~Our August Honeymoon..a whole new World for 2 WDW Veterans~ DONE

Sounds like you had such a great day. Epcot is not my favorite but there are so many things there we haven't tried. Maybe if we tried some new things my opinion would change. My DH on the other hand loves Epcot.

Wishes from your balcony would be a PERFECT ending to any day!

Epcot used to be a park I disliked. But over the past few years, it has grown on me!

I've always wanted to try the fish and chips from the UK pavilion. They look so yummy! I bet watching Wishes from your balcony was amazing! :thumbsup2

You have to try them!!

It was amazing!

Hi Tink!!! omg!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It's been forever! So good to see you back on here and read your amazing TR's!! Especially this one, being your Disneymoon and all :)

I love the pic of you and DH at the CF! How cute!! And I love your room location.. you got awesome pics of Wishes with your phone!! I also love the pics of the duckies that came to your room every day.. they're so cute!

We'll have to try eating at Japan one time, when we go back eventually. It sounds so good and it was nice to hear you review it! We always say we will but we never do! We'll have to wait a while before we go back to Disney though b/c we're expecting and due in February!! :)

Can't wait for more!

Hey!! It has been forever! Glad you found me!

Ahhh congratulations! I hope we have good news like that soon! :)

Day 3: August 15, 2012

We woke up around 9 am. It was nice just sleeping in and not getting up early to rush to a park for rope drop. After saying hello to our little duck friends, we headed out. Here’s right outside our door. As you can see, we were definitely close to the lobby and elevators!

Honeymoon343.jpg

Today, we were heading to Hollywood Studios and that meant going to the bus stop. Follow us!

Honeymoon344.jpg

Honeymoon345.jpg

Honeymoon346.jpg

Honeymoon347.jpg

Honeymoon348.jpg

Made it!

Honeymoon349.jpg

We didn’t have to wait too long for a bus, which was nice! I feel like it’s either a hit or miss with the buses. You either have good luck and the bus is always there or gets there within 5 minutes, or you have bad luck and it seems like you are always waiting forever for buses.

Honeymoon350.jpg

Now I know that it isn’t MGM anymore, but it has taken me quite awhile to get over it. HA! This was the first trip that we actually referred to the park as Hollywood Studios. Any bus ride to a park always brings anticipation and excitement. I quickly snapped a picture of the little Tower of Tower advertisement they have. We always drive by it when we get to WDW, so it is one of those “We’re really here!” things to see.

Honeymoon351.jpg

Also from the bus, we could see that they were painting the Ears on the Mickey tower back in the Backlot Tour area. We were definitely hoping to get a closer look later! The bus dropped us off so far away!

Honeymoon352.jpg

Honeymoon353.jpg

They moved Mickey and his mops from by the Hollywood Brown Derby to out front of the park.

Honeymoon354.jpg

After we got inside, we decided to get FP’s for ToT, and then eat breakfast at Starring Rolls since we had never been there before.

Honeymoon355.jpg

Honeymoon356.jpg

I snapped this picture on my phone to send back home and to Kristen:

TowerofTerror.jpg

The FP return time was 11:40 – 12:40, which was fine for us!

Honeymoon357.jpg

With those in hand, we turned back around and went to Starring Rolls. I was excited to eat there because I have heard nothing but good things about it! The inside is so cute!

Honeymoon358.jpg

We both had orange juice to drink. We also shared a cinnamon roll, a Danish roll, and yogurt. Both of the rolls were good, so I recommend Starring Rolls to anyone! We had to wait a few minutes, but someone finally got up from one of the tables outside.

Honeymoon359.jpg

Honeymoon360.jpg

While we ate, we talked about what else we wanted to do that day. RnRC was a must on DH’s list. I really wanted to draw at Art of Animation again. We knew TSMM would probably be out of the question with a crazy long line and no fast passes left, so we saved that for another day.

After we were done eating, I wanted to look in the Villain shop. I ended up buying some wooden Mickey drink coasters for our living room. We had a few minutes left before we could go back to ToT, so we went over to RnRC to get FP’s. The return time was 1:25 – 2:25, so we decided that would be our last ride before leaving the park. We headed back to ToT and hoped our breakfast would stay down. HA!

Honeymoon361.jpg

Unfortunately, we seemed to have wasted a fast pass! There was almost no one in the standby line! We weaved through the FP line and finally met the standby line in the hotel lobby before going into the pre-show! Oh well. While we waited in line in the boiler room, we talked about the time we tried to find this lever with Kristen and Chris. Supposedly, if you pulled it, you were supposed to get a little shock or something. I can’t remember exactly what was supposed to happen or where it was. We never did find it! ToT was fun as usual. We had this family with a kid who screamed at the top of their lungs every time we dropped. It was so funny!

Next, we decided to head to the Art of Animation. DH and I finally did this on our engagement trip back in 2010 and fell in love. We usually end up drawing a few times a trip.

Honeymoon362.jpg

Honeymoon363.jpg

Honeymoon364.jpg

Honeymoon365.jpg

*Continued in next post*

*Continued from previous*

We had to wait a few minutes for the next session, which was fine because they have screens there for a little game. You have to guess who the character is as the screen slowly draws it. There was this group that had 3 kids sitting on the floor watching the screen. They would guess the right character with only the first two or three lines drawn. It was hilarious! They were right every time. Finally it was our turn!

Honeymoon366.jpg

Honeymoon367.jpg

Once everyone got in their places, the CM had us vote on what character we wanted to draw. I didn’t write down who we had to vote between, so I can’t remember what the choices were. I know I voted for Flynn Rider and he ended up winning! He was SO hard to draw. It was still fun though. After our session, we headed to the art shop. I love that art shop. Back in 2009 or 2010, I bought this beautiful painting from there. It has the old school Winnie the Pooh and friends playing in the leaves in the woods. The leaves are all these pretty fall colors with oranges, yellows, and browns. I found this beautiful frame for it and hung it in our dining room. Here’s the painting:

PoohAutumnLeaves.jpg

I wanted to see if there were any of the other seasons of Pooh by this artist, but I couldn’t find any. Darn it. I did find this vase that I now wish I would have bought for my mom. It had the mural design from the Contemporary on it, which has some personal meaning to us. It was where she stayed with my grandparents when they took her, my uncle, and my dad (they were dating at the time) back when Space Mountain first opened! Then, it was where we stayed when we went in 2001 with my grandparents and uncle over Christmas. Then, it was where we stayed when we went with my grandparents and uncle to take Little Guy there for his first time. I really wish I had bought that vase!

After we were done looking around, we headed over to the Backlot Tour, which had only a 5 minute wait!

Honeymoon368.jpg

Before we knew it, the pre-show video about the making of the Pearl Harbor movie was starting!

Honeymoon369.jpg

I had to take DH’s picture by this because we just so happened to end up by it. This was the movie we watched on the day we started dating 10 years ago!

Honeymoon370.jpg

We were soon moved to the next part of the pre-show. The people they chose to participate did a great job. It was cute seeing their families cheering them on.

Honeymoon371.jpg

Honeymoon372.jpg

Honeymoon373.jpg

Honeymoon374.jpg

Honeymoon375.jpg

It was so cool going by the shop part because people were actually working! We hadn’t seen that before!

Honeymoon376.jpg

Planes from the Pearl Harbor movie:

Honeymoon377.jpg

They were still up there painting!

Honeymoon378.jpg

Two things in this next picture: 1) The Stunt Show was going on. 2) The girl on the end slept the entire ride until we got to Catastrophe Canyon. That definitely woke her up!

Honeymoon379.jpg

This guy waved at us as he drove by:

Honeymoon380.jpg

Walt’s plane:

Honeymoon381.jpg

Honeymoon382.jpg

Oh look, someone woke up!

Honeymoon383.jpg

She freaked out and started coming our way as the water came rushing down. She thought she was going to get soaked. Once she realized that she wasn’t going to, she sat back down. She started laughing and putting her arms out under the water. I know that doesn’t sound too bad, but trust me, if you saw it…she was weird about it all.

Going back by the Stunt Show, it was packed!

Honeymoon385.jpg

This guy was waiting to go back out and waved at us. All the drivers were so friendly!

Honeymoon384.jpg

The show must have been close to where the guy catches on fire.

Honeymoon386.jpg

Streets of America:

Honeymoon387.jpg

And that was it, folks! Little did we know, that could have been our last ride on the Backlot Tour! I’m sure you all have heard by now, but supposedly the Backlot Tour and the Stunt Show will be taken out for Cars Land!!

Up next: Lunch, RnRC, and an amazing rest of the day

All caught up! I love love love the Poly - it is so beautiful. Art of Animation is a favourite of mine too, Flynn Rider must have been so hard to draw though! That Winnie the Pooh painting is beautiful too. Your backlot tour seemed to have a lot more going on than it did when I rode it last, very interesting!

Glad you found my TR...because now I've found yours!!! Congrats on the marriage!! Lucky you to take your honeymoon here!! Looks like you guys are having a great time so far! Can't wait to read more!!

I love the pooh print. I have a couple of his prints, one is called "Pooh sticks" and can't remember the name of the other one. The artist is Peter Ellenshaw and I've seen his prints in the Character Outlet stores in a couple of outlet malls. He's done some beautiful disney prints! If you google him you can see more of his work. He did a Mary Poppins one I love! I even have a few puzzles made from his prints.

Thank you

I note for Art animation. I'm sure my children will appreciate that !

Hi from France :)

Beautiful Polynesian!

What a fun time in Hollywood! I love those super tall palm trees that line the streets there.

We don't get to see your lovely artwork???

I bet that Pooh picture makes you smile every time you see it. That's a great souvenir!

It took me kind of a while to get over MGM changing to DHS, too! I kind of flipped between calling it MGM and calling it Hollywood Studios. So glad I wasn't the only one.

That's so cool the stunt show was going on when you were on the Backlot Tour! I will be seriouslyyyy disappointed if Cars Land takes over and the Backlot Tour and the stunt show get taken out...I love them both, especially the stunt show.

I am excited for your next update...I miss RnRC so much!

Everywhere at the Poly is beautiful and so relaxing.

We got lucky on the Backlot Tour!

Hi from France :)

Wow, France?! Hi way over there! :)

Beautiful Polynesian!

I bet that Pooh picture makes you smile every time you see it. That's a great souvenir!

:rotfl: No artwork will be shown. Flynn Rider looked horrible.

I do enjoy looking at the painting while we're eating at the table. :)

You are definitely not the only one!!

DH is very sad the Stunt Show might get taken out.

I love EPCOT but am just so-so with DHS. :confused3 I really like the Backlot tour and hope they do something other than removing it, but I would really like to see Cars Land also.
We had some feathered friends when we stayed at the Poly also. :rotfl:

what???? Cars land in FL! That would be pretty cool. I am loving your TR so far. How great that you picked the Poly for your Honeymoon, what a perfect resort.

Hi Tink!!!

I'm always impressed that you are able to consume more than one alcoholic beverage, being so small and whatnot. I tried to do drinks around the world once with my friend and ended up doing "sips" around the world (from her drinks) and ended with a margarita. I was done for. :rotfl: The Grey Goose Slushie is yummy for sure! :thumbsup2

You should definitely do the Great Piggy Bank Adventure with Little Guy! My DD loves it and always asks to do it more than once on any given trip. I think it has to do with the piggy bank.

Awesome view of Wishes from your room!

I love Starring Rolls - especially the cupcakes.

Don't you hate it when you get a FP for a ride that ends up having a minimal wait time?

I would be sad to see the Stunt Show gone. I like how they have Lightening McQueen in the show, too. But Carsland will be so cute!

Yum, Starring Roles - a great way to start the day!

I know most people don't like the Backlot Tour but we do - I will miss it if/when Cars Land comes. I'm always looking forward to something new too though!

Yes, Cars Land!!

The Poly was so great for a honeymoon.

haha, I did good drinking around WS. I just paced myself.

I agree, Little Guy will love the Piggy Bank game!

Yum, Starring Roles - a great way to start the day!

I miss the old Backlot Tour!

Day 3 Continued..

We left off finishing up our ride on the Backlot Tour. It was almost time to use our RnRc FPs, but we were getting hungry. A usual place for us to grab a bite to eat is Catalina Eddies. As we headed there, we saw this beautiful billboard for Brave.

Honeymoon388_zps43aba2a0.jpg

We never did make it to the theaters to see it! So, last weekend we bought it and watched it. It is so good! Since I have been busy with the wedding and moving, I havent stayed up to date with everything going on at WDW. Can anyone tell me if the characters from Brave are anywhere at WDW yet? DH and I were guessing shell show up at Epcot!

One thing I like about the area where Catalina Eddies is the location. You can just find a table and people watch everyone going by.

Honeymoon389_zps41c4fa4a.jpg

Unfortunately, all those good tables were taken. We found one not too far from where you order, which ended up being really nice and sort of secluded and out of the way.

Honeymoon391_zps40ae472b.jpg

Honeymoon392_zps54e2a7a7.jpg

We werent super hungry, so we decided to share a sandwich and dessert. I was saving room for our amazing dinner that night at Narcoossees!

Honeymoon390_zps4bbfd4cd.jpg

After we ate, we headed back to RnRC. As we walked there, I reminded DH of the time we rode it with Kristen (xoktenox) and Chris and I lost my headband. I was so sad. Im still mad at RnRC for that, haha. We were laughing and talking about that story that I completely forgot to take any pictures! But, it was fun as usual and DH was happy.

With that under our belt, it was time to head back to the Poly. Of course, I tried to take some pictures along the way for this TR. I know I will probably end up buying this little friend once we have a little one of our own.

Honeymoon393_zps8a655aa9.jpg

I had to take this picture for MeMom and Jill!

Honeymoon394_zpse2c71dda.jpg

As we headed to our bus stop, we got sad when we saw our bus. Even though we were loving loving loving the Poly, we were missing OKW as well.

Honeymoon395_zpsbc0b07f9.jpg

It was hot waiting for our bus. Luckily, we were heading back to the Poly to spend a little time in the pool! We enjoyed some time in the quiet pool near our building, then we headed to the bar by the main pool to get some drinks. I had a margarita, and DH had a Mai Tai. With our drinks in hand, we found a table by the beach. We were in heaven. We had the best view of the MK, the Castle, and the Seven Seas Lagoon. I snapped this picture and sent it to Kristen and back home.

Polybeach_zps9eefe9e1.jpg

After we finished our drinks and just relaxed, we headed back to the room to get ready for dinner. I was so excited to finally go back to Narcoosees. My parents took me there on my very first trip when I was 3. They gave me some of their lobster and I loved it. Of course, DH has never been there, so we were both excited as we walked to the monorail. I was so excited that I didnt even stop to take this picture!

Honeymoon396_zpse4aed848.jpg

Were at the GF!

Honeymoon397_zpse600a7ef.jpg

As we walked through the doors, I took in a deep breath. I love the GF smell. It reminds me of all the times I stayed there growing up. First thing I always have to do: stop at the railing and take in the sights.

Honeymoon398_zps51f16edc.jpg

Honeymoon400_zpsf724e60f.jpg

I even found the Teddy Bear Lady! She was in the same spot that I saw her last trip.

Honeymoon399_zpsa61c90de.jpg

And then, as if it was planned, the band started playing a very special song. Its so special that Kristen and I used it in our TR titleYouve Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story! As I looked at Basin, I laughed and reminded DH of his paparazzi photos he took of me shopping in there on our engagement trip.

I love these stairs:

Honeymoon401_zps0510083f.jpg

At the bottom, I stopped to take a picture.

IMAG0522_zpsf6ad9504.jpg

DH being funny took a picture of me taking the picture!

IMAG0523_zpsf6901253.jpg

The stroll back to Narcoossees was beautiful.

Since I was wearing a fancy dress and heels to dinner, I wore flip flops and had my heels in my purse. It was the best idea I ever had. We stopped at a bench out front so I could switch my shoes. Here is the view looking out:

*Continued in next post*

*Continued from previous*

We walked in the door and I was already freaking out. I was so excited to be there. We had about a 15-20 minute wait because we were a little early for our ADR, so we went outside on the deck. DH took this picture of me, which I didn’t know about, taking in the view of the Castle before we went outside:

IMAG0524_zpsf6f28786.jpg

We didn’t get to spend much time out there, so we decided to go back out after we ate. Our table was right near the bar, which was beautiful.

Honeymoon410_zpsed4ba62b.jpg

We were on the upper level, so we had a beautiful panoramic view outside looking at the Castle.

Honeymoon409_zpsa139ddd1.jpg

IMAG0525_zps45d53fd0.jpg

Zoomed in at the Castle:

IMAG0526_zpsbbc978a8.jpg

We had such a nice waiter. He gave us free champagne, and they even had a little congratulations on our honeymoon on our menus!

Honeymoon411_zps32b4ed9b.jpg

For his appetizer, DH got the crab cakes. For his main course, he had the lobster tail and filet mignon. For my appetizer, I got the mussels. For my main course, I HAD to get the lobster. It was 2 lbs! I happily ate it all!

IMAG0527_zps280dbb62.jpg

Our desserts were almost too beautiful to eat. DH had the cheese cake and I had the baked chocolate mousse.

Honeymoon412_zpsad2b36ed.jpg

As much as I had hoped, Narcoossee’s did not disappoint. it was a perfect meal. The food was amazing, the view was beautiful, and we were enjoying a relaxing night. After we were done, we headed back out on the deck. Here were the views:

While out there, we decided where to head to next. We decided to do some shopping at DTD. To the bus stop we headed!

Honeymoon418_zpscd1642f8.jpg

Honeymoon419_zpsaa91ca23.jpg

As we arrived at DTD, the sunset was beautiful.

Honeymoon420_zpscb717938.jpg

Honeymoon421_zpsf0c22ee6.jpg

First stop: the Christmas shop to pick out some ornaments!

Honeymoon422_zpsd2a7246f.jpg

I will take a picture sometime of our ornaments before Christmas is over! It was fun getting them out of their boxes and hanging them up on our very first tree together in our new home. Since we were going back to the room after DTD, we just took the ornaments with us. Next stop: the Art of Disney store.

Honeymoon423_zps8caea56e.jpg

I was disappointed and did not see any paintings I needed in there as well. Next stop: Mickey’s Pantry!

Honeymoon424_zps53a8c181.jpg

I ended up loving this store. I bought a Mickey coffee mug that comes with a lid and two Mickey lanterns for out on our deck. The CM checking us out was working doing the college program. I only know this because she told us that after she asked us how our honeymoon was going and asked us if we had ever been to WDW before. We laughed.

The one place DH really wanted to go was Lego Land. While we shopped, I had to look at the new displays.

Honeymoon428_zpsc4224398.jpg

They were all so neat!

DH didn’t find anything he really wanted, so we decided to call it a night and head back to the Poly. At the bus stops, there was a cop directing people to what bus stop they needed. Our bus shared with the Contemporary. Of course, they stopped there first. Once we finally made it back to the Poly, we stopped in the gift shop and picked up our packages. We also stopped at Capt. Cook’s for some drinks. I got a water and DH had milk.

And as if we had planned it, we were back in the room in time to watch Wishes on our balcony again. It was another perfect ending to a great day.

Up next: Animal Kingdom day!

Sounds like a beautiful day all the way around - young and in love and in Disney World. Good food and shopping. Fireworks, beaches... I mean, really, what is there not to love about that???

Yes, Merida has her own meet & greet now in Magic Kingdom in the former Belle and then Rapunzel storytime area.

You saw Bo - he's Chelsea's fella. ::yes:: Maybe we can get Anita to put a Christmas hat on him and send a picture when she goes next week. :thumbsup2

I was looking for a new TR to sub to and this one looks just right. Can't wait to read about a Disneymoon. Congratulations!
