A friend of mine paved the way for me to meet with the lady over the giftshop at the Women's Hosp (Labor and Delivery) here in town. They are VERY interested in carrying some of my folding brag books and pre-scrapped albums in the gift shop! They are even allowing me a day every other month or so to set up a couple tables outside the shop to sell my items. This is such an answer to prayer!!!! We have been having trouble making ends meet here at home but I need to stay home with my daughter because of her medical illness...this will help out with money but still allow me to create from home and only be gone a day every other month or so! My mind is on overload with ideas for albums and such! Can you hear my excitement?!?!?!...lol. Any ideas for things to make and sell will also be GREATLY appreciated!...they just need to stay under the scrapbooking umbrella...

I see of few small shadow boxes (of sorts) or small paper bag albums for new babies..
I see a shadow box w/ a place for the baby's information (length, weight, time, etc) and a place for a photo and a cute embellishment.. Maybe instead of a shadow box put them on those vinyl cavases... KWIM??

What a great idea!!!

I would definitely try the canvas or framed page idea. That would be prime for a new baby. AND, the more elaborate the paper piecings or decore on them, the more you can charge for them. . . You might also want to open an etsy shop. but please don't don't be discouraged if you don't sell sufficient right away to be of much help to your budget. It's very very difficult.

Good for you!!! I think premade albums would be a hit. I have a friend that makes scrapbooks to sell at craft shows and she does well. This is what she has discovered over the years. The small albums (like 8 by 8) sell better and are cheaper to purchase. She says she keeps it simple. She picks about three or four colors. She finds a few patterned pieces of paper that match that color scheme and creates. She uses a lot of ribbon, punches, and paper: which are cheaper supplies to purchase overall. She has discovered that while the fancy embellishments make it cute, they don't make a good profit because of the money invested in them. What she would have to charge to make a profit, most people weren't willing to pay. Plus she had to put a lot more time in the elaborate albums so she wasn't able to make as many. She can crank about 20 albums out a week that are simple but still stinking cute. What she does is similar to HL's paper studio premade albums if you have seen them. The link below is an example of one of HL's albums, there are several on the website though if you want to look. Of course, this example is not geared towards babies.;) Just an idea of how to make a cute, simple scrapbook that won't take much time or expensive supplies.

She thinks people like the blank scrapbooks because it doesn't limit you to pictures to use, because you can put any photos you want in it because the page isn't specific.

Good luck, hope this helped. Sorry I wrote so much ;)

ETA: Just found this super cute boy one too http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/8-x-8-boys-toys-pre-designed-post-bound-album-591446/

I am new to scrapbooking, but OLD to Nursing. Most of my career was in Maternity and High Risk pregnancies, so my take on this might be a little different. See if you can find out what photo packages the hospital already offers (usually through an outside company), and try to design something to coordinate with those sizes of pictures. Perhaps the hospital gives away a knitted hat or bib, so you could design a way to display those, too. Good Luck!
