Dumbo Double Dare!!

Is it weird that PPH is 1 point cheaper than VGC per night for the weekend? What's up with that?

Studio availablity right now:
Thurs, 8/29 yes
Fri, 8/30 no
Sat, 8/31 no
Sun, 9/1 no
Mon, 9/2 yes

1 bedroom still has availability for Friday night, but now sat and sun are booked (could swear it was open yesterday).
Thank you for checking. I just booked PPH for the 29th-1st and will wait list the VGC for the 1st. The VGC changes seasons so if I can get it it would only be 17 point vs 26 for the 29th.
Kathy is PPh booked up?

I just booked it on DVC points.

We're booked at VGC for a studio Fri-Mon, but we booked right at the 11 month window like the previous couple years, and as usual shortly thereafter studios were fully booked for the weekend. There are so few rooms the home resort advantage is really the only way to do the major weekends in a studio. Last I checked a GV was still available for Sat and Sun though... :thumbsup2

<------This girl is doing the Dumbo challenge! As if you couldn't figure that out by my screen name. We are splurging this trip to DL after several inexpensive trips out there I have decided to stay at the DL hotel for 6 nights and splurge as a whole on this trip!

Is anyone as excited as me to receive a Dumbo medal?

I might be bunking with a group of the princess girls, but I feel a little odd adding to their group. So I am thinking that PPH might be a viable option.

I was definitely "in" when I heard the announcement for the Double Double Dare. I signed up at the WDW Marathon Expo as soon as I could. I completed the 5K and Goofy last weekend at WDW and I will complete Tinker Bell and 5K this weekend at DLR. So excited to earn seven medals in a week.

I saw that season change point drop. I'm guessing the marathon weekend helps bump it up the points.

If I would have known I was going to be interested in the marathon, then I would have done the same. lol. As a local, I never really use my 11 month window for VGC. Ha. I might book PPH, and waitlist VGC. I wonder which would be closer to where we will need to be? Any thoughts?

If you book PPH on points they change to reservation poins and cannot be used at a DVC resort. I'm not sure if one would be closer than the other but looking at the Run Disney pamphlet VGC looks somewhat closer to the actual start line.

That's right; I forgot about that part. Hmm...decisions, decisions. PPH would probably be better than off-site, so maybe I'll just do that. Assuming I actually do the 10k; but it's sounding more and more like I'm in! :thumbsup2

Another questions, can you add the pasta party later? Or should I do that all at once?

DH and I are definitely doing this one. I have to skip Tink this year so this will be my C2C medal weekend!

I can't get the payment to go through with the Disney visa link. Anyone else having this problem? I am trying to pay with a Disney Visa so I can't figure out what is wrong!

I noticed an error on Run Disney's Page about the Pasta in the Park Party for the DDD. The pricing is more if you *have* a park ticket than if you don't. I think they got that backwards.:cool1:

But holy crow, $79 bucks for the pasta party if you already have a ticket and $109 if you don't? $79 bucks for a pasta buffet and DJ? Crazy. Even for California.

Anyone know how deferrals work? Really want to sign up but want to know just in case work issues arrise for me.

There will be a deferral deadline and a fee, they won't refund just move the fee to another race.

So if worse came to worse I could move the fee to a race at WDW? Like marathon weekend or Wine & Dine?

DH and I signed up for the DDD at the expo this past weekend :cool1: We own DVC at BLT so we won't be able to book using points until the 7 month window opens up at the end of this month. I'm not sure if we will try for VGC or PPH. It comes down to what's available for a one bedroom or studio so I'm thinking VGC may not be an option with the small amount of villas available.

Regardless, we have a room booked at the BWPP right across the street from the 30th to the 5th :thumbsup2 Its our first strip to Disneyland so we want to make the most of the time we have there. Maybe we could swing staying at the VGC for the last half of the trip once everyone else goes back home :confused3

Ok, add me to the list, I'm in for some Dumbo Double Dare action! :woohoo: That 330 dollar registration hurts though! :lmao:
