quietgirl said, "So, we were in the MK today, and decided to have BoG for lunch again. We got in line about 11:30 today, and it took us about 20 min to get in. We used the automated system to order and it was really easy, but there was someone to help us too."



"Today I had the steak sandwich..."

"This was VERY good, although a little dry. I came up with the idea at the end to use some of DGF's onion soup as a dip, and that really enhanced the flavor. I thought the fries were nice and fresh, good and crispy. I think I liked the pork I had the other day better, but this is a slightly lighter option."

She said, "For dinner Tues. night, we decided to head down to the food court since it was so good the night before."

"And I went with ham..."

"This was really good, and had a pineapple glaze that came on the side. I'm not a huge pineapple fan, but this was good, a little sweet. The ham itself was fantastic though. I also enjoyed the corn and potatoes, and the cornbread was great- again, much better than I expected from a food court."

Oh my goodness- we didnt make it to the wave, instead we decided to eat at boatwrights here at POR...very possibly the BEST meal of the trip... Whodathunk it?!?!

She and her DH were at Epcot last night and had dinner at...

Quattro Formaggi - Four cheese pizza with mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone



Amanda said, "Everything was excellent except my salad. The chicken was cold and pre-cooked (not what I was expecting for $22). I should have gotten pizza but I wanted something light."




Then for a snack, they got this treat from Karamell Kuche...

Their meal was served family-style, and began with...

Harvest-inspired Farmer's Salad


Joyce said, "First we were brought salad with eggs and bacon and a light Southwestern ranch dressing. I had two helpings...it was really good!"

"We then got the main platters. Turkey, tilapia, dressing, smashed potatoes, beef. I thought the turkey and beef were the best. The fish had an aggressive spicing on it that I didn't care for."

"Best of all, they brought the kids' platter too, and the "kids" at my table were in heaven! David had seconds on the sweet potato fries and mac and cheese. I haven't seen him eat this much...ever!"




"We also got a very tasty berry upside down cake...the picture did not come out well."

"We all agreed this was our favorite meal of the trip! The characters were cute, the food was good. And we had the BEST server ever!!! Patrick told us terrible Disney jokes, teased Katy about stealing the bacon from the salad, and just was a blast. We laughed as much as we ate."

DDW said, "Everything tasted great. The fish was cooked to order, which took 10 minutes but it was worth the wait (and they give you a pager so you don't have to stand around)."

Robin said, "I couldn't wait to try this restaurant and I loved it. I chose the quiche, which after a little salt, it tasted very good. The crust was flaky and buttery and the veggie filling was very nice. The salad was ok, but I'm pretty picky about salads."

Vegetable Quiche with Mushrooms, Zucchini, Bell Peppers, Onion and Chives served with a Lettuce Salad with a Champagne Vinaigrette






"Tim had the turkey sandwich and we both thought it was very good. The mustard sauce had a great flavor and made the sandwich. The fries were just fries."

Carved Turkey Sandwich served on a warm baguette with Dijon mayonnaise and Pomme Frites






"Alex had the Croque Monsieur sandwich and said it was pretty good. He doesn't care for whole grain bread, so this might have been the issue. It looked pretty good to me."

"Desserts are what were the standouts for me. I had the chocolate cupcake and thought it was perfect. Tender cake, creamy filling and perfect icing. It made me... "

Robin said, "Tonight we tried The Wave for the first time. I really wish we would have tried it sooner, it was great!"

"We started with a virgin strawberry daiquiri and a virgin pina colada...perfection!"

"Alex and I always get something like these when they are allowed as the non-alcoholic beverage on the DDP."

Robin said, "I chose the pork tenderloin. It was delicious and perfectly cooked."

"Tim and Alex both had the beef tenderloin. The three-potato hash had purple, sweet, and Yukon golds.
Both said they loved it."





Then Robin said, "The service was excellent and very knowledgeable about every menu item. For dessert, they offer 4 different trios."

"Alex and I chose the Creamy Indulgence option, and Tim the American Flavors. The American is the one on top."

"Mississippi Mud Pie, Banana cake, and apple cake...all were really good. The creamy version, however, was the true winner. It was absolutely wonderful. New York cheesecake with apple compote, butterscotch creme brulee, and chocolate mousse. Oh my goodness delicious!!!!! We will be going back!"

Amanda said, "We had breakfast at Gaston's Tavern this morning. We shared the cinnamon roll. It was tasty, not overly sweet with a nice maple flavored icing."

"Then lunch was at Pecos Bill's. We were originally supposed to go to Coral Reef today, but decided to cancel.
DH got the barbecue pork sandwich with fries."

"I had the taco salad. Love all the fixings. It was good. The shell had a lot of flavor."

"We also shared a side of chili cheese fries."

Then later Amanda had this snack...

Amanda said, "OMG, this thing was delicious! The head is red velvet cake, the ears are marshmallow, and it's covered in white chocolate. It exceeded my expectations."





Amanda and her DH had dinner tonight back at their resort's Signature restaurant...

Amanda said, "We started with the cheese plate. The smoked blue cheese was my favorite.
DH enjoyed the sheep's milk cheese."

Chermoula-roasted Nigerian Prawns - English pea Nage and saffron rice with orange and olive salad


"I had the prawns with the heads on. The heads were somewhat intimidating. The meat of the prawns was really good.
It reminded me a bit of lobster."





And last Amanda said, "We shared this for dessert..."

I have one last update to post this morning that was sent to us last night by quietgirl.

She had lunch yesterday at Magic Kingdom's...

She said, "We sat upstairs overlooking the Rapunzel bathroom construction.
The windows were covered, but it was easily pushed aside."

"I actually was beginning to feel like a construction site photographer, since earlier in the day I had taken pics of the work on the dwarves mine train..."

"But back to CHH...

We ate lunch about 11:15, just as a small storm came up. I got the chicken breast nuggets..."

And DGF got the tuna sandwich, but substituted fries for the chips...

"And we both got the chocolate cake."

"This is an old standby for us, and we enjoyed it as always. I was a little disappointed though, 'cause they no longer have packs of ranch dressing out. I have always used that for my chicken. I asked 2 different people that worked there, and was sent to 2 different places... Never found any ranch I just used BBQ sauce."





"We stopped by the Main Street Confectionery on the way out for a break,

"And got a free Rice Krispy treat sample!!"

"Score!! When did they start that??"





"And in case you're wondering, Christmas decorations are still up at the MK..."

Robin said, "Off the topic of food for a minute...but the new entrance/ticket devices are a HUGE improvement over the old ones that you insert your tickets into. With these wonderful devices, you hold your "Key to the Kingdom" card up to the Mickey head, place you finger in the pad on the right and when it turns green, you're in. There are generally 2 sets per line.
This is GREAT!"

Only for the truly adventurous!




Joyce said, "David had their version of Jambalaya...the server said it was really spicy, but David thought it just had a nice heat. He liked this."

RUMBLE in the JUNGLE TURKEY WRAP
Shaved turkey breast, Roma tomatoes, crisp bacon and Romaine lettuce tossed with Caesar dressing,
wrapped in a flour tortilla and served with chips and coleslaw.


"Katy had the HUGE turkey wrap. She enjoyed it, but could only finish half."

CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN
Breaded chicken breast fried golden brown and served with red skinned garlic mashed potatoes and country gravy.


"This was my chicken. It was fine, but I am just not a fan of Rainforest...it's all about the upsell. (And our server literally said each of our entrees was her favorite!!! ) Disney restaurants seem more about the patron, if that makes any sense."



"We had a fantastic time and we all agreed staying onsite with a dining plan was so much fun!! Thanks for letting me post my often crummy pics, Barb. I enjoyed being a part of the live report community!"
