Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

One week from tomorrow we will be checking in for our first stay at All Star Sports! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

just read this thread: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3028770
of a person loving Sports.

I hope she comes over here to join us.

don't know if i should post this or not.
i was reading another thread about the fast pass + and in it i saw a post that mentioned the rfid cards.

i believe that poster mentioned that Sports was going to get the RFID room cards january 19? 21?

anyone know anything about this or is this just a rumor?

I read a post somewhere else about them trying them at different resorts maybe?

Has anyone chimed in here with news of the new radio frequency door locks?

I read elsewhere they were installing at the All Stars on the week of November 28th ... but maybe someone did post it here and I just missed it?

the post on the prior page, i stated i read about the RFID at Sports for Jan. 19.
i read another poster statement on another thread that this procedure will be done at Sports first in January.

so, i asked that question here if anyone else read about RFID at Sports.

CGuy, you're late for the party.....
but if you find out more info than we have here, please come back to let us know.

i won't be at Sports until September but I know others on this thread will be there very soon.

Hey.. just think of the parties I missed all together!!! (LOL!)

Yeah.. I was kinda hoping they'd be there for my upcoming trip Jan 4 to 10 ... oh well, maybe next time. I just quickly scanned the last couple of pages tho.. my scroll was too fast.. I skipped those posts. Color me feeling stupid!

Same to you and yours and hoping your upcoming trip is still on schedule.

yes it is and thanks. I am not teaching at the college next semester as after my trip I am having surgery on my right knee. I have a torn meniscus that needs some repair. So I have to go live it up right while I still got the chance:cool1::cool1: I finally gave up on trying to get a dinner ressie at Be Our Guest and will settle for lunch instead. Did you say in the past that you ate lunch there? If so how was it?

Hi there Luster!

No we did not eat at Be Our Guest. The line was far too long for me to attempt. I can walk but not stand still. Go figure.:confused3

Maybe by the time you get there it will not be quite so new and so packed. The menu and the pictures look good though.

One place you might want to check out is the new AoA food court. They had some interesting choices and you get real plates and silverware although I fail to see much real value in that and a whole lot of overhead for the establishment.

Once you get that pesky leg fixed up your trip will be much more comfortable and you will be able to walk much further.

BTW, I am not sure it will work with BoG but I have often found that if you walk up you can often get spur of the moment entry into places you could not get a ressie for. Might not work there as it is so new that most folks will honor their ressies. You can also walk up to any TS restaurant and ask them to check for availability for any other on site restaurant. Good luck!

menicus.........ugh.

i had surgery for the same thing about 3 years back.
ended up with PT which did help me a lot.

do your vacation, have fun and use a knee brace if need be.
it helped with me.
i did my trip and then the surgery a week after i came home.

hope your trip is fantastic and your recovery after surgery is speedy!

Hi, I hope your holidays were good to you too Lustergirl. Mine were good and now I am waiting for New Years so we can get back to the regular schedule.

I hope everyone else celebrating or not had a good Christmas.

Linda, there are some restaurants that walking up is a waste of time and I suspect BOG is one of them. I have never nor have I seen or heard of anyone getting a LeCellier as a walk up. I wish they would save a few for the walk ups at all the restaurants. I know they have them for employees because I have a friend who got in to BOG last minute because of her CM friend.

My doctor is taking the meniscus completely out. The recovery time is less and I should be able to walk out of the surgery center the same day. It doesn't bother me for the most part as I have strengthened my legs through exercise. Everyone once in awhile though it bothers me and my knee will lock up on me. Then I am in trouble. I am so looking forward to this trip as I have not been in almost 3 years:goodvibes:goodvibes

AOA is interesting but I have no desire to stay there. The suites are so high priced that for the price I could go all fancy dancy and stay at a deluxe resort instead. For a single room in the Little Mermaid section it is cheaper but too darn far from the action. I am going to check it out on my next trip though.

Hi guys!

Checking into ASSp tomorrow. Staying through the 5th.

If anyone has any resort-specific questions/inquiries I'd be happy to check and reply back.

Also, if anyone's going to be there on the 5th when we check out I'd be happy to send over any leftover water bottles, snacks, booze, etc since I won't be packing any of it up to take back home :)

Just PM me or reply here.

Thanks for a great thread...enjoyed reading it very much.
