Dwarf Mine Train Ride

My family and I are planning an early February 2014 trip to the World and I desperately need to know if the new Dwarf Mine Train ride will be open? I know the rest of the new Fantasyland is all done and I would bet my last dollar that they will have the new Mine ride open by next holiday season. Anyone out there know anything at all?

From what I heard, The Snow White rollercoaster ride should be open late 2013.

In what world does Disney need a new attraction for the holiday's? Disney is mobbed the last few weeks of the year.

The official opening date is sometime in 2014. You might get lucky February 2014, you might not.

You want speculation. Disney would have said something like opening early in 2014 if they were planning on opening it in 2/14.

edited to add Given the announced 2014 opening date I don't think Disney would pay even a single dollar of overtime to ensure an earlier opening. Some people are saying one reason for the 2014 is budget. Spread out the costs of the new Fantasyland.

You "desperately need to know". Easy. You must assume it won't be open.

2014 opening date means it has to open by the end of 2014. Booking a trip possibly 10 months before the opening date of an attraction you want to see might be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Construction has started. I'm sure Disney could have it ready to open by the end of 2013. My point is Disney has give us absolutely no reason to think construction is scheduled at a pace which would result in the attraction opening next year (2013).

Im one of the Tom Staggs presentations during the Fantasyland opening he said it would open "Spring 2014" which I believe it the first time they have publically narrowed it down from just 2014. The internal timeline for opening has been first quarter of 2014 since the start of construction.

When in doubt always assume it won't be open yet! Then you won't be in for a heartbreak if it isn't open and you'll be pleasantly surprised if it is.

+1 Early February isn't Spring. Unless I'm misreading the OP it sounds like she will be heartbroken if it isn't open for her trip. Could be lucky but I don't see any reason to think it will be open that early.

As of today not even the shell is completed yet. It is much more complicated to build a rollercoaster, especially in the middle of the new fantasy land so expect they will go slow. They probably could have sped things up if they delayed opening the other parts of the new area.

Don't forget, they're are TWO sections left to open. The Princess Meet and Greet is listed of LATE-2013, and scheduled to open first. The mine car ride has always been slated for 2014. As PP said, recently its been said "Spring 2014". Because of the M&G is first, I seriously doubt you will see it open in 2013. The date right now is too far out to really target, but likely they will either want it open for Spring Break (Easter is April 20th in 2014) or shortly after for the summer season.

Therefore, the most likely official opening will be April or May 2014. A single ride will usually soft open a couple of weeks before official opening, but not a couple of months. SO, I would predict at this stage I would NOT expect the ride to be available February 2014.

However, with over a year to go, the schedule could be flexible by months either way, so its not impossible it could be open.

My call: Assume it won't be. If it is absolutely critical to you, don't book your trip until the date is firmer. They'll probably be narrowing it down pretty tight by next August at D23 convention.

Officially it is still just 2014. My guess is it will be ready for the summer season that year with soft opening around March/April of 2014.
