So I have booked a trip to WDW with my girls for April 1-7. The catch is .... I made a deal with my DH that I have to lose 22 lbs. first.

I am 5'2", started at 188 lbs. I actually started the challenge this past Tuesday and I am fairly confident I will be down by 2 lbs. by Tuesday, so that will leave me with 20 to lose in just under 10 weeks.

Does this sound doable or am I just crazy???

Not crazy! :cool1:

Question - do you drink diet soda? If so - DON'T! Go cold turkey NOW. I dropped 25 lbs doing only that (switched to water) several years ago. I am your height. It took longer than 10 weeks, but at that time, it was the only change I made. :thumbsup2

That would really jump start things :goodvibes

I would say it's definitely a good goal. Although depending on your previous eating and activity level you could lose even more. With intense exercise and strict diet changes- think biggest loser- you could have similar results.

Good luck

You found me out! Yes, I drink diet sodas .... ALL DAY LONG!!! I am definitely trying to cut back on them. Going cold turkey is going to be terribly hard, but I will try! I know from past experience that it helps, just gotta make myself do it. When I'm trying to avoid eating, I tend to reach for a Diet DP, thinking that will help, but all that I've done is GAIN weight!

water water water... exercise, stick with it and push yourself.. eat CLEAN, watch portion sizes. If you do that I really think 20 lbs in 10 weeks is for sure attainable and in a safe way.

Ok - it will NOT be easy! I have been there. BUT - imagine if you could lose over 20 lbs and do nothing else? I have actually BTDT! Seriously though, cold turkey was the only way. Cutting down really will not work. Think of yourself as an addict :goodvibes & stop all artificial sweeteners immediately. I could not even watch Diet Coke commercials for awhile! Seriously. Just don't sub with sugar, that would kinda defeat the purpose.

If you do that AND excercise & watch what you eat - it will be so worth it! Imagine walking through the turnstiles @ WDW & not turning sideways!!! I was able to finally do that on my last trip. :thumbsup2

My stats were similar to yours. 25 lbs down from that alone. Another 30- 35 from eating low carb since then. Now, I am looking to reach my goal - hoping excercise will do that part. :scared:

Drink only water, teas, coffee & maybe club soda :thumbsup2 (I know, caffeine is bad - but I have to have some vices). :confused3. No sweeteners! Of any kind.

You can do it! :cool1: if I did - anyone can. I don't think anyone could be more addicted than I was!

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for you! GO - toss all of it out now. Pour it down the drain. :thumbsup2 someday - you will be so thankful you did!

And as you said, NO SWEETENERS.. It's a B%T^* but it's how you have to do it. IF you do tea or coffee, again NO cream, NO sweeteners!! Water is really, really, the best for you and it really does taste good once you get your taste buds cleansed. And it's a good idea to throw it away!!! get it out of the house!! I agree with that also.

Hi yes dump the diet soda-I don't know if you like them but Polar makes excellent seltzer flavors- even during the holidays limited holiday flavors and summer they have tropical flavors like pina colada.

I love them and they are refreshing-don't miss soda at all.

You can do this-a trip to WDW is the prize-WOOHOO! Imagine how great you will feel.

Are you posting on the journal page?

I think you can easily drop that with your stats. :thumbsup2

Now if you were me, I would say NO. I only have to lose 20lbs and let me tell you those "last pounds" are hard to drop.

Let us know how it is going OK?:hyper:
