A few ADR questions

Hello! I have a question about the new website and iPhone app for making ADRs. We are not going til October and haven't booked yet but I was checking out the syste and plugging in dates just to see if I had problems. Every time I put a restaurant in that required a cc guarantee it said I had to call to make the reservation and I could not find anywhere to put my cc information in to be able to finish it online.

So my questions are these: will I be able to do the ADRs on line, last time we went I did everything on line but that was before the cc guarantee was implemented. And what about places such as CRT and HDDMR that require per payment and being on the dining plan. Can the dining plan be applied during the reservation that would take away the need to pre pay?

We are 2 separate families in 2 rooms, 10 people total but I am in charge of dining, which I actually love to plan. Thank you so much in advance for your help!!!

Linking the dining plan for the prepaid reservations is possible, and in that case they take a credit card for a guarantee. But even with the old system, linking the dining plan for prepaid reservations was spotty. The switchover to the new website seems to still be problematic.

For the prepaid ones, I would suggest calling the dining line to be sure you are just giving your card card for a hold. It would stink to think it's all lined up and then have large amounts like CRT be applied to your credit card or debit card.

Thank you so much for your reply. Maybe by the time I book the glitches will be worked out of the system, although from what I've been reading I won't hold my breath.

Things may change, but the phone App has never (to my knowledge) been able to make ADRs that require a cc number. I've tried in the past for places that I know have availability, but it always said to call.

The above is correct. The Iphone app has never been able to accept reservations where a prepayment and/or credit card hold was required. This may change at some point when they get it all rolling but right now it can't do that.

I just made a whole slew of ADRs yesterday online, most of which required a CC guarantee.

I also noticed, that the "My Disney Experience" version of the site, seems to have a button to link existing reservations, so it seems likely that should you be booking ADRs for people with separate hotel reservations, you will be able to link the reservations together, including any dining plans, and not be charged for those prepaid reservations for anyone who is on the dining plan.
I may be making incorrect assumptions, as I only have dining reservations thus far, but it seems practical for them to allow it.

You do not need to link the reservations. Just make the reservation for the number of people that will be going. The dining system doesn't care who is registered in what room. I doubt this is going to change but you never do know, it may become necessary for prepaid reservations. The kicker is that there could be persons in your party who are not staying at a Disney resort. so I can't see them changing it, as Disney wants you to be able to bring along Grandma who lives in Orlando.

True. It is neat that you can give others in your party visibility to the reservations. This can be helpful for large parties and just adds to everyiones excitement.
