DVC Special Events with Adventures By Disney

Oh, I DO NOT have enough points for that.

Points not Found. Abort? Retry? Reboot?

Me either I would love to do the Knights and Lights in London and Paris.

We would love to do the London/Paris one as well! :thumbsup2

When they do these DVC exclusive ABDs it would be nice if they gave a break on points and/or the cash amount. Too much to hope for?

Disney's point cost for all of these "special" trips and events are really high. You are much better off paying cash. I guess they think if they call it special and offer it to DVC, people will sign up.

Cost to general public $5689.00 per adult.
Cost to DVC using points $7670.00 per adult.

DVC@$10 valuation per point.

Do they really provide $2000.00 in extras which would make it worth it?

Exactly, that's why I think if they marketed these special DVC trips with a break on the points or the cash price it would probably encourage more people to give it a whirl.

I saw this too. Noted the ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUSLY HIGH point cost to go on one of these DVC "specials" -- yeah, no way, no how. Not that I could, being a resale buyer.

Would be nice if they offered a break on points OR even better a discount on a cash booking by a DVC member. But what wad offered is no "deal" at all.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards App please excuse any typos.

My question is how to justify going on one of these trips at all. For a family of 5 we would be looking at roughly $25,000 for $10 per point. Clearly I am not the clientele that they are marketing these trips to.

I am sure that some can afford the cost but since DVD makes all of their money selling new contracts, I get the feeling that Disney offers point use destinations so they can advertise all about the wonderful possibilities that a DVC family can experience.

"See how you can vacation when you buy direct, you can't do this buying resale".

Why else would the point cost be so high or why have restrictions and/or limited availability on RCI and DCL. :confused3

I was hoping that the London and Paris July12 - 19 DVC trip would be special and give a discount in points. Does anyone know how many points they are charging for this DVC only trip? Just curious. Sounds like it's more than the regular ABD trip to London and Paris. I was hoping they would have a special deal.

Where do these trips leave from? Orlando Airport?
Thanks,
Generally, the ABD do not include air. You are responsible for reaching the destination city. The itineraries may include airport transfers (ground) from the destination airport to the hotel used for the first night's hotel/resort.
