Surprised the kids, wife, and my readers w/ a 2 week trip to AoA!(*NEW* 11-7)

Those photopass pics are adorable! They turned out good. :goodvibes

I can't wait to see the new Fantasyland all done. It is just going to look crazy different!

Looks like we both posted the hidden Mickey in the Buzz line!

The People Mover is one of my favorites...a great way to relax and people watch!

Your Dumbo PP pictures are great! I've always heard it pays off to stop and have a friendly chat with CMs. The pictures of Parker and Noelle hugging and holding hands are too adorable. Those will be great when they're older and not feeling the sibling hugs anymore :rotfl:

Candi looks like she's in the zone on Buzz, hahaha! I don't think Parker stood a chance with that game face! Love Princess Noelle waving to all her subjects- again, that'll be priceless a few years down the road.

As usual, great update and pictures. Can't wait to hear more! :cool1:
also good pictures to add to a wedding slide show.:thumbsup2

she is always in the zone on those games, trying to beat me. lol
but she is the only one in the family to ever get the 999,999 score so it must work for her.

parker is funny on thoes games he takes about 10 seconds to line up a shot then shoots sometimes we turn the vehicle before he even fires then takes careful aim to do it all over again.:rotfl:

Those Photopass pics at Storybook Circus came out great! I have never seen one there, but it seems like a great place for pictures.

Love the pics of Parker & Noelle holding hands. :lovestruc So sweet! Enjoy it while it lasts, I guess. :rotfl:

Another great spot to eat in Pinocchio's is upstairs! Eating by the window looking over Small World is great too. Really sad that no one was trying to talk to the kid crying for his dad. Although, maybe he had been doing that all day every day for the whole trip and they were just in "ignore it and it'll stop eventually" mode. :lmao: I can see how it would be really bothersome when you're trying to enjoy your lunch though!
i was glad we saw them there and stopped it was one of the only times i saw someone there, hope they are there more often now that the area is mostly open.

didnt know there was another level above that one...are there windows up there too that look at small world?

very true dont know the situation so maybe there was no calming him down.:confused3

Woot wew!!!!!! another update HOORAY!!!!!! Noelle is so precious!! I love that she was waving away on the TTA thats awesome!
you ask and you shall recieve.:thumbsup2

we were watching the disney parade again the other night from christmas and she waved at all the characters in it again like they were waving right to her.pixiedust:

oh, pictures of the kids like that make me so sad things weren't digital like they are now. I just don't have very many actually scanned to be able to look at as heaven knows they could use some of those reminders now!

I think it's so funny, I didn't even know Pinocchio's overlooked Small World until 1-2 months ago when someone else had it in their TR. Since then I've seen it in a good 2-3 others! The food reviews are consistent though.Super uncool grandma and siblings, poor little guy!

Then again some kids ramp up more if you do try to talk to them so maybe the ignoring was deliberate. I know if Eric gets upset you really have to completely redirect him, logic and soothing are absolutely lost and irrelevant, you literally have to drag him out of his mood by diverting his focus to something totally different.

Which could easily have been done looking at the boats!

Adorable pics and the ones on Buzz are a riot!
i know what you mean my parents have a ton of photo books from growing up but no one has taken the time to scan them in...digital now a days are just so easy to do and share.

i always knew the restraunt was there but never thought about eating there till our last trip and then we didnt think the food sounded great so we skipped it but not this one.

very true not sure what was going on but thinking it was just more the family was tired and didnt want to try.

Buzz is so random! I either get a really kick butt score or I can't even break 100k. TSM is more accurate. I'm always in the same range on that one.

What a lovely view of the soon to be mine coaster!
im usually at least in the mid 150,000 on buzz, sometimes i hit over 300,000 but never got the coveted 999,999 like candi has she has that stare down glare to shoot those zurgs.

i know cant wait for it to be done, hope it isnt a early 2014 then summer 2014 then holiday 2014...we are going in 2014 just not sure when...and would hate to just miss it like we missed the soft openings this time.

Nice little spin through fantasyland. I am looking forward to going back and see the detail inthe new Fantasyland. Last time even though it was open, I just did not have time to look at the details.

Great job handling the nap and the rides. :thumbsup2

Have not eaten in Pinocchios yet. Walked through at Halloween but have yet to eat there much less look at IaSW from there.

Something for the "yet to do list". :)
if there are details to be found i will count on you to get them.:thumbsup2

funny thing is she sleeps with all that noise there but at home you open the fridge while she is napping and she wakes up. :rotfl:

i think you would enjoy it nice spot for a bite to eat.

I love your trip reports because you always have an example of how families act. I can't believe the grandma just sat there!

The pictures of Parker and Noelle together are priceless.

thanks, just try to tell it like i see, and i usually dont forget much on the interaction front...80% of the stories are just from memory when i look at the pictures...parker is the same way we were looking at a park map the other night and he traced out what route we took to rides and so forth during the day and knew what we did in what order.

Man, Parker is one photogenic kid. :thumbsup2

I like that spot overlooking IASW a lot. It's my favorite way to enjoy the ride. :rotfl:

Hard to believe no one would distract or re-direct that kid at the table. Bet you wish you had your taser with you.

I don't think I could have listened to "Daddy" for a full five minutes. Reminds me of a flight home in June where some kid 3 rows ahead of us was playing some sticken game on his gameboy that was so incredible annoying. It took all my restraint not to jump out of my seat and grab that thing out of his hand. Thank goodness for the "seat belt fastened" sign. :rotfl:

Nice pictures of storybook circus.

Judging by Candi's pictures, she takes Buzz Lightyear very seriously!
i feel you on flights home, i had a doozy of a kid behind me during decent.

he kept screaming that he wanted his daddy...over and over the entire 20 minute decent. she kept saying i cant let you do that we have to stay seated...he was on her lap...the dad was in the row right behind him...you could have easily tossed him over the seat to the dad.:thumbsup2

very serious she is a disney shooter game extrodinar.

Great Dumbo pics. I love how they redid it with fountains underneath it

Great photopass shots :thumbsup2

Love the pic of Parker and Noelle holding hands..so sweet :lovestruc

Candi was really in the zone there :yay:
i was glad to see that little touch as well, i think that is how the disneyland version is if im not mistaken...glad to see that change.

LOVE the updates, Dan.

I love how Noelle just falls asleep and even loud noises don't phase her.

The photopass pics of you and Parker are really great.

Love Noelle's Tink shirt.

Nice job scoring on Buzz while holding a little one.

The picture of the kids hugging is my favorite.
try those same loud noises at home and its no dice...but fall asleep when a man is pounding on a piece of metal loud enough to make jurasic park ripples in water and sound asleep. :rotfl:

cant let holding little one affect your score on disney shooter games...afterall you can use them as an excuse as to why you did poorly in a game...likewise if you do awesome you get bragging rights for the rest of the day. :thumbsup2

Great updates Dan !! Your kids are too darn cute!! I think I need to take the girls to that restaurant so they can eat and listen to the music of "It's A Small World"" I know they would KILL me !!!:rotfl2:

nice thing is you cant hear the music while eating totally seperate roomso if they dont want to ride it you can do the next best thing watch others launching from there boat for the most magical cruise that ever sailed.

Great updates, Dan! Love the pictures of the new Dumbo. My kids are going to be so excited about that, they love that ride and the new play area sounds fantastic.

:sad2: Sorry about the kid at the restaurant though. Man, I can't decide if I'm sorry for him that his family is so unresponsive, or for them if he'd just worn them down over the day.

I mentioned before that the big reveal for our trip was a bit anticlimactic. Well, now that we are two weeks out, they are getting hyper. My daughter and I are meeting a friend in Branson for the weekend for some shopping and a visit and my son went into hysterics this morning when she mentioned "packing' because he thought we were leaving for Disney without him. - and he wasn't packed! :lmao:

Thanks for the early morning smile. I can face work with a positive attitude now that I've had my coffee and update!
i wish we had more time to play in there or that the kids wanted too parker wasnt in to it, so we just took a few picures and left...hope they really enjoy the play area there.

thats too funny he thought you were leaving him. well for you anyway hope he wasnt tramatized.

glad to make your day better hope you can carry it into the weekend as i have a rule not to update on the weekends and take away from time with the kids. :thumbsup2

The People Mover is one of my favorites...a great way to relax and people watch!

thanks im glad we stopped i hope they keep a photopass person there.

i saw that in yours, did you see both of those mickeys on the two different spots?

i love the people movers brings back great memories growing up riding it over and over...

it is really relaxing like you said. and how can you not like paging mr tom morrow.

sneaking in with the reply nicely played...

thanks ill keep him he is pretty cute. :)

i dont hate IASW...would i ride it 10 times in a day no but dont hate it.

a buzz blaster would have been nice at that moment.:rotfl:

Haha...love it! Love trivia, even if I am not good at it.

Question 1: answer is b) 289 dolls in its a small world
Question 2: it's trickier...I am guessing but think the answer is c) 9:06 is the time on the clock.

feel free. the book i got them from was the walt disney world trivia book....secrets, history & fun facts behind the magic.

there is alot of good stuff in there.

Chapter 26. Princess training and a new game.

So after we hit the front of the Mk to drop off our stuff in the locker to the evening hours we saw a princess out and about that we had to see.

Before our first trip with parker, i did not care for princess aurora at all, never saw the movie but just didnt like the princess for one reason or another.

now she is one of my favorites, the interaction that we have had over the years with her is priceless and one of the best that we can remember. She spent a ton of time with parker that trip even came back over to him in line for the next princesses to keep talking to him.

She was awesome on the second trip with him where she kept talking to him about slaying dragons (same story line as the previous trip) and just overall a great time.

So needless to say it was time to hit her up again and see how this worked with noelle.

So we found our princess next to city hall and the fire station.

noelle was feeling her out but parker dropped right into his routine of autographs and eating up the interaction.

DSC04430_zps929622ee.jpg

noelle was giving her a few unsure looks but was sort of getting this whole princess thing.

Photo0437FourBySix_zps3aa42a6d.jpg

Photo0439FourBySix_zpsa7d477f9.jpg

then came time for the official princess wave...
DSC04433_zps5ed18c42.jpg

Photo0452FourBySix_zps5194c339.jpg

yep looks pretty legit to me. but i am a little biased on her. ;)

parker had to get his own shot with her

Photo0443FourBySix_zpsf7cf22eb.jpg

and then the whole group was able to join minus ol dad of course.
Photo0447FourBySix_zps8cdee8a6.jpg

next up was to head right next door into the fire station to do a little game.
we had read about it so we wanted to try it out. the lady who was teaching the kids/adult how to play was very good.

she had parker come over to the training area. and gave him his cards to use.

she actually gave us all a pack so we had 4 of them. you had 3 spell cards and the key type card that use to turn stuff on and remember your game.

here she is telling parker about the cards.
DSC04434_zps80752246.jpg

then we found that the these are the symbols on the ground at the locations of the spots we were to find.
DSC04435_zpsd280987e.jpg

activating his portal window.
DSC04436_zps7bd97f3e.jpg

and then the wizard shows up to explain the game to us and to practice.

DSC04437_zpsb8303f91.jpg

you use your spells to fight off the bad guys some work better than others and so forth.

in case anyone has bipassed the fire station this is where you go in to get your cards and map of the game.
DSC04438_zps53d4790e.jpg

so with a little time to spare before the parade we didnt want to head off in the back of the park to start the game and then miss a prime place at the start of the parade so we had enought time to wait but still get a good spot so a ride on the walt disney train was in order.

or as parker calls it the casey junior.
DSC04439_zps983f46a9.jpg

we get to the splash mountain station and see jessie and woody, with plans to see them later in the trip, we stay on the train.
DSC04441_zpsea075e4f.jpg

hint we never made it back to see them, so really glad we saw woody in MGM a few days before.

so we stay on the train and mind the rules that state we need to remain seated no matter what sort of urge we have to get up and start dancing on the train.

DSC04443_zps88282678.jpg

now to the back of the magic kindgom with another reference to the kingdom keeper books these use these tents alot when they enter the magic kingdom at night.

but wont give away to much for those that have not read and plan to.
DSC04446_zpsf1944110.jpg

next stop the new fantasyland station...formally know as toontown.

DSC04447_zps0f5e1944.jpg

it is now getting close to parade time but will we find a prime spot? that is the question.

find out next chapter.

I've always loved the what not to do picture on the remain seated logos. Who does that??

I love Sleeping Beauty but there's something about her wig that bothers me! I think I mentioned this on your last TR lol

aggghhhh cliff hanger really? aw shucks!!! That little Noelle is priceless with all her facial expressions too cute!! And Parker well he's just a little heart melter!!

Noelle sure was checking Aurora out big time in that one picture! :) I do agree, looks like she has the wave down pretty good.

And Parker? My goodness, such a ladies man! :lovestruc

I love riding the train around. Excuse me while I sing along..."Can you paint with all the colors of the wind??" Yes, I embarrass DH every time we get to that part.

I love Noelle's expression in this picture! :rotfl2:

Aurora was my oldest daughter's favorite princess....I think we had an old hand-me-down book, literally from the late 60's/early 70's, of the cartoon Sleeping Beauty that we read to her. Trouble was, Disney wasn't doing anything Sleeping Beauty around that time, about the year 2000. No merchandising, no character at the parks, nothing at the Disney store, etc. Lauren used to ask, "but what about Aurora???" We're glad to see that her popularity has improved!

I admit, I've never gotten the whole Aurora thing either, she is my little sisters favorite princess so I suppose she can't be all bad. I'm missing the hook with her somehow. Love that you all had such great interaction with her, that's wonderful!

then came time for the official princess wave...
DSC04433_zps5ed18c42.jpg

Photo0452FourBySix_zps5194c339.jpg

Definitely THE BEST Princess wave I have ever seen. :goodvibes Noelle did great.

I've heard great things about the Sorcerer game; wonder if it will still be around by the time my grandbabies come and I can take them?

We totally missed the train in December which did NOT make Mr. Mark very happy.

Never been fan of Aurora either. No desire to see her movie or anything related to her

But looks like she was great and had a great interaction with the kids

Love Noelle's expression in some of those pics :rotfl:

Parker sure loves the ladies :cutie:

Just finished catching up on your report! I love seeing your kids interact with the characters! I got teary at the pictures of Noelle and the Pluto pillow! The last time we went to WDW my youngest was 1 years old and randomly latched onto a stuffed Stitch doll....she still sleep with him also. It melts your heart when they love something so much right away!! Impossible to not buy those animals when they hug on them so much!!

Can't wait for more and I am excited to read about the game that starts in the Firehouse...I had not heard about it before and we are planning on going in May. My kids would love it so I hope it's still around when we go.
