POR bus issues?

Just returned from a week at POR and we had a wonderful time. Stayed in a Royal Guestroom and it was so beautiful!! But I have to ask - - does anyone know why POR was so populated last week? At any point during our trip, whenever we would head to the bus stops, POR had a line of a million people and all the other resorts had maybe 10-20 people in line. This was morning, noon, and night!! Then you throw in the ECVs and it took us at least an hour to get anywhere no matter where or when we we left.
It wasn't enough to ruin my trip, and I know that dealing with the buses is just part of Disney World, but it was weird to me the way POR was so much more chaotic than the other resorts.

I would guess it was because Pop Warner was at CBR, CSR, Pop and the All Stars and they were booked almost to capacity. Anyone traveling to WDW last week that was not part of Pop Warner had limited resort options, outside of Deluxe, unless they booked way in advance. POR was one of those options, since Pop Warner was not staying there which is likely why POR buses were busier than other resorts. Pop Warner does not affect parks at all, so they would not have been on the buses even though the resorts were almost full. Just my guess, unless someone else knows of something other than PW that was going on.

Ugh.. This makes me nervous. I'm coming with my 5 year old in January and I will not be happy if this is the case! Wondering if I should switch resorts?

Pop Warner was the week before our trip. Last year we stayed at POR during Pop Warner and so this year we decided to go the week after to avoid that crowd.
I know it was more crowded in Magic Kingdom all week because of Fantasyland, but did everyone choose POR?? I guess so! Lol!
We did notice that POFQ had a lot less people and seemed very nice. We might stay there next trip (2014) or try Coronado Springs.

No. This was one guest's experience. Why would you think it would happen to you? Different time, different events. Just because one person has a bad event doesn't mean you will.

I never base any Disney plans on what someone else has gone through. They aren't me and I'm not them. I have different expectations and a different life.

Please don't change your plans because I questioned the bus population! POR is a beautiful resort and I promise, my questions about the buses did NOT cause me any upset during our vacation!! I was only wondering what was going on. And if you are there Wed-Sun nights, please take an evening out of your schedule to spend some time with Yeeha Bob in the bar area!! It's a kid-friendly show that left my entire family in tears we were all laughing so hard.

I hope you and your daughter have the best, most magical time!!!

You cannot pick your neighbors.

You cannot pick how many others will be staying at your resort.

You cannot pick the personalities of those staying at your resort during any given time period.

You CAN. however, if you are dissatisfied for any reason - go to the front desk, discuss your issues, then see if they can come up with a solution.
I have never run into any issues that any Value or Mod Disney resort would not try to help us solve. (I have never stayed Deluxe, so I cannot comment.) They want you to be happy so you will return again. :thumbsup2

We stayed at POFQ November 29-December 8. We were very pleased with it. We really didn't have any bus issues at all. There were certain times the buses were a little more crowded, but we really never waited long at all. I would definitely stay there again.

We went in September and it was the same thing. Because of the busses, we decided we will never return to POR. So many other busses were managed better.

We were there last week as well and thought the busses were a pain. Luckily we drive down so we just ended up driving to the parks except for MK which also looked to be the worst one! We just noticed that many busses would pull up full from POFQ so only half the line could get on to stand, then we would have to wait for another bus. Add to that as many as 5-10 ECVs waiting each time (more than I remember seeing anywhere else before) it took much longer than the other resorts we've stayed at, which is all the values and mods and almost all deluxe. That being said, we LOVED the resort and really didn't mind driving at all. Much quicker and more convenient!
