Stopping for groceries. I want to take a case of bottled water onboard. What do I have to do with it? I know there are regs for taking bottles of liquor on. Does it have to be in special box or anything

In the past I have carried it on. My understanding was that you can't put beverages in the checked luggage that is left with the porters but it's okay to bring if it's in your carry ons. I had no trouble with my case of water in my small suitcase except it makes for a very heavy carry on. ;)

so I do have to put it in a carry on? I can't just carry the case onboard. I am doing grocery stop on way to port. I don't know what I would put it in. i am not taking empty suitcase

DCL allows you take whatever beverages you wish. As much as you like. The only requirement is that you must carry it on. It can't be in your checked bags. When carrying it on, DCL does prefer that it be covered. I've seen them hand out black plastic bags for people who were carrying their beverages in the open.

so that means you keep it with you until you are able to get into your cabin?

The OP has gotten the correct answer about carrying on any beverages. I just wanted to point out that there really isn't a need to bring your own water on board. They make their own water on board and it has none of the chemical smell you may be familiar with if you visit WDW.

Quite right. The water onboard (from the drink station, in the MDR, for ice, coffee, tea, as well as from the tap in your room) is processed the same way that bottled water is (reverse osmosis and filtered).

Not worried about the taste.
Worried about travel illness. I have a friend who became sick after travel to Mexico in AUGUST. She is still off work with this illness

You can take your own personal water bottles onboard and fill them for use on excursions. Cheaper than bringing bottled water onboard.
