Small dslr or other recommendations????

I did! I figured for $398 I can sell it if I hate it.

The 40-150 lens is back up to $299 now (I got it for $99.)

It will arrive tomorrow. I don't have a memory card for it yet but if the one I have sitting here fits I will just use that for now to play with it.

Enjoy the camera. I think it's an excellent choice, for what you were seeking.

Welcome to the (growing) community of micro 4/3! :) I think you will enjoy the size of the camera and lenses.

Thanks.

I am already looking online at more lenses, particularly fisheye at the moment. I would love to play around with a fisheye lens!

I have the E-PL2. It's a great camera and one of the neat things about it is that the onboard flash is hinged so you can bounce it.

A fisheye is one lens I don't have, but there are some excellent lenses out there for micro 4/3's. $99 for the 40-150 can't be beat.

Finally got the battery all charged up (that is like waiting for paint to dry when you are anxious to get started!) and played a bit. It was dark out when it finally charged so I didn't get any outdoor shots, but did just take pictures of my messy house that I won't post! :rotfl2:

It seems to perform much better in low light than I had anticipated. The biggest complaint I read was about low light. I was expecting worse.

I like it!

Thanks.

The Bower/Rokinon/Samyang/etc 7.5mm is probably the best way to go without spending a lot (a little less than $300). This is a manual focus/manual aperture lens but at medium apertures everything from about 5' out is in focus anyway. Panasonic's 8mm goes for around twice that price but does have autofocus and auto aperture.
One of these is on my list too!

Newer cameras have advanced rapidly in low light/ISO.
I really don't know the Pen, but I'd expect any current model mirrorless/dSLR to be a vast improvement over an older (4+ years old) camera.

My 6 year old dSLR had max ISO of 1600, and got noisy over 400.
Practically every camera on the market now has at least 1-2 more ISO stops and can easily handle ISO over 800 without noise problems.
