Highs and Lows 7th - 11th Jan

I just got back last night from my solo trip to DLP! I had an amazing time, although it's nice to be home!

Highs:

-Queue times!
When I went in the summer I didn't do a quarter of what I managed to do this time! Loads of rides were walk ons so I just went on the over and over! The longest wait I had was around 15/20 minutes for BTM and that was only because people wanted out of the pouring rain! I got so much done in such a little amount of time.

- Christmas decs
The tree was still up in the park on the first day and the garland thingies down main street were up the whole time. So pretty.

-Sequoia Lodge
Thank you so much for recommending it. it was so beautiful and cosy! The Christmas decs were still up and it just looked amazing. I loved the room design too. I called and requested a room in the Yellowstone Lodge a few months before and got it! It was so convenient and saved my short little legs miles of walking!

- Character Interaction.
Ok, so I'm 24 so I don't expect to be treated like the children (even though it's nice because I never got to go to Disneyland as a kid ) but I just had the best interaction with the characters! I accidentally bumped into Jack Sparrow and he was a blast (and so convincing!!), I stood opposite Bella Notte for the parade and no one was around because of the pouring rain so I got loads of high-fives, waves and hellos. Inventions, need I say more? It was lovely

-Meeting a fellow DISers for Inventions! Thanks Heather, I had a great time!

- Walt's.
Oh. My. God. The food was amazing. I can't praise it enough. I can't wait to go back!

-Agrabah Cafe
I love love love the themeing and the food was yummy. Best kebab meat ever.

-Dreams
I'd watched it on youtube but we didn't really watch it properly on my August trip as it was a long day and we were a bit exhausted. It was really is gorgeous. I got a bench really close to the castle and read my book for a while beforehand, I didn't even need to stand up to get a perfect view

- Vinylmation and Pins
Why did no one tell me how fun this is?! I started my collections and had so much fun trading!




Lows:

- Nothing Disney related, really.
I started to get ill the night before I left and wasn't feeling my best! I had to go to the first aid rooms a few times and lie down. They wanted me to go to hospital if I didn't improve!

-Cleaners!
I had a lie in a few days as I was feeling too ill to sleep during the night and they just knock and knock and knock until you open the door! I understand they have a job to do but it's too much.

-My mobile broke.
Not very nice when I was there all alone. I had to keep feeding the payphone or using my ipod touch and the wifi to contact people!




I had the best trip and I can't wait to go back! Trip report to follow soon

We had a similar experience with the cleaning staff at DLP. We were all trying to take a nap and they just knocked even though do no disturb sign was on the door. When I opened I said we were fine but insisted on coming in.

Welcome back, what a lovely trip it sounded - well, apart from you feeling a bit poorly but you certainly didn't let it spoil it. Did you enjoy the shops? I love any chance I get to browse these on my own. Glad you loved the SL.

Thanks I loved it! I could do what I wanted when I wanted to. I was completely selfish and I loved it I did have to call home every night though so I wasn't lonely!

The same happened in the Santa Fe too! He came in when I was in my pj's and I just sat there like a lemon!! This time I said it was ok and he just handed me some clean towels, but the room was done when I got back later on. Happened again yesterday but I was ready to check out anyway!

Thanks hun, I'm feeling rough to be honest but at least I'm back in my own bed

It really was a lovely trip oh, I really didn't. I may have slept in a few hours longer than I would have liked but I just got up and got on with it. I didn't notice so much when I got going! just had lots of paracetamols and hot chocolate! That seemed to do the trick!

I loooved the shops. I went a bit mad with vinylmations, pins, I got some new gloves and earrings. I got a Scrump doll yesterday too! I was going to get another pin but I saw her and couldn't resist!

The SL was lovely, would definitely stay there again. Though I'd love to stay in the DLH next!

I love Inventions, I first went on my birthday in August and met Goofy, Gepetto, Suzy and saw Donald and Mickey and Minnie. This time I made reservations for 6pm, just as it opened, so it was nice and quiet but there were so many characters! We met - Pinocchio, Pluto, Goofy, one of the penguins from Mary Poppins and Mickey! The food is amazing and I think the whole experience is definitely worth the money!
