Favorite Dining in WDW?

Due to circumstances beyond our control it has been a while since we've been to WDW, but may be able to plan a quick trip the end of next month.

Curious to know what are some of your favorite restaurants now, (park or resort)?

When you plan a trip, what restaurants are a "MUST" now? And any feedback on the newer restaurants or those that updated (ie. BOG, Bistro de Paris which is now called something else or even La Hacienda, etc).

Last time I went, I ate at Chef Mickey's. My daughter had a great time, and the food was great!!

The only two restaurants we have to repeat from our last trip are Sanaa and Kona Cafe.

Via Napoli is my fave restaurant. Amazing pizza. Great atmosphere and service.

WGPE (CS, market place location) is also my absolute fave. Its had consistently delicious food every time, and has also been better than a lot of TS restaurants.

Tutto Italia is very good, so is chefs de france, and teppan edo.

For best atmosphere i like trex and scifi. A lot of fun. And we also happen to like the food there.

The worst restaurants in my opinion is tonys (horrendous food), and ohana (dinner only, we love breakfast). But that's just my opinion.

You should look at menus and pictures and base your decisions on what appeals to you and your family. Good luck!

Our family really like Tepan Edo in Japan. We are excited to try some different places this year.

Via Napoli is our fav. We also like Coral Reef. Chefs and Rosecrown.
BoG was great for both lunch and dinner. We had the steak sandwich for lunch. Easily shared. Save room for dessert! Dinner we had the steak again. Cooked perfectly.
Beasts castle is amazing!

I love Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. I still crave an All American. mmmm

For atmosphere, I love SciFi Dine-In Theater. The food here is so-so.

In terms of food, I like Liberty Tree Tavern.

Yes, I'm a big Earl of Sandwich fan too, we're lucky enough to have one in a mall about 20 minutes away from my home.

As far as LTT, did you have lunch or dinner there? I absolutely love their Colony Salad at lunch, but haven't done dinner since the characters were taken away and the food was just "okay" but I think more of the emphasis was on the characters, wonder if it's changed at all since?

I am here right now and Monsieur Paul (formerly Bistro de Paris) was surprisingly good. It remains a quiet elegant restaurant and although on the Dinjng plan, it was intimate and adult. And I love that an Amuse Bouche was included.

Bluezoo remains a favorite; the only restaurant I've hit on all 3 WDW vacations this year. For fish, there is no better place. For a mixed drink, there is no better place.

We have dinner at BOG on NYE. I look forward to a new place.

The Food.....they are serious about the food here. My DH and I are filet people. He says it's the best filet he has ever had. You can taste the oak in the steak!

Always loved Jiko, (yes their filet is amazing!!) but I have to choose between there and Sanaa which we've never tried...so not sure what to do...

I would choose Sanaa.

While we love Jiko (especially for the atmosphere) -- I was somewhat disappointed with our entrees last week. The server, while wonderful, highly suggested the prawns.... and they were just so-so. Part of one was downright mushy. I didn't want to say anything - we were dining with our teenage boys and having a really nice time with them... just didn't want to spoil the mood.

Dinner for the four of us was very expensive. Two appys, four entrees, 3 glasses of wine, and 3 desserts - with tip was $350. For that I expect to be blown away - and we simply weren't

We did Sanaa last year and were very, very pleased. I kind of forgot about it for this trip, but next time will choose Sanaa over Jiko.

Akershus is an absolute must-do for our family. It is princess dining and to be perfectly honest, it kick Cinderella's Royal Table's butt. The character interaction is fantastic and I love that the photo is included in your meal purchase. You will get your photo taken with a princess (we had Belle in her beautiful yellow gown) and then 4 other princesses will come to your table. We had Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Ariel. They were all fantastic! When Sleeping Beauty found out that my grandfather had fallen ill the day before our trip and was unable to attend, she commented on how sometimes our prince's do fall ill after fighting dragons. Snow White commented on my daughter being bashful just like her friend and how Grumpy always cheers up when she makes a gooseberry pie for him. Ariel took my daughter (the youngest in the restaurant) by the hand and escorted her through the princess parade and then took her to talk to Snow White (we had told Ariel about how Snow White was our daughter's favorite and she had been too star struck to speak to her and actually only spoke to Ariel). Fantastic experience. On top of that, the food is absolutely fantastic. You will have an all-you-can-eat cold appetizer buffet with various salads, cheeses, and meats. Some are exotic and some are things you are more used to. You choose a meal from a menu. Then dessert is brought out family style and is also all-you-can-eat. All was very good.

We also really love Biergarten. It is a buffet in Germany and I have yet to find a food there I don't like. It isn't exactly healthy, but so good! The staff there has always been exceptional. Most Disney workers seem to enjoy their jobs, but these workers seemed especially happy. I love the polka band and it is a lot of fun to dance as they play. The beer and wine selection is nice and you can get a whole liter of beer if you so desire. The apple strudel and the bavarian cheesecake are not to be missed!

Sci Fi Dine In has, at least in my opinion, the best theming of any restaurant on Disney property. We love the feel that you are actually in a drive in movie late at night, even though it is noon. The food is pretty good, as well. The turtle cheesecake was a big hit with my family.



For counter service, Tangerine Cafe in Morocco is probably my favorite. It has large portions and the food is fantastic. I like Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland for his extensive menu and the adorable singing alien, Sonny Eclipse. The toppings bar also really adds a lot to your order.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon a preview day in Nov. They weren't announcing that it was open so we had no wait. We didn't try again in Dec when it was officially open. Sorry I can't help!

I have mixed feelings. The restaurant is beautiful. Really beautiful. We were seated in the music box room which is not normally used for dinner. I was glad because the other rooms were very noisy. We walked through the other dining rooms to check out the decor.

There was 3 of us. I had the pork chop, one had the salmon and one had the steak. The steak was not that good, the pork chop was decent, the salmon was nice. We got 3 different desserts too. I know I had the passion fruit and it was the favorite of the 3. The grey stuff was fun-served for the birthday girl in our party.

I thought the food was better than I had expected. The service was terrible. Although our server was very friendly it took 45 minutes after she cleared our plates to bring our bill. The music box room is a long way from the kitchen so I know she had long walks but that's a long time to wait for a bill.

I will go again. I hope the service is just growing pains. The food was pretty good for park fare. The wine was awful (we each got a different one) but I figured they don't want anyone enjoying it too much anyway!!!

Thanks for the input, although I've always loved Jiko I was really upset when they took my very favorite salad off the menu (the tomato, cucumber with the watermelon dressing). After looking at Sanaa's menu again I am leaning towards that. My dd is the only issue, she's 14 and can still be apprehensive trying new things, worst case is she'd order from the kid's menu. Anything you highly recommend at Sanaa? Another question, can you view the savannah from the restaurant? If so can you see would you recommend going during lunch hours instead of dinner?

I've been hearing lots of mixed reviews at BOG dinner and am more likely to try lunch there first before we go for the dinner. I usually try to stay away from the really new restaurants until they work the kinks out. Thanks for your input.

Disney has several places I thoroughly enjoy, but the only place I legitimately crave is Ohana. Between the unbelievable chicken and steak, the noodles, the peanut sauce, and the warm caramel on dessert I would be lying if I haven't planned an entire weekend trip around a dinner at Ohana's.

Glad to hear about Sanaa, I've been wanting to try it and made a reservation for our trip, but a little apprehensive with dd (14) as she can be a "little" unadventurous. But, I keep reading reviews and the majority have enjoyed it.

We love Flying Dish, Il Mulino, both restaurants in Italy, both restaurants in Japan, Raglan Road, Sanaa! It's fun to watch the animals at Sanaa but the savanna's not lit, or not lit much, so lunch is better, or an early dinner.

Yes definitely a big fan of both FF and Il Mulino and have been to both. Have ADRs for both Via Napoli and Sanaa to try for the first time, however our Sanaa ADR is for Sat. night (after dark), but thinking of changing it for lunch on Sunday (our check out day) so we can see the animals in the savannah. I know dd would love to take photos of the animals even from the observation areas and that won't be possible to do at night. Also contemplating on Ragland Road for lunch the day we arrive (we seem to have similar tastes LOL!)

I love dinning in San Angel Inn. The ambiance in there is just very cool!
