Me and hubby are having one meal on our own without the kids while my mum babysits for us. I really want to go to EPCOT and have a meal and see IllumiNations. I was swaying towards San Angel as I've always wanted to eat there but have also always wanted to eat in Le cellier! Help! Any other ideas are welcome! BTW we are not in the dining plan. X

If you like steak then Le Cellier. If not then somewhere else. We didn't like food that much at San angel, though atmosphere and service was great. Coral reef also has good atmosphere.

My dear wife and I have enjoyed dinner together at Tutto Italia, Chefs du France and the old Bistro du Paris, we haven't tried the refurbed version, and Rose and Crown on the patio.

The best "adults only" dining in the Epcot area is at the Swan and Dolphin. Resorts They are a mere 10 minute boat ride away, or a walk of about equal duration. You can re-enter the park in plenty of time for Illuminations. If dining there, I would suggest bluezoo, Il Mulino and Shula's, in that order, unless you greatly prefer steak to Italian fare, in which case I would reverse Il Mulino and Shula's. The food at these three restaurants is orders of magnitude better than anything at Epcot other than Mssr. Paul.

If you intend to remain in the park and don't want to venture over to the Swan/Dolphin, then I would recommend Mssr. Paul as the best "adult" option, but be prepared to give CPR to your wallet. Le Cellier is a decent choice, but there is nothing particulary "adult" about it. You can take the kids there any time and feel right at home. And really, that same thing can be said about any other reamining Epcot restaurant. Nowhere are you going to find a distinct "adult" atmosphere unless you dine very late...at which point you will miss Illuminations. San Angel is not bad, but it is very dark and the tables are very, very close together. If you are looking for any sort of romantic atmosphere, you can only achieve that here if you don't mind sharing your romance with the three tables that surround you. You may also want to consider Tutto Italia. It is perfectly fine, but I have a hard time getting enthused about it given that Il Mulino is 10 minutes away by leisurely boat voyage. And as with the other Epcot choices, it won't be a particularly adult atmosphere until very late.

Inside the park, I think Monsier Paul has the best food and is the most romantic (I have not tried Nine Dragons so can't comment on that one but I have dined at every other one). You could get lucky at Monsier Paul and get one of those lovely tables for two by the windows that provide a nice view of the park. I had steak here a few weeks ago and it was delicious.

Le Cellier would be one of my last picks because it's so noisy in there. Additionally, those tables for 2 are so tight on each other that you will get to know the people dining next to you. If there's an inch in between the tables I'd be surprised.

I guess it depends on what type of food you want. If you like steak, Le Cellier is great. If you like sushi, Tokyo Dining is great. We really want to try Rose & Crown.

Rose and crown delicious

Perhaps. But I am always a bit leery of recommending R&C to someone from the UK. Just as I would shy away from recommending San Angel to a friend from Mexico or Tutto Italia to a friend from Bologna. I get the sense that they are not coming all the way over here just to try Disney's version of Fish-n-Chips or a Scotch Egg. But who knows. :confused3

(And wouldn't someone who advises on the spelling of 'advice' know to put a verb in their sentence?) ;)

Have to agree that M. Paul is probably your best bet for quality food and a very nice atmosphere if you want to dine inside the park.

And I also agree that there are better choices in the Epcot area Resorts. Shula's, Il Mulino, Flying Fish, Bluezoo. You might want to take a look at their menus.

I think Rose & Crown is OK, but would hardly put it in the same category as the above places, especially for a special 'date night'. Several friends of ours from the UK just snicker when we mention the name.
