I went to DCL website and since my party size is 7 I really will need 2 adjoining state rooms. . what is an average price person for a 3 or 4 day cruise. ..TIA

a lot of factors play into your question.. time of year, what type of room, mostly kids or adults etc.. best advice I know of is check the pricing threads and see if you can come up with a base line price..hope that helps a bit.

Low end, off season, classic ship, GTY, $100/night/adult...maybe less
High end...well, 2A2C in cat R on the Fantasy is over $20K some weeks...

There are too many variables here. Why don't you just plug the numbers into the website and see, you will get the best answer this way as only you know when you want to cruise and what type of room.

What the post is saying is that if you do everything the cheapest way possible, you can bring in a cruise for about $100 per person per night of cruise or even a bit less.

Or you can go totally upscale in Concierge and spend 5 times that much--totally your choice.

It depends on the time of year and what specials DCL may offer as well as what choices you make.

Thank you for being attention as I learn how to access the dis boards from my ipad...and thanks for the link...

If you can sail this Spring, and you are looking for the absolute best price, I'd look at the kids sail free cruises from Galveston. We are 2 adults and 2 kids in an inside cabin (inside cabins are the cheapest you can get) on a four day cruise for $1280. The four day Galveston cruises only stop at one port, though, Cozumel, so that may be a factor for you. --Katie

No. DCL sometimes offers Kids free when cruises are not filling. This is most common in January/early Feb. and in the fall when the kids go back to school, but you can't count on it. Discounts happen when DCL needs them to fill ships.

From DCL's point of view, an empty cabin is a loss. They have lots of "fixed" expenses on a cruise. If they make enough money to cover their fixed expenses, they have the possibility of a profit--the guest is likely to buy a beverage, enjoy a spa service, shop in the gift shops, book an excursion, or something. And if nothing else, the crew stays happy because they get their tips. SO, if the ships aren't filling, DCL comes up with Kids Sail free, restricted fares, etc. in order to entice more guests.

The problem is that while we can guess which cruises may be popular or less so, there is no way we can predict this accurately. And then, we can't tell what special DCL might try. I'm sure they have computer models that give them an idea of which ones result in how many new bookings.

I assume if we book now and then kids sail free comes up we can not change reservations?
