Day Trip a few questions

My husband and I won a long weekend trip to Paris and would love to spend a day at DLP. We are coming from the US. Where should a buy my tickets? Do I order them ahead of time or just wait til we get there? We love Disney and have visited WDW and DL many times. What are our can't miss attractions? We haven't been to any Disney park without kids in 19 years! Also the hours are short, can we do a character meal for dinner after the parks close?

Thanks in advance

The best offer for tickets are the franciliene tickets.

Sorry the site is in french, however it should be doable to purchase the tickets with an online translator.
If you know the day you'll visit, the dated tickets are a huge saving.

You print the tickets at home and go to the turnstiles where they'll scan the barcode.
Then you scan the barcode again to get the fastpasses (they do not give you a physical ticket like in DL).

This thread has a lot of suggestions for US park experts:

There is a restaurant at the Disney Village (a scaled down version of DTD) called Cafe Mickey with characters dinner. Also in the Disneyland hotel (local version of the Grand Floridian, only it's pink instead of white) there is a very good buffet dinner with characters, but it's pricey.

I can't book that way because I am in the US. I wonder if I can do it at the hotel when I get there. I'll have to see if there is a business center so I can print the tickets.

Some of the can't miss attractions in DLP (compared to DLR) in my opinion:

Disneyland Park
- Dreams - absolutely fantastic and totally worth staking out a good spot early for! I find it comparable to WOC at DCA. Definitely not to be missed...
- Space Mountain, which is way more intense at DLP
- Indiana Jones - which is a roller coaster with an inversion, has great theming but for some reason I wasn't too impressed by it at my last visit (as opposed to my memories of it from previous visits)...
- Phantom Manor, which has a slightly different storyline to DLR's and has a different ending section with a Wild West theme
- PoTC. No Jack Sparrow, and a slightly different layout from DLR
- BTM - great, also goes around the island in the middle of the lake/lagoon

Walt Disney Studios
- Crush's coaster - such a fun coaster. Unfortunately the wait times are ridiculously long and there's no fastpass...
- Rock and Rollercoaster (though there's one at WDW)

Hope this helps!

Thank you, I have to check the closures. I love World of Color, it was worth every penny to get to DCA a few years ago.

Mmm strange. I bought some Francilien tickets in the past and I live in Italy. What error do you get? If the problem is that it only has "France" as your country, don't worry, they don't snail mail anything, and you'll print tickets at home. You can invent an address or use the address of any hotel in France.

Or is it an issue with the credit card?

A lot of people have pbs with the Disney site if they don't have French cards.

Go through the Fnac or Ticketnet site and you will have no pb. Both these sites are very reputable and have been used by many people on this forum :)

When are you coming as tickets are only on sale up to the end of March atm as that's when the season changes over and prices increase - If you tell us I'll put up the best link for you out of the many offers

Thank you, I was wondering if I used the hotel address. We are travelling mid January. Should I just buy them at the Disney store when I get there?

1 day - 2 park tickets for a mid week visit

If you know the date of your visit and you buy the ticket at least 5 days before you only pay 45€

http://www.ticketnet.fr/manifestation/idmanif/271004

If you don't know the date or or will only know less than 5 days before it's 66€

http://www.ticketnet.fr/manifestation/idmanif/270955

A 1 day - 2 park ticket at the gate is 79€

The saving in buying and printing off your ticket at home is huge :)

Ordered and printed!! Thanks, I am getting excited. I have been to France but my husband has not. I didn't get to DLP last time, so I am looking forward to it.
