Disney Camper Decorations - Don't Laugh at me...NEW QUESTIONS! 1/4

My family loves Disney, Star Wars and camping so we decided to do our camper in all Disney/Star Wars. All of the beds in the camper have Star Wars bedding and I have started looking for Disney Kitchen items (saw a lot of cool things when we were at Disney a few weeks ago but wasn't able to do a lot of shopping).

I have also been looking for outdoor Disney decorations. I just purchased some Mickey Christmas Lights - red and green. I found lots of "Christmas" Disney out door decorations but not a lot of "everyday" decorations.

Does anyone know where you can find Disney "everyday" decorations I could use all the time?

We are going to the Fort next year for 2 weeks - Nov. 23rd thru Dec. 8th. Is it too soon for me to use my "Christmas" decorations when we arrive on the 23rd? This maybe the only time we get to stay the extra week but we always go to the Fort the weekend of Thanksgiving. Is it OK that I use Christmas decorations the week of Thanksgiving even if we aren't staying in December?

I'm asking these questions because my Mom laughed at me when she saw the lights. She was like - "you don't plan to use those during the summer do you." I did! I want to have a Disney Camper all year long. Now I'm on the search for better lights - maybe all colors? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Allison

Heck Allison, don't let your mom put you off.

I have a Christmas string of indoor/outdoor lights that I hang on my popup awning whenever I am at the Fort like last March:

November next year is NOT too early to do Christmas Disney decorations. :santa: You'll get there and find others will already have a JUMP on you.

As far as year-round decorations, I'm no help. But I bet they're out there.

bama_ed, those aren't christmas lights. They are all year round awning lights with many colors. I've seen them many times and love them - but my dh hates awning lights (of any kind). He thinks they're tacky! So no awning lights for me :sad1:

Where have you seen them? I have looked all over and can't find the multi-color - only the red and green. I would love to have these.

Thanks! I believe I'm going to get some Christmas decorations to take with us each year when we go at Thanksgiving. I'm also going to continue my search for some "everyday" decorations or at least maybe some other "holiday" decorations - 4th of July, Valentine's Day, etc. If I can't find "everyday" ones then maybe I can at least change the holiday.

I can see what you mean, NoM! ;)

I bought them in Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square at the MK. How did they know that's what we campers want/need? :cool1:

PS - DH sounds pretty rigid. A little color on his camper might do him good! :smokin:

I just purchased those multicolored Mickey light strings from Disneystore.com. You have to search the site for them because they are under Holiday, not decor.:)

Can you send me the link or tell me what they are called? I've done a search using lights, multicolored, mickey, you name it and I've tried. I can't find them on the sight. Please help! I really want these.

Thanks!!!

Here is the link for them. Sadly, there are indeed sold out.

PS - they hit the website about a week before Halloween this year so you might check it at that time next year. That would still be in front of your trip, right?

Yeah.

Ebay has them with only a "slight" markup.

Ouch!

Thank you for all the links. I know the mark-up was high on the Mickey Lights but I just couldn't pass them up. I was scared I wouldn't be able to find them in the Multi-color again. I plan to use them each time we go camping so I fill I will get my money back in use. The Multi-color ones can be used year around.

I also purchased the Walk-Way lights on e-bay at a really good deal. I got two boxes so we could put three on each side coming out of the door of the camper. I have found several other items that I can use for Christmas at good prices so I will keep telling myself that the money I saved with the other decorations justifies spending the extra on the multi-color lights.

Someone also told me that Hobby Lobby has Mickey Out Door "everyday" decorations. I hope to get by there soon.

Thanks again and if you see any more cool decorations please continue to post them. Since we have decided to make the Fort our new Thanksgiving Tradition I plan to go all out.

You can always make the Mickey head lamps. My DH made a double one and we use it out by our pool in the summer. There used to be directions somewhere on this site. He changes the lightbulbs to match the seasons. :goodvibes

I did see those on here! I sent them to my neighbor and asked him if he would make me 2. I googled it too and saw a Minnie Mouse one that someone had made. It was so cute!!! I sent my neighbor the picture so I'm hoping I'll get something like that!!

Thanks!!!!

Another question - this time about the inside of your camper..,
You know those wall decals that you can put in a kids room - has anyone ever used one on the wall if your camper. I saw some Star Wars wall decals that I thought would be cute in my DS's room in our camper. I just wondered if they would stick the same way on the wall inside the camper like they do on the wall inside your house.

Thanks for any info!

I would NOT recommend the stick on decals. We put them in my son's room several years ago and they were nearly impossible to remove and it required sheet rock repair once we did. The walls of your camper are not like the walls of your home. They are a type of wall board with wall paper like covering that is all but impossible to repair. Don't stick anything to them that you are absolutely sure will come off.

That's what I needed to hear! Wanted to ask before I did it. I was afraid that might be the answer. DH thought it might damage the wall and if we ever wanted to sale to upgrade we would be in a world of hurt. Thank you for your response.

I use removable vinyl for my wall decorations in my new TT. I bought two famous painting images and just peel and stick to my trailer walls...and no residues and I have moved them several times....no damages to my TT walls.

Can't wait to take my TT to Disney for Christmas 2013! 13 days at a preferred site!!!!
