Not sure why you would order water if you stay CL. They will give you as much bottled water as you would like. We practically swam in Evian our last trip. We are heading back in one week and I've heard they now also give smaller bottles for the parks, (they used to just give the larger bottles for the room).

Wow I am so happy to hear this! This means we will not have to order any groceries for the room this time! What a nice change. :goodvibes

If we are having a stroller delivered to the resort for our stay, should I let the IPO know this or would we still just pick it up at Bell Services?

Two weeks from today the car will be packed and we will be ready for our Yacht Club adventure!...
...YC GV CL here I come and I will find parking :hyper::hyper:

Yay! Have a great time and let me know how you like the YC GV CL rooms. We have one booked for April. :cool1:

Ok it's official!!!! I am no longer a lurker, we have made the final decision! We have 2rooms booked for August 25-september 1st at the Yacht Club CL. I love the beach club it is my first choice but I have to have a balcony it was truly missed on our last visit to POR. 50/50 chance with 2rooms getting balcony I just couldn't take a chance at being disappointed. Or play Rock Paper Scissors with my mom for room with the balcony ;( didn't see that working out well.
I am so excited for our trip I can not wait! This will be our first CL stay, we are celebrating my mom's 60 th bday. I think it's a great way to celebrate

You are going to love YC Club Level! We stayed there in 2010 and are heading back in a few months. Our last trip to Disney was also at POR and while I love the resort itself, I missed the balcony too. I love knowing that the balcony is guaranteed at YC. (fyi...I live about 1/2 hour from New Haven, so HELLO CT neighbor!) :)

Hi YC / BC friends! I feel like it has taken forever to get caught back up on this thread after the holidays. And, even though the chaos of the holidays is behind us, we are now back in full swing with the kids' activities. My DD13 is in the middle-school play and my DS10 does competitive gymnastics. So if I'm not chauffeuring someone, sitting in a gym, packing a snack, hounding someone about homework, doing laundry, cooking dinner, or picking something up, it is a miracle!

A while back I mentioned that I was going to surprise the kids with our April Disney trip on Christmas morning. I made a Shutterfly photo album with pictures from our last Disney trip and on the last pages I wrote something to the effect of "Remember what a great time we had?? How about we do it all again...How does April vacation sound??" Well, I thought you'd all like to hear how the big reveal went...

So, on Christmas morning after all the other gifts had been opened and the living room was a category 5 wrapping paper disaster. (Because I really do believe in Andy Rooney's quote "One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don't clean it up too quickly.") I nonchalantly said, "Oh, shoot, I forgot to put out this small gift I made for you guys." I wanted to play it cool and make it seem like it was just something inconsequential. I went to my bedroom and returned with the gift and said, "It's just something small, so don't get too excited...just something I made for you." I figured that last part would really throw them off!

So, the kids opened it up and starting flipping through the pages. Now, understand, I have a 10-year-old son with the attention span for photos of a, well....an overexcited, overtired (because he woke up at 2AM asking if he could PLEASE open gifts now), chocolate-filled boy on Christmas morning. So, I purposely put NO words in the entire album with the exception of the last few pages. About half way through the 20 page book my son looked at me and said, "Cool, Mom, thanks. I'm going to go play with my Lego Technics now." And he completely left my gift in the dust... :headache: ...all while my husband discretely video taped.

Now my daughter, who is 13, at least had the good manners to continue flipping through the pages and looking at the pictures she has no doubt seen on our computer screen a billion times. And, as she got to the last few pages, it finally dawned on her. She opened her mouth. She re-flipped through the last few pages. And, she said, "Ummm, Michael, you're going to want to come back here and look at this."

So, my prodigal son returned to the book (which my daughter had kindly flipped to where she believed he left off). And he looked at the camera and he said "I already saw this page." Gotta love the tact of the 10-year-old boy. :sad2: So, he quickly flipped through the remaining pages and the moment he realized what was going on, he gave us the best expression in Christmas-morning history. "Really, really, really??" he said in shock. "We're really going back?!? In April?!?" It was awesome and we definitely have a video we will laugh at for years to come. :rotfl2:

So, the secret's out and boy am I glad! Let the countdown begin! Thanks for letting me share! :cool1: I knew you guys would understand my excitement!

Ok so I've been lurking around here so long that I've read all 70 something pages. I have to say what an amazing group of people y'all are!!! Can't thank you enough for the great info I've gotten. We have booked a room for May 25-June 8 at BC and I can hardly wait. Now I just have to convince the family to go CL. It sounds fabulous! We stayed at Caribbean Beach Club 3 years ago and had a wonderful time, didn't expect to get back so soon or stay deluxe!! Probably our last trip for a while :( so I want to make sure we do as much as possible. I'll be traveling with DH (who's not a huge Disney fan, working on converting him though), DS 8, and my mom. Most days are park days and we will be spending three days off sight to go to Universal, June 9-11. Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but we do want to go to the beach and wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to which ones are closest. DS 8 hasn't ever been to a real beach, we live in Kansas, definitely not an ocean around here! Also wondering about favorite activities at BC that we shouldn't miss? Thanks for any advice!

I'm not sure about how the stroller delivery works, but I would say just email the IPO now and they will probably tell you how to handle it and then when you check in tell the concierge staff there too.

@ Ct Disney that is too funny! I loved the landscaping of POR, it was beautiful but the resort is just to big for me. I missed the deluxe feel and everything under one roof. We are so excited about our next ( my husband wishes I would shut up already) lol. Please let us know your thoughts about your stay when u get back! I think ninja mom sealed the CL deal for us with the details of your stay. The funny thing is we researched so much about BC CL now I don't even know what the YC lounge looks like if anyone could direct me to pics we would be. Great full

Two trips ago, we drive out to Cocoa Beach with the kiddos. We drove around and explored a bit , and then spent the day playing in the sand and doing some swimming. It was really a nice change from the parks. I believe it was about 1 1/2 hours drive? Hope this helps!

Here are a few from our trip in 2010. They aren't the best pictures, but the lounge really was very nice. I hear it's smaller than the lounges at some of the other deluxes, but we found it just right! There is a thread titled "Concierge/Club Level Information- Part IV, July 2012" on the resorts board that has a ton on good info and pictures. I wish I knew how to put the link in here for you...Maybe I'll go look up how to do that! :thumbsup2

Year, and years, and years, AND YEARS AGO we took the boys to the Space Center. (Cape Canaveral) Just south of that is Cocoa beach so on day 2 when we got done early with the space stuff we took a short drive down there and let them have at the beach. It was great and there were a couple of cheesy stores like Ron Jon's and some beachy, bay side places where we ate dinner. It was totally off the plan and we had a blast. The drive back to the WDW area took under an hour (no rush hour after dinner) and we all agreed that it was worth it.

It's fun to go have dinner down by the canal at Cocoa Beach and watch the Disney Dream and Fantasy set sail. They sail on Saturdays, Sundays and Thursdays. Everybody waves to the ship! Lots of fun! It's a 45 minute drive from the Airport.

Yeah!! We have set our dates for December 14-22, 2013 at BC GV!! Hoping to convince my sister to come with (who has never been) and celebrate her 35th birthday!!!

Two weeks from today the car will be packed and we will be ready for our Yacht Club adventure!
I'm so excited its almost here but know I will be so sad once it's come and gone. I have done so much planning for this vacation and have spent more time on this website that my dh refuses to speak Disney with me!
BUT, I have the best plan for our family - anyone interested in hearing?

offer. We have stayed CL at Poly but so excited to try something new! Explore YC and perhaps a lunch at Beaches and Cream??
Dinner - Captains Grille and
afterwards perhaps a walk into
Epcot

Sunday 27 - Breakfast in the lounge, followed by a morning swim at SAB - weather permitting. Head over to MK for a Noon

Barber Shop appointment for DS5 - he LOVES to get his haircut and what a great place to do it! I also discovered via these boards the ability to have our silhouettes done and so thats a must too! Dinner in MK at BOG at 6 and then extra
magic hours.

Monday 28 early rising for 8am extra hour at AK and then followed by breakfast at Tusker house at 9:45 afterwards back to YC for
relaxation time

Back to MK for 3:30 Pirates League visit and then to the CR for the Pirates and Pals Wishes Voyage.

Tuesday - Sea World followed by a Kids Nite Out sitter coming at 6 so
the adults could enjoy a dinner
with a good friend who happens to be a CM and his wife at Yachtsman

Weds - HS, Epcot...no set plans DH's birthday so 8pm Illuminations cruise out of the YC

Thurs - HS, Epcot...no set plans except dinner at 5:45 50sPTC a first for us

Friday - breakfast at Captains Grill, Noon - DH and DD11 will snorkel the Nemo tank in Epcot followed
at 4 DH will scuba dive the nemo

Sat - check out day :(

I invite comments and suggestions - am completely excited and
thrilled to be doing new things this trip. Thanks to everyone who has given advice on my countless questions - YC GV CL here I come and I will find parking :hyper::hyper:
how about trying Cape May Cafe breakfast. It's such a cheery setting and is very relaxed for character dining. No fast paced parades or shouting/singing. Very leisurely. Delicious food as well. We never miss it when we stay there!

@ct Disney thank you so much for the pics. We just looked threw the CL lounge pics they have some great pics of BC's lounge but the funny think is no pics of YC CL. That's ok I will find them some where. I haven't had a chance to go on all ears

I stayed at the BC last October with sons and grandsons....One of the boys was unable to go, so....DS, DDIL and DGS (13) will be accompanying me to the BC from Feb 28 thru March 6....48 days from NOW!!!!! This will be their first time ever to Disney World!!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!! Booked a GV room and am hoping to get a full balcony and a daybed...(I'm sure DGS won't want to bunk with Grama!!!) ADR's at CG (bkfst), SAI, R&C, MM, Boma and the Biergarten... We're celebrating my retirement (just left nursing after 30+ years) and DDIL's birthday....Please add us to the list! From Tulsa to WDW...yipeeeee!!!:cheer2::cheer2::jumping1:

Thanks for the recommendation! We have done the Cape May Breakfast on previous trips but never Tusker house which is why we chose Tusker House on this one. I agree, we really do like Cape May for breakfast, each time we go the characters tend to spend more time and interact more with the kids.

We're packed and waiting for 6 AM to arrive tomorrow morning to head down to Ft. Lauderdale. Cannot wait to get on the Celebrity Eclipse!!! Hope everybody at WDW has a wonderful time!!! I'll be back in the lobby on 1/27.

Have a great time Teena!!

We are staying at the YC for the first time as part of a split stay. Is there a place in the YC where my family will be able to get a QS breakfast (ie. eggs, Mickey waffles, etc...).
Thanks for your input!

No waffles but over at the Marketplace they have breakfast sandwiches and platters, fruit, cereals, yogurt parfaits, french toast strips, etc.
