I have been lurking for a while and have seen conflicting reports on this, so I thought I would give it a thread of its own. If it has been answered previously, please point me in the right direction.

Is it possible to complete an OBB for family members that are not on the current cruise. We are set to cruise in March 2013 and want to book for June 2014. We have family that have committed to the June 2014 date as well, so we were hoping we could book their stateroom on board at the same time that we book ours.

Is there any limitation that would prevent me from booking a room and then DW booking a separate room?

It may have changed from September, but when I booked on board I was able to book an additional stateroom (for friends who didn't sail with us) for the same sailing (which in your case will be fine since you are planning to sail together) I needed to have their full names, birthdays, and mailing address.

Awesome! I hope it hasn't changed...thank you for the quick response.

Each family (defined as a separate address on this cruise) can book 2 cabins on an upcoming cruise and can place any names they want in those cabins as long as the current cruisers are in one of them. IF there is a cabin with none of the current cruisers in it AND either party moves the onboard booking, the discount and OBC will be lost for the room of people who were not on the current cruise.

In English....if you book for yourself and your nuclear family in one room and your sister and her family (who are not on this cruise) in another room AND you actually sail on that future cruise together, you both get the benefits. If you need to change your date so that you don't cruise together, you can move and keep the benefits but your sister will lose the onboard booking benefits.

OK, I think I understand. Basically, if we are locked into the date in June 2014, then there should be no issues booking the separate rooms.

Thanks...I will update when we finally go on our cruise and return in mid - March, but if anyone else has something to add I would appreciate the input!

Correct. And you CAN move the booking, but they will lose the benefits. You can also cancel and get a refund, etc. There is no "danger" in an onboard booking.

Did you have to pay their deposit as well, or were they able to do that? I feel like I remember something about getting a voucher and then they had 10 days or something after you got off the ship to put the deposit down? Would it be for the same 10% down, or more? Thank you!
