We are doing our first ever cruise end Jan and have no idea what shoes to bring with us. I have looked at pictures on the board, but again, Jan weather is kinda cooler so not sure if sandals/crocs etc will work for us. Perhaps I'm thinking like a Canadian since we are in boots now LOL

So my big question - what do you wear on your perfectly pedicured feet;)

Even in January I bring sandals, sneakers and one pair of dress shoes.

I wore:
flip flops for the pools
cute dressy sandals or heels for dinner

I brought sneaks for when we pulled into ports but I never put them on.

We've cruised in December/January. It was coldest at Port Canaveral. I always bring flip flops, running shoes or like tiva sandals, and as many dressy shoes (flats or sandals or heels) as I can stand to pack. People are wearing sandals or flip flops I think. Wear what us comfortable for what you are doing? Your Canadian toes should not be cold :)

I brought really comfy walking sandals (Orthaheels if you have heard of them), 2 pairs of heels (that I wore once each and then decided I don't wear heels normally, I'm not going to try to walk on a moving boat with them), and I think a pair of sneakers/Reeboks- Easy tones. This time I am packing the Orthaheels, a pair of dressier Birk sandals, ballet flats, and walking on with the comfy Sketchers "Go Walk" shoes. Lesson learned: no heels.

I think I only ever wore my sneaker on the plane and when walking with my dad at like 0600 before breakfast (we did the lap around the boat 4 times).

I bring three pair of shoes, my Chaco sandals for everyday wear, Dansko sandals for dinner, and a dressy pair of heels for formal night. Sometimes I pack more, my shoes will fit inside DH's shoes, try finding space for two pairs of mens size 15 in the suitcases. DH brings a pair of dressy shoes, a pair of tennis shoes, and his sandals.

If you're Canadian, I can't imagine you'll have a problem with sandals. I live in Orlando and I almost never wear anything but sandals--and I'm a native! So you should be fine for the short amount of time you're in Port Canaveral. Then you're off to warmer climes!

But seriously, I only wear closed-toe shoes if the high is below 50 and/or I'm walking a lot--like all day at WDW walking. Even for a few hours at WDW I'll wear sandals.

All that said, wear what you're comfy in. I myself can't stand regular shoes, but loafers or tennis shoes or the like would not be out of place on the ship. Boots, though? You should probably leave those packed up and pull them out when you get off the plane back home ;)

We just loaded a suitcase with ALL SHOES! We have 4 daughters, and my 11 year old won't wear the same shoes 2 days in a row! The boots we took are for pirate night!+

Love it! I drive, so I can pack as many shoes as I want. So what if one or two pair isn't worn? I need options!!!!

For our Feb cruise on the Magic I will take 4 pairs, flip flops, dressy sandals, pirate boots, and tennis shoes for WDW. Though if it's warm enough I will wear my flip flops. We're driving from MI so I'll have the tennis shoes anyway because I don't think I can start the trip in flip flops.

These were my choices for our last 7 night cruise in October. I find that I get chilly in the dining rooms so I typically wear closed-toed shoes there.

I am so glad I am not the only person with a suitcase full of shoes! When you need dressy shoes, crocs, flip flops, water shoes, boots for pirate night, ect for 5 people it tends to take up a lot of space!

To the OP, you are going to the Caribbean,:beach: of course you want sandals! Sure at night it might get a lil chilly, but being from snowy Ohio I am quite comfortable wearing sandals in 60 degree weather- I am sure being from Canada you will be fine too!

Me too..doesnt matter if the cruise is 4 days, 7 or 14..that is all I bring and I am wearing my sneakers, so only 2 in the suitcase.

Guess I can't answer, my feet aren't pedicured, perfectly or imperfectly! ;)

We've cruised most months of the year, and except for Alaska, I've never felt the need for particularly warm shoes or boots except occasionally on embarkation or debarkation days, when the port was chilly. I generally bring a couple of pairs of sandals that coordinate with various outfits, water shoes or shoes like crocs that can get wet or be washed off and dry more or less instantly, walking shoes, and a pair of nice shoes. For me, comfortable shoes for walking, for some excursions, and water or plastic shoes for pool and beach, are the most important.

Thanks for the replies. No, I would not be bringing my boots, can't wait to diss them: Hopefully there won't be much snow when we leave, so I can wear my sneakers for the plane and pack a nice heal sandals and either crocs or flip flops and perhaps another dressy sandal. That with the kids footwear could make for some interesting packing.
