That time of the new year is quickly approaching and just wondering if anybody else will be calling FW home for the event.

I'll be driving the motorhome to the EPCOT parking lot all three mornings for our base camp. Plan on quietly heading out at 2:30AM and being parked with jacks down and bedroom slide out by 3:00AM.

DW and I have the 5K on Friday. DD will stay with us Friday night and we'll all head over for the Half on Saturday.

On Sunday DW will be volunteering while I do the Full.

Sounds like there could be some wet weather and a bit warmer than most would like. That's winter in FL.

Good luck and fun times to all.

We are tent camping....my husband will be doing the half on Saturday, and I am doing the full on Sunday. This is my 6th Disney marathon but my first time doing it while staying at Fort Wilderness. So excited to leave!

Tenting and Marathon Weekend, :worship: 6th Disney marathon is a great achievement.

I am! I'll be in one of the cabins with my parents and son. My friends are doing the 1/2 (I'm watching their kids) and I'm doing the full. Can't wait!

Cabins are cool. A bit of luxury in the camp ground setting. For 2014 you should give the Tree House Villas a shot.

PLEASE give an update how this combination went! I'd be nervous that I wouldn't sleep well enough for the run. Hooray for doing both! :cheer2:

As long as the weather holds out, it should be great. I have camped the last 4 years before my marathon in Burlington, Vermont. I sleep better in a tent than in a hotel bed. :) I plan on tent camping before my Ironman this summer, though not looking forward to the post-Ironman sleeping on the ground. :)

Do you sleep on an inflatable mattress? If so, you could always put it on the floor of a hotel room under the sheets coming off the bed and have a camp-in. :)

What IM will you be doing? I have the 70.3 Gator in March and IMFL in Nov. as of right now. Thinking about 70.3 in Haines City.

I am doing Ironman Lake Placid in July, my first IM. I did a 70.3 in September and had so much fun. I love marathons but I think I may love triathlons more. :)

Ya'll shame me. :(

I gotta find at least a Half to do locally. I did the Disney collection (5k, 10k, Half, Whole) all so long ago.

I'll also say, ya'll inspire me. :thumbsup2

Lake Placid, WOW! :thumbsup2

IMFL will be my first also. At 63 years old, it will be the Grand Finale of my tri season. Starting the year off with Dopey next week, cause I am, then the Gator 70.3 and hoping to not drown so I can do some more triathlons then finish off the year with another Space Coast Marathon at the end of Nov.

BTW-Happy New Year to ALL!
