and didnt even think about putting it in fridge (not that it would fit). Stayed in our room all day sat and we left on sunday. It traveled 10 hours in the car back to NC. And remained on our table for at least a few days (as we ate it every night). So I think it would be totally fine in your room for a week. Oh and it was sooooooooo good.

This was our experience with leaving a cake unrefrigerated, too. Ours was covered in fondant and had a mousse filling, and we just kept it in its box the whole week. It survived the drive back home, too.

If you are having it delivered to a restaurant it may be on your bill there. This was our experience ordering through the Boardwalk Bakery for delivery to Kouzzina.

Just one more question about delivery. I'm defiantly thinking of the boardwalk as it's the easiest way. Would they deliver it to your room or would you be called down to the food court to pick it up?
You can also, order and just pick it up at the bakery as well right? But still call through POR? Thanks.

Now, I've gotten an idea for a cake, a Bambi cake. I saw a cute cake where they made it look like grass etc...... I was just wondering what are some cute things from the movie anyone can think of to add? I found pics and will use flowers from the movie......I didn't know if anything else is known in Bambi......I saw a cute pic of whimsical looking mushrooms that are cute, but only found one picture, so wasn't sure if they were actually in the movie or not. So if anyone has any ideas besides the mushrooms and flowers that would be great.
Thanks!

Maybe I can explain it more clearly.

  • If you're staying or dining at BoardWalk Inn, call the number listed in Post #2 for BoardWalk Inn.
  • If you want to pick the cake up at BoardWalk Bakery, call the number listed in Post #2 for BoardWalk Inn.
  • If you're staying at POR and want the cake delivered there, call the number listed for POR in Post #2. The cake will either be delivered to the food court or you might be able to get them to bring it to your room.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! lol I got a little confused with which number to call depending on the circumstance. Thanks again.

Do you think it would be possible to put images all around a cake (like the one below) without fondant?
Thanks.

My theme was "Disney Memories" so I had him write Four Parks, One Family
on the cake.
It's hard to see clearly but behind the banner is a pair of yellow fondant Mickey shoes sitting on a round platform.

The screen print are done on fondant so there would be fondant on the cake. But they use buttercream icing to help stick the fondant to the cake to you could just remove it.

Now you might ask if they have a non edible version to stick pics on a cake.

Ok thank you. I know they do screen prints ontop of the cakes, but wasn't sure if they could do them on the sides or if that would be too difficult. I'll see when I call/email if they have any ideas. Thanks.

I am a first timer arriving next week and celebrating a birthday on the 9th. I have been speaking with someone from AoA about ordering a cake that accommodates peanut/treenut allergy, as well as no artificial colors or flavors. They have quoted me a price of $22 and change. Is this going to be the cake off of the shelf essentially? It seems priced even lower than the allergy cake I have heard mentioned here. Thanks for any insight.

For custom cakes I see most call two weeks out, and I see some say cakes get delivered to your room. Will they not deliver until you have your room number? We don't know the room number until the day we get there in the morning and I wanted to order a cake for that night.........will they just deliver it for pick up at the food court?
And if so, Do you just give the money to the food court, or with a delivery will they be able to just charge a CC?

I've been told all the info they need is the name on the hotel reservation. I don't know how they go about payment but I would assume they would take a cc number but charge your room. I'm sure someone will know the correct answer.

Thank you, after I thought about it, it kinda makes sense to just know your name, i'm sure they are allowed to ask, as it's normal to order a couple weeks ahead and no one knows there room number then. Hopefully they will charge my CC, as the room is listed under my mom lol. I could always ask or mention it when I order as well. Thank you for the help.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm staying at the Contemp and wanted to order the strawberries or a mini cake or something as a surprise thank you for my aunt but its under her name of course lol.

yeah lol. I'm sure it's happened before and hopefully they can charge your CC, or put it on a different bill. I'm hoping anyway, but I'm sure they will work something out.

They will put it on whatever credit card you want regardless of who the room ressie is under. They just use the ressie info for delivery.

Will they do special order cupcakes? If so what resort would be best for that. I was thinking of ordering cupcakes for the kids after their pirate cruise. I thought we could head over and have a special treat to celebrate their first trip. The both like different types of cake and would like different designs. I've seen a ton of cute Disney cupcakes online.

Im new to this thread where can I find a list of the cake options and picutres? I saw it once but I can't find it again! Thanks!
