I know back in November when I dined here for dinner, they were going to be accepting some walk-ups.

As I am a local, my visits are usually on a whim and I'm going with my boyfriend who hasn't seen New Fantasyland and I'd really love for him to dine there.

Has there been any reports of walk-ups lately? We're going to visit Magic Kingdom on Saturday, January 26th.

All's you can do is try. I have read here on the DIS that some people have been able to get in without ADRs even during the busy holiday season. I would think that next Saturday is still low season so you may luck out that way, I guess there's really no telling until you try (so let us know if you try and what happens ). Good luck.

We were there in December and they said the most walking are taken at opening and they sat about 15 tables.

We ate there last week and were told by our server to encourage people to walk up. Her explanation was that at this early stage of opening, they expect the restaurant to meet certain goals, and that's what they set ADRs on. The restaurant is apparently exceeding them by a wide margin and therefore they are able to offer the walk-ups.

When you approach the bridge, there will be a booth to the left, which has a long line to the right for walk-ins. The left side of the booth is for checking in for ADRs.

Yes! Get there early and be patient waiting! I had a friend snag a walk-in a few days ago, but she got in the walk-in line about 45 min -1 hour before they started checking in ADRs.

Just wanted to write back about my experiences.

I got there around 3:16pm yesterday and there was only one group sitting on the rocks off to the side. I asked them and they said they wouldn't know until 3:50pm so I could come back and check then. They also stated that they were fully booked until July. I wanted to start a line for walk-ups so we could be first in line, but they wanted us to wait, so we sat on the rocks. As it got closer, the other family and I got to talking about how we weren't sure what was going on and how it was a bit disorganized. One of the hostesses finally spoke up around 3:50 and the other family and I went over and they checked us in and we got to go wait. Not sure if anyone else got in, but they didn't seem to want us to make a walk-up line.

We were lucky enough to get the same table I had gotten the last time I ate there in November in the West Wing. We both got french onion soup, which was delicious like last time. We shared the salmon with leek fondue, also delicious. We then shared a triple chocolate cupcake which was so yummy.

I'd definitely suggest arriving at least 45-60 minutes before the restaurant opens for dinner so you can be one of the first in. We ended up being seated right at 4pm and since service was so fast, we were pretty much done by 4:30 so we had to slow down a bit so that the beast could arrive so we could get a picture.

Rose Gallery wasn't open yet when we were there, which made me sad because we wanted to look in there since my boyfriend had never been before. I'm sure it opened later though.

I actually ate back in November and while I didn't sit there, it was definitely open because we were able to walk in there and take pictures. This time, the curtain was pulled, blocking it off.

We were there on Jan 9 and I was shocked at the number of groups they were letting in without ADRs. We had a 4:50 ADR and didn't get seated until 5:20. While we waited to get our buzzer I saw at least 3 other groups in the walk up
line get buzzers. It was actually sort of frustrating because there was no signage so we started out in that line and when we got to the front the CM sent us to the other line since we already had ADRs. The same thing happened to the group in front and in back of me. Then all of the walk ups got their buzzers first. Not sure how long they waited for their table, but I know we waited 30 min.

But people in front of us that didn't have ressies either left or got put on the list. It was a MVMCP night and if you had a wrist band you might get a ressie.

When I was there in December they told us they were not taking walk ups at all that they were fully booked through May...which wasn't true because that night I got an ADR in April. Interesting, may try to walk up in a few weeks.

We had that experience at Ohana twice. Very annoying!!!! Will not eat there again.... with reservations... it takes forever in line just to let them know we are there... ------------ See post #14, more recent and better experience.

When we were at 'Ohana last October there were 2 lines at the podium, one for people with reservations which moved very quickly and a separate line for walk ups.

We had reservations for 6:45 tonight and they turned away the guy in front of us saying that you can only get in if someone cancelled their reservation. Of course this was pretty late. The table behind us was empty the whole time we were there though. Not sure what was up with that.

Could be that someone did not cancel and they didn't know the table would be available. Or they had a bigger, smaller party. I have tried for ressies for a party of 2 and nothing,but if I changed it to 3 it was available. It is a $10 charge for not canceling. But.......
