Reservation questions = help please!

Question for all of you experience DIS people.

We are planning on two nights pre-cruise at All Star Music resort in early Feb. 2014.

1. How soon will we be able to book online?
2. Is it better to book really far out or wait until closer to travel time?
3. If we do book far in advance, we can always cancel, right?? Especially if a better deal comes along?
4. Can you buy park tickets at the resort?

Online, I think it might vary, you are supposed to be able to book like 499 days out via the phone. I know I was having a hard time booking for 2013 dates online even summer 2012 ...

You can always book FAR in advance, there is no harm ... if anything you make sure you get the room you want.

You can always cancel, if its a room only, I think you can cancel up to 10 days out, for a package booking I think its 45 or 30 days out, and you get your deposit back and everything, no penalty

Not sure if you can buy ticks at the resort, I know you can at the Gate to the park though.

I called today and made the reservations for Feb. 2014. Was only able to get preferred rooms but that is fine with me. The regular rooms would not come up for him to select.

And, he said that AAA rates would be released in Aug 2013 so I can always call then and see if the rates would go down at all.

I booked in July 2012 for April 2013 with a AAA discount, hoping for a better promo somewhere down the road.

I'm glad I booked because rack rates were increased so even with the current Spring Promo, it was best to keep the deal I originally received.

I agree with the other posts - book now, you can always adjust if a better deal comes along.
