DDC XXVI: They all went to the DDCC and all we got was this Lousy Thread!

i can't get the site to work. I put in my last name and it says no photos found. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be e-mailing them to me soon if they haven't already.

If you search by Tim's last name you can see a lot of pictures with you in them.

Morning guys (or maybe its mourning). Back from the world and back to work now. It was a rough ride back to the airport last night on the not-so-magical express. DD6 was crying the whole way. It was breaking my heart. We had a great time. It was awesome to meet so many other dads and put some faces with the names. This was also my family's first trip down without traveling with our parents or a group of friends. It was so nice to be on our own schedule that I think we may make it a more regular practice.

It looks like things have been busy here so I'm not going to attempt to catch up on everything. I do see it looks like some others may have been inspired to try out the running thing. I have to tell you that even though my legs still hurt it was an awesome experience. Not sure when my next Disney race will be but I'm thinking the Wine and Dine half possibly in 2014. Not sure I'll be able to swing it this year. I was also inspired by the runners on Sunday and have my sights set on the possibility of the Goofy challenge in 5 years for the 25th anniversary. Need to take off some more weight though before I try for a full.

I'm pretty sure I met Tim and Barry at the race. If you don't believe me, check the results- Tim and I crossed the finish line at almost the exact same time. Then I accidentally bumped in to Tim twice after that. And there was an accidental m"hey, I know you!" meeting with Aaron in Epcot on Sunday. No photo of that one. But if Barry and/or Tim post photos, I may be in there.

Sorry we missed each other. I tried to make the meet up but the busses at POR were late. I was out there waiting at 3:30 but we didn't see a bus until 4:10. By the time we got there I had enough time to check my bag and then start the slow journey with the sea of humanity to the corrals.

That's ok, I thought you wanted to show pictures of yourself in bed. :rotfl:

i just got the e-mail with all the photos. Apparently I was unable to muster up a smile that day. My finishing photos are only notable for the guy in orange right behind me raising his arms in triumph. And why are there other people in the background of my pictures smiling at mile 12? That's way too late to be smiling. I think I'll make a decision in the next few weeks as to whether or not I'll do this next year.

Yeah there wasn't much down time at all. Maybe I'll catch you at another race.

Congrats on the trip and excitement. Hope everyone has fun planning.

Are you going to the game this weekend? Where do you normally park?

I'll definitely be at the game!!! We either park at the subway/liquor store or McDonalds. But we may have scored a pass to the reserved parking by the pro shop. We have 4 guys, a tent with walls, and a 120,000 BTU heater...so it's a warm place to hang for a cold tailgate!!! Usually get there 4 hours before the game. I'll try to remember to PM my cell to you. I leave for a work trip to San Francisco tonight and don't get back until Sat, so I will be scrambling to make sure I have everything ready to go. I do have a full tank of propane for the heater and a case of beer ready to go...gotta have your priorities;)

It's been one heck of a morning so I def need something, prob need something everyday too

Looks like a reason to plan annual January trips.
Its starting to look like that.

But keep this in mind. DW is already talking about a 2015 trip and we still haven't booked the trip for this October. Still lots of moving parts.

Congrats to DS!:thumbsup2

My DS is in 7th grade and we still have youth teams, no middle schools teams for us. We are 4-3 so far. Up and down season as we have lost to 2 teams that we should have beaten. Oh, well. We'll have to beat them later in the year.

DS is playing both. The main difference is the club teams play October to March and the middle schools run about 6 week seasons for the sports (soccer, cross country, badminton, basketball, volleyball, track, boys rugby and girls softball).

I think we have all experienced the discussions about Norm running. The only way that is going to happen is if the Yeti climbs out of the mountain and starts chasing him trying to steal his DoleWhip.:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

::yes::::yes::

I may just have to run against an imaginary nemesis. :rotfl2:

Someday, I'll figure out how to live life like CJ. It's my goal. :thumbsup2

Sitting around the resort trying to shake this. Probably head to Beaches and Cream for a cheeseburger this afternoon. Finally have to pack up tonight and drive back tomorrow morning.

Yes! Team Shiv would be heavy favorites!!!! :rotfl2:

She is in. Now, what do we wager against the other teams? She might be thinking the Goofy next year so her full will be a little slow as a handicap.

Considering Paul is already on team Tim, I think me and Paul vs Barry and crash is pretty even.

Old alliances Tim. A new race means new partnerships. Besides, I think Paul would rather run with the one with the shiv versus running against her.

Had a good time at WDW. Met a few dads. Ran a slow race but was still a 19-minute improvement over last year. No plans yet for next year.

Chris, really sorry we didn't get to meet up this year. Was looking forward to saying hi.

Someday we'll all learn how to live like CJ. Maybe he should start infomercials or seminars.:rolleyes1

Set up the speaking tour and I am in. I'll give you the 10% booking fees.

Hey guys! Back from a whirlwind DDCC/Half Marathon/Family Vacation. Work sucks - and so do Wisconsin winters. Still sorting through all of the pictures & video, but here's a nice teaser from about 6:45 Saturday morning.

I did skim through at bit and really appreciate all of the well wishes and for following the race updates on Facebook. Time to start looking forward to 3 days on the Dream in March!

I have a nurse practitioner in the family if you need a scrip.:rolleyes1

Its starting to look like that.

Wife wants to go somewhere else, but pretty sure we'll be there in August now. Just starting the planning. I would have to go solo in January due the kids being in school. It would be much harder to plan family trips.

Good luck with the October planning. That's our favorite time, but won't see it for a while (see kids in school:headache:).

:welcome: to the DISDads... where post padding is the norm!

And Perfected by Norm :lmao:

You'll have to give me a scouting report on how it is. Sorry we will miss you. You must be pumped up being so close to your trip.

Kids have been trying to ditch homework to checkout the Disney sites all night.

My mind is already there. Been trying to get some stuff done before i go. Funny thing is, our company just came off a record earnings year. 7 days in they gave 2 week furloughs to 3/4 of the office staff and they have to complete them by the end of March (I am not included in that). So my boss (who is included) has to fly out to our other company in Pennsylvania to try to get them ISO compliant. So I will be gone from Jan 25 to Feb 2nd. Then my boss will be in Penn. from the 4th to the 8th. Then he is taking one of his week long furloughs from the 11th to the 15th. I do inspections and he has to sign off on them. So for 3 weeks there will be no inspections being finalized and going to the sales people. Should be interesting as they usually start to raise concerns by the end of my week off.

im going to try to keep up over here. i tend to hang out in the pub more.
not sure why other guys dont come around on either spots. i try to talk to everyone and get to know everyone.i made alot of good friends on here. ive never gotten so many text messages from guys who i never met that ask me how things are going when they know things are not going well.heck, i was even bear hugged in epcot.:thumbsup2i can bust chops with the rest of them but i also take it as well which i love it or i wouldnt come around at all. im sure theres some that would be happy if i didnt come around at all to either place. so, with that, im off to bed! have a good night.:thumbsup2

Zerf, everyone likes you. No one wants you to not come around. I was hoping the pub would take off more than it has. Some days it does, some days it doesn't. but i will agree it is hard to keep up on all three. In the pub is usually easy. Facebook isn't too bad either. But man it is hard keeping up on here too. Weirdest thing is I get more catching up done on here during work than i do at home. And i think that is likely the same for probably half of the dads on here. :lmao:

I suppose that will mean (judging by the pic) that my family will have more Castle pics with the crane again this year.

The post-padding makes it darn near impossible to read each page.

Man Law proposal:

Post-padding is only acceptable after the current DDC thread has reached page 250. At any other time, post-padding will be frowned upon. And nobody likes to be frowned upon.

Do they have a scrip to where it will seem like I'm not on something? Because everyone always ask me what I'm on and they don't believe me when I tell them, nothing

Also since I didn't do a countdown for the march trip like I did for the Oct one, I looked it up and it's 45 days till we leave!!!

I wonder if Barry & Tim are off life support yet:lmao:
I am... but barely. :rotfl::rotfl:

It was great having you at the live podcast Mark.....oh wait...that wasn't you. It was Don Staten. :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I didn't even recognize Don. He is much taller in person than on my computer screen. :rotfl2:

Some other guy named Carl was there with me. He had some trouble with beer can bandit in his bedroom at night. :rotfl2:
:rotfl::rotfl:

Don's my stunt double. :thumbsup2

It was chaos at the start! Sorry I got the the podcast so late, would of like to of spent more time with chatting with everyone.

I have some of myself in the shower if you'd like to see them.. :smokin:

Chris if you search my name (make sure the first letter is capitalized), there are quite a few pics of us together.

That's no fun. Hope you feel better.

So you are trying to convince Paul to run next to the person with the shiv? I don't think he is that dumb. :lmao::lmao:

Not sure, but if you always "look like" you are on something, maybe if you are actually on something you'll look like your not on anything.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Wish I was going somewhere in 45 days.:(
