Christmas 2013 at the Wilderness Lodge!

After a whirlwind honeymoon at Disney's Contemporary Resort this past July, my husband and I planning our next big trip.

We will be arriving at Disney's Wilderness Lodge December 2nd, 2013 to spend a much needed vacation before we start to expand our family! It will be a very sweet time for us, our last big hoorah before we try to become parents!

Christmas at Disney is my absolute favorite! I have stayed at the WL only once, and I was very little. When speaking with my parents about it, the biggest memory they have is when we went biking on the trails and I hit a rock and went head first over the handle bars of my bike. I was apparently okay, but needless to say, I only remember the bike ride, not the wipe out!

If anyone wants to add pictures or advice for staying at the WL, please share! We are just so excited. It will be a very big point in our lives and I cannot wait to share it with him!

You will love the WL, especially at Christmas time . Here some photos I took on our December 2010 trip. We didn't stay at the WL, but we ate at Artist Point (which, BTW, is an awesome restaurant.....their filet and salmon are out of this world ).

Congratulations on your wedding! You'll love Wilderness Lodge. We've stayed there a few times. In my opinion it is one of the best themed resorts on Disney property.

Make sure you build in time to just hang out at the lodge and enjoy the resort, we usually stay there in June but went last Christmas also and it was even better with all of the decorations

We love WL too and will be staying there for our December trip also. I can't wait to sit next to the roaring fireplace and see all the Christmas decorations. I'm not sure if they still offer it, but I've read about a Wilderness Lodge tour that sounds pretty neat. Its one of those overlooked attractions that sounds pretty interesting if you want to try something different.

That would be something really cool to look into! If you find out that they still offer that, can you let me know? When we go to Disney on our own, we find we spend more time at the resorts than when we're with friends and family. I absolutely love Christmas time so I can't wait to spend it at the Wilderness Lodge!

Thanks!! DH actually changed the resort on us. Not sure how I feel about it but whatever gets him excited for Disney I'll go with! Haha!

We will be checking into WLV on dec 1, am so ready, can't hardly wait that long, but gonna have to. We have stayed at WL at Christmas time and it is beautiful. We love it. Hope you have a wonderful time.

OP- we are doing the same thing!! We got married in September 2012. We are planning on staying at WL Nov 29-Dec 8 for our last big trip (just the two of us) before starting a family as well!!

Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations went up in 2012? We are thinking of booking a bounce back when we are there in February and we want to try to catch the Xmas decorations in 2013. We are looking at the week of Nov 17-23rd, 2013.

I would look to see what the MNSSHP ends because that is probably when they start putting up the Christmas decor. I believe they have it up for Thanksgiving.

But MVMCP starts in November. Like the 9th. Don't they have it all Christmas-fied by then? Lol I'm going first week in Dec so want to make sure I'm not going to miss the decorations by a week because ill switch dates!
