We really want to dine there for lunch during our May trip but I am concerned about how our daughter (with severe autism) is going to tolerate the long, crowded line. My friend just got back from Disney and she reported that they have everyone squish together closely in the line and there is no way DD is going to tolerate that. Anyone have suggestions? Will they allow me to wait in the line while my husband takes DD somewhere else to wait? I guess all I can do is ask while we are there. I just want to eat in that restaurant so badly. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie!!!

You can order your Dh goes and gets a table or wait some where you get your rosé (RFID) go and sit and they will bring the food to you.

I have just been reading reports that people start lining up at 9 or 9:30 to get in at 10:30. That just worried me but if I am allowed to stay in the line while DH and DD wait in a less crowded area that would be fine. Thanks!

Right now bog and fantasyland is very popular it will be busy in may but as long as you know what everyone wants. You can order and they can wait off to the side and when down ordering you take your rosé and meet them and sit down and then they bring you your food.

You might not want to count on being able to go sit at a table.I've seen several people say you can't get into the dining rooms until after you've ordered.

Agree
We did not eat there, but were on 2 tours during the New Fantasyland soft opening. That was what we were told. It's always possible they might make an exception, but I don't know if they would.
I don't remember if your DD is still using a stroller as a wheelchair, but using it in there would help give you some separation from other guests.

I realize it costs more for dinner, but if you really want to eat there, the extra cost may be worth it to you. Lunch is counter service, but dinner is a full service restaurant , so you would have a time and a shorter wait.
We were told and I have heard that for dinner, you get a pager when you check in, they call you when your table is ready, so you would not be waiting in a crush of people.

I have heard from some people who did eat there that the restaurant is very noisy, so you want to take that into account also.

Josh over at easywdw.com posted in his most recent blog entry that only one person needs to be in line to order and others can go off elsewhere and you can text or call the others once the order has been placed. The people going off just have to let the person at the entrance to the bridge know that they're with somebody who's already ordered.

Only one person has to be present to place the order. You may want to take a look at the menu (below) and figure out what everyone wants. That way, one person can stand in line and order while the rest of the group does something else. Once the person placing the order completes that process, they can text/call someone from the rest of the group letting them know that its time to return to the Castle. Just notify the person guarding the bridge that someone in your group has placed an order and youre meeting up with them.

Thanks, that's good to know.

We have been trying daily to get an ADR for dinner without luck so far. We only recently made definite plans for our trip so by then everyone else made their ADR's for our dates which is the week of Memorial Day. Sue, yes she is still in her stroller but will very soon grow out of it. We do plan to use it in May. However the best solution, if we eat at bog for lunch, would be for me to wait in line while DH and DD wait someone else and I can just text them when they are ready to seat us. I just wanted to make sure that was allowed. Noise does bother her sometimes but as long as she can retreat to the stroller if she gets overwhelmed she should be fine.

We couldn't get a reservation for dinner for our last trip on Thanksigiving week, and ended up eating at BOG for lunch. I got in line first while my husband slowly walked with our special needs daughter. When I was at the door, my family joined me and we waited together inside for about 5 minutes before we placed our order (kids had a lot of fun choosing their meals on the order screen). We decided to eat at the Rose Room - it was not as dark as the West Wing Room and not as noisy as the Ballroom. We were very pleased with the whole lunch experience - for us much better than the cafeteria-type quick service: no running around with food looking for a table, almost no wait for the food to arrive once we placed an order.

We ate lunch there last week and there were many parties where one was in line to order and others joined them later so it does not seem like a problem for one of you to wait with DD in a quieter spot. Your difficulty will be once inside the foyer before the room where you order is quite small and has a lot of people in a fairly small space with a line that is divided into two lines side by side so you will have people to one side as well as in front and behind.

Dinner could be a much better option. We also sat in the rose room and it seemed like the quietest spot. We didn't have long to wait for our food and we all enjoyed the experience.
