~Our August Honeymoon..a whole new World for 2 WDW Veterans~ DONE

Joining in! :goodvibes I love that picture of you guys at Cali Grill. Congratulations to you both!

I forgot about seeing the Contemporary from Tomorrowland. It was after reading one of your reports and seeing you mention "The Hidden Magic of WDW" (I think that was it) that I ended up reading it, too. I love reading about that stuff!

How nice of those ducks to provide a wake up call for you. Yay for fast pass pixie dust. I love the MK and think it would be so amazing to stay at a monorail resort.

The picture of you two at Cali Grill is adorable:lovestruc

Omgosh, my DH and I LOVE the peoplemover! My mom hasn't been on it since they took it out at Disneyland, so she's going to love this. I'm going to love it even more I think, because it will be a nice place to rest with the baby. :thumbsup2

Yay to eating and drinking around the world! :cool1:

Thanks!

I hope your mom loves the People Mover just as much as we do! You're right, it will be a great place to rest with the baby!

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving with your family!

Love seeing the pics with your long hair. So pretty!

I feel like you guys always seem to have pretty good luck with ride times, even during peak season. :thumbsup2

Always think of you when I go on the peoplemover/TTA.

Can't wait to see what Epcot brings!

Thanksgiving went by fast! Hope it went well for you!

You know I grew my hair out for the wedding. I don't want to cut it any time soon!

We do have a lot of luck with rides! Glad you think of me on the People Mover!

How funny that BTMRR barely had a line, but the Peoplemover had a weaving one! Good thing that's a quick load no matter what!

You're right! It was funny that other rides didn't have a line while the People Mover did!

Caught up! I love your pictures! You got so many pictures that are really clear and the sky is blue, and well it's Disney!

Thanks, some pictures turn out so good and then others turn out bad. My camera is weird!

Hi!! Thank you! That book is such a fun one to read! Glad you read it!

I hope you get to stay at a monorail resort sometime. It is magical!

Too cute that the ducks knocked on the door to get you to wake up and come out to play! :)

We love sitting in that area at Captain Cook's. It's a nice start to a morning, even if we only 'borrow' the Poly, since we have stayed there - yet.

I'm picturing that walking across the Adventureland bridge and hearing the drums and the music must have been quite exciting that morning!

Another great day! Excited to see your purchases and what you ate/drank around the world.

I also really like your long/dark hair, it's very flattering on you!

Congrats on getting married! :goodvibes You guys look like you got a lot done just in the short time frame of one morning at MK. I can't wait to read the rest of your trip report.

I miss those ducks!

Isn't that area so nice?! I think everywhere on the Poly is nice.

Yes, walking across the Adventureland bridge and hearing the drums/smelling the green peppers is always exciting!

Thank you! It took awhile for my hair to get this long, so I'm happy!

Congratulations! :bride: I can't wait to read about the rest of your trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for being here!

great report thank you

Glad you are enjoying it!

Congrats on getting married! :goodvibes You guys look like you got a lot done just in the short time frame of one morning at MK. I can't wait to read the rest of your trip report.

Day 2 Continued..

We left off hopping on the Epcot monorail at the TTC .

Honeymoon298.jpg

After I made it through bag check and we went through the turnstiles, I made DH take a picture.

Honeymoon299.jpg

Our plan was to drink, snack, and explore the different countries in WS. We didn’t have a particular direction we wanted to go, so we just decided to go to the right. We passed Club Cool on the way.

Honeymoon300.jpg

They had Phineus and Ferb topiaries! I had to take a picture of them for Little Guy.

Honeymoon301.jpg

And finally..we were in WS!

Honeymoon302.jpg

We decided to skip Canada because we would be back there to eat at Le Cellier later in the trip. Next up was the UK! I was dying to try some fish and chips, so I guess this place was perfect to get food from..haha!

Honeymoon303.jpg

There was a little area to the right of the place that was perfect to sit and enjoy our food. Here’s where our table was compared to where we got our food.

Honeymoon304.jpg

Oh my gosh, this was the best fish! And we found out that we love malt vinegar on it!

Honeymoon306.jpg

While we were eating, we had another little visitor. This time, he was an “old friend” from our 2010 trip. For those of you who read that TR, you remember that Little Guy called them “Daddy Long Legs”.

Honeymoon305.jpg

Seeing him made me a little teary-eyed. We laughed and talked about how much fun we had on that trip. We also talked about how much fun we were having on this trip already. We were doing the World much different than we usually do. We are usually go, go, go and eating at our favorite places, etcetera. This time, we were relaxing, going with the flow, and even eating at new places.

There weren’t very many tables in the area we were sitting, so as we were picking up our food, I waved down a family who was looking for a table. We threw away our trash and wandered into France.

Honeymoon307.jpg

Honeymoon308.jpg

I was so excited to get to France because that’s where I was going to have my favorite—Grey Goose Slushie! But first, we explored this awesome wine gift shop.

Honeymoon309.jpg

Honeymoon310.jpg

One thing DH and I love to do is try different drinks, whether it’s beer or wine. There were so many kinds of wine I wanted to take home and try! I kept them in mind in case I wanted to come back and buy a bottle of something. We then wandered into this little bakery. We checked out all the choices they had to offer and choose to split a strawberry tart. With that in hand, we headed out to get my drink and find a bench.

Honeymoon311.jpg

Honeymoon312.jpg

And then I got teary-eyed again. The last time I had a Grey Goose Slushie was with Kristen (xoktenox) and Chris. We talked about how much fun we had with them that night at Epcot. After we finished our snack and drink, we wandered to the next country. As we walked through the rest of France, I got excited when I saw Belle and the Beast meeting with people. If there wasn’t such a long line, I probably would’ve went over there.

As we went through Morocco and Japan, I for some reason didn’t take any pictures so forgive me! As we left Japan, we said “See you later!” because we were eating dinner that night at Tokyo Dining-a first time for us! Up next: the US!

Honeymoon313.jpg

I really wanted to do the American Adventure since we had never taken the time to see it. Before we went inside, we stopped and listened to the drummers.

Honeymoon314.jpg

They played a couple of songs including Yankee Doodle, and then they had us recite the Pledge of Allegiance with them. It was getting close to the next time for the American Adventure, so we headed inside. We explored the little museum area first.

Honeymoon315.jpg

I had to take a picture of Mark Twain because I love him. DH and I actually took a trip and explored Mark Twain’s real home and town.

Honeymoon316.jpg

More people were coming in, so we decided to stand near the entrance. I completely forgot about reading about the Voices of Liberty and got excited when they came out.

Honeymoon317.jpg

Honeymoon318.jpg

They were amazing!! I can’t remember how many songs they sang, but I could’ve sat and listened to them for awhile longer! Unfortunately, it was time to go in. One thing I hate about these kinds of shows such as the American Idol Experience, Fantasmic, etc. is being herded. I’m short, so I tend to get run over a lot! I just held onto DH’s hand and tried to stay with the flow. Thankfully, we made it to our seats without being pushed and shoved too much. I didn’t take pictures during the show, but I did take a picture inside the theater.

Honeymoon319.jpg

*Continued in next post*

*Continued from previous*

We really enjoyed the show and will be coming back! We headed to Italy next. It was starting to rain so we quickly explored Italy before going to Germany. We really wanted a bratwurst and some Oktoberfest beer, so we got both of those and luckily made it inside by Biergarten before it started pouring! All the tables were taken, so we found a little spot along one of the walls and enjoyed our drink and snack. We were right by the check-in desk for Biergarten, so the CM’s were hanging around trying to entertain the kids waiting for their tables. They were in a big circle with the kids kicking around a ball. That kept us entertained for awhile until the rain let up.

We decided to make a run for it and head to China. We looked through the gift shop there before heading to Norway.

Honeymoon320.jpg

Honeymoon321.jpg

Because of the rain, Maelstrom actually had a line! The wait was 20 minutes, so we decided to skip it and hit the gift shop instead. I saw a sweater I liked, but when I saw the price tag, I quickly hung it back up. I can’t remember how much it was exactly, but I think it was around the $200 range. For a sweater! I had to say hello to this guy:

Honeymoon322.jpg

After Norway, we checked out Mexico.

Honeymoon323.jpg

I was still full from our other snacks, so we didn’t get anything here either. I know..we really slacked on this drinks/eating around the World. Some day though, we are going to make it into every country!!

Even though Test Track was closed, DH still wanted to go check out the area. It was still lightly raining, so we were hoping it wouldn’t start pouring again as we were walking there.

Honeymoon324.jpg

Honeymoon325.jpg

DH was really sad TT was closed. I hated telling him the bad news before the trip. It’s his favorite attraction at Epcot. We decided to head to Club Cool next.

Honeymoon326.jpg

We’ve done this before, but we had fun trying the different drinks again.

Honeymoon327.jpg

We were having fun watching people try the Beverly! DH would always talk to people coming up to where we were and try to convince them to try it. It was pretty entertaining.

We still had awhile before our dinner ADR and wanted to ride Living with the Land. I know a lot of people probably think this attraction is boring, but we really like it. Of course, it was a walk on.
Honeymoon328.jpg

Honeymoon329.jpg

Honeymoon330.jpg

Honeymoon331.jpg

Honeymoon332.jpg

Honeymoon333.jpg

Honeymoon334.jpg

Of course, Soarin’ was out of the question with the usual crazy long line! We decided to start heading back to Japan for dinner. We still had a little time, so we stopped in Innovations on the way. They had this pig game that taught kids about saving money. We played it and thought it was very cute!

Honeymoon335.jpg

Honeymoon336.jpg

By the time we were done playing, we needed to get to our ADR for 7:30. I was so excited to eat at Tokyo Dining because I am a sushi fanatic. I could eat sushi every day! I stopped to take a few quick pictures before we went inside.

Honeymoon337.jpg

Honeymoon338.jpg

Honeymoon339.jpg

We walked in and were amazed. It looks so neat in there. The bar where they make the sushi changes colors. The rest of the restaurant is in this big open room with lots of windows looking out. It was fun. I had a salad with ginger dressing and the sushi combo. I also ordered the Spicy Philly Roll even though it wasn’t included in our DDP. DH had the pork belly appetizer and sirloin. He also tried a few of my sushi rolls. For dessert, we both had ice cream. I had chocolate and DH had vanilla. Instead of getting a water or beer, we decided to both try the iced green tea. We really enjoyed the entire meal. Everything was good!

By the time we were done eating, it was 8:45. We wanted to hurry and beat Illuminations starting at 9, so we did the quick “mall walk” towards the front of the park. We did good! I snapped this picture as we headed to the monorail:

Honeymoon340.jpg

We had to wait a few minutes for the next monorail. As ours was pulling into the station, Illuminations started! Good timing! Since our room was so close to the TTC, we just walked back to our room from there. We sat on our balcony, enjoyed the view, and waited for Wishes to start at 10. I didn’t bring my camera out, so all these were taken on my phone:

After the finale, we clapped and decided we could get used to watching Wishes every night if we lived there. If only we could!

It was the perfect ending!

It was so yummy!

No, I am going to look them up tonight when DH gets home!

Sounds like you had such a great day. Epcot is not my favorite but there are so many things there we haven't tried. Maybe if we tried some new things my opinion would change. My DH on the other hand loves Epcot.

Wishes from your balcony would be a PERFECT ending to any day!

I've always wanted to try the fish and chips from the UK pavilion. They look so yummy! I bet watching Wishes from your balcony was amazing! :thumbsup2
