How do you get the dessert as part of your CS?

I saw it mentioned that a CS meal includes the meal, a drink and a dessert. Are these a "meal" like at fastfood restaurants or is it a la carte? Are there dessert choices at all CS locations, and do they pack them "to go" for you? I also wonder if the drinks are standard sizes. My DH will take the largest available drinks but my kids can not drink that much, they are 10 and 12 and will be 'adults' in the DP.

Thanks.:)

At CS places, they typically have 3 dessert options. It varies of course! Most common is the carrot cake, choc cake, and you also have the fruit option. It all depends thou. Every place is different. But you always have a choice.

Drinks are typically a standard size yes. If your husband drinks a lot, and your kids not so much, wouldnt it make sense for both kids to share a drink (theyre a good size...and remember you can always ask for an extra cup) that way the extra drink can go to your hubby. Problem solved.

Most CS places have 2 or 3 dessert choices. Ask the CM what they are. If none of them appeal, most places will let you sub a bottle of water.

Most of the desserts are pre-packed in containers or wrapped in plastic. If you're planning to save them for later in the day some will travel better than others, e.g. the cookie compared to the mousse.

At some of the CS at the resorts you will have a greater variety of dessert options. Again, ask about the choices. Some will even let you choose ice cream. If you choose ice cream, your receipt will be stamped and you'll be able to come back within about an hour so you won't have melting ice cream to deal with. :)

At CS places there are usually 2 sizes of drinks. Ask for the largest size. Ask for an extra cup and your kids can share one while your DH can have the other.

We only saw one size of drink available -you could say there are two if you count the kid sized one.

I am a big drinker and all of the CS we used this past week, the drinks I was given was plenty enough for me.....

If you don't think your kids will each need their own drink, you could have them share one at the meal and for the other drink get a bottle of water to save for later in the day when someone gets thirsty.

Also, its not a guarantee, but some CS restaurants will let you sub an item for the dessert if you don't want it. They may say no, but it doesn't hurt to ask. We typically don't like or want the CS desserts, and they often let us substitute an extra bottle of water, some fruit or even a yogurt once at Pecos Bills instead of the dessert. I was able to give the yogurt to my then 18 month old as her lunch.

Unless things have changed recently, there are usually two sizes of fountain drink available at most CS locations. The regular is 20 oz (or 22 oz, I can't remember for sure) and the large is 32 oz. Some of the specialty drinks only come in one size.

Places that do not have a help yourself drink station do offer two different sizes. A regular which is the size of a medium at most fast food places and a large. Those where you help yourself only have the regular size cups. You can get refills though.
