The Christmas decorations look amazing, I'm so envious. I haven't been to Disney at Chrisymastime since I was a little kid. We're hoping to plan an early-December trip in the next couple of years.

And I also can't wait to hear how your first trip "home" went! popcorn::

Hey Missy... :welcome: glad you've come down my rabbit hole...:lmao: The decorations are really pretty awesome... in the resorts and parks...

It was pretty sweet to go "home" ...;)

Hey there EYDF...and i'm very happy that you've decided to come along... :welcome:

Yay!!!!
You started! I can't wait to read about your adventures!
I hope you loved Beach Club....
Welcome Home!

I'm here! Thanks for the PM! Very excited to read about your trip! I DID finish your PTR, which was wonderful!

Onto the trip, though! Those early flights are brutal...especially when having to wait for that necessary coffee!! But, :woohoo: for getting in early in the day!

I've never taken the Magical Express....but, think it looks like a great "welcome" to the world and way to start the magic!

The Beach Club looks gorgeous! May need to check that out one of these days!

Looking forward to more!

My mom is the same way with her morning coffee...it is an absolute must-have!!!

Glad to hear that you made your flight OK!

Yay for the Beach Club!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

I'm here!!!

And yay! You've arrived at the Beach Club!!

I SO hear you about the coffee thing...I just wouldn't be able to go that long without a real cup I don't think! It would have thrown off my whole day. Hopefully you didn't feel so quiet "out of body"-esque by later in the day. (and I know JUST that feeling that you are talking about, been there! We are total addicts...)

(I've made up a story in my head that the people who live in the Grand Floridian vacation in the more relaxed Beach Club...)

 that totally makes sense to me! It works. ::yes::

Hey Mary Ellen...:welcome: I met a couple friends of yours over at the Boardwalk...;)

:faint:

Did they go by the name of Todd and Paul?

:rotfl2:

I love your introductions. I didn't even realize Emily didn't go with you. but I totally understand. She has this summer to look forward to.

I am always feeling like I am running late to the airport, but its usually in the coming home direction.

I have to laugh at the McD's supernaturally hot coffee. I agree - their coffee is insanely hot. I prefer Wawa - perfect every time and cheap. I am so into cheap coffee. Plus I love throwing a little pumpkin cappuccino in my coffee this time of year. Yum.

How wonderful to be arriving at your home for the first time. Such awesomeness! Do you already have addonitis? I bet you do! :rotfl:

I'm joining in! Congrats on going on your first "welcome home" trip! DH and I are hoping to buy DVC sometime in the next couple of years and we will probably go with resale as well. I can't wait to hear all about your trip :)

I'm here! :cool1:

Wow, cutting it close there getting to the airport, that's my worst fear, that's why I always make us leave soooo early! :rotfl:

Yay for being welcomed home! I hope I can buy a small resale DVC contract in the next few years, and I'd probably buy at the Beach Club if I could!

Joining in! My mom is also a huge Mary Poppins fan, and we went to see the musical together - it was great! I also just read Carroll's Alice in a children's literature class that I'm taking, it is such a great story.

Your poor husband being stressed, good thing you all made it there on time though!

Isn't the "welcome home" the best? We stayed at AKL last year and loved this (even though we aren't DVC members…yet…)

Looking forward to reading more!

AS soon as we began to drive I noticed that Hatter's body language was all off... he seemed really tense... really really tense... and he didn't even appreciate any of my attempts at humor...( and really who can't normally appreciate my humor?...). He was really flustered at the drive through at MickeyD
s... I'm not sure he was even speaking English the first time he ordered... and apparently neither was the girl on the other end because she asked him to repeat his order...

David on the other hand, while bleary eyed was pretty much the trooper in the back seat...

Along with my oatmeal I did get a McD's coffee but it was so blasted hot... like rays of sun hot...I'm not sure how they get it that hot...so even I couldn't drink it for at least 15 minutes... and I in the mean time I discovered exactly what was wrong with my husband...

Me: (having forgotten...it being so early) "Honey, what time does the plane take off?"

He: "At 7."

Me: (realizing something) "Ummm what time does that mean it boards?"

He: "At 6:30."

Me... "Ohhhhhhh." (looking at the clock on the dash which now read 5:15-hmmm thinking hmmm that means we have to get to the airport, leave the car, curbcheck, go through security and get to the gate...) I now knew exactly what was wrong... we were cutting our time pretty tight... one wrong move... no plane for us...

Me... "Shouldn't we have..."

He... "Yes." Alrightly then... he obviously didn't want to talk about it... but he drove, drove, drove....and the car shuttle service got us to curb check in by 6... and we got through security pretty quickly... were at the gate by 6:20 -I even had time to get a really awesome cup of coffee that wasn't super naturally hot...

yikes!!!!! I can.not.function without coffee that early, we'd have set it to make the night before. I was very stressed reading this, early morning flights stress me out, we had a similar experience a couple of years ago...and missed our flight. We actually cut it a little close yesterday as well.

after the first minute of greetings and happiness... I took David over and around to see the fab lobby... I really like the Beach Club lobby... it smells really good-especially right now with the gingerbread carousel and it is warm and elegant without being stuffy. (I've made up a story in my head that the people who live in the Grand Floridian vacation in the more relaxed Beach Club...)

I laughed out loud reading this, love the story in your head, it's perfect.

I'm here...thanks for the heads up. I'll be back when we get home to catch up.

Well that lean timeframe to make your flight on such an early morning certainly made things interesting! Glad there were no issues and you made it in time ...and got your coffee fix :thumbsup2

Gotta be nice to have such a short flight time and to get down there so early! We had a 4:30am wake-up and still didn't get on property until almost 5pm. Purchasing the resale DVC membership and then adding in increments sure seems like the way to go. We're probably going to do the same sometime down the road.

We should have stopped in at the Beach Club ...we almost did. That carosel looked awesome! So glad you got your "welcome home" and checked in. I'm looking forward to hearing how the next chapter of your adventure went :goodvibes

Oh dear... Today is not the most magical of days at least at my house...Both of the children (OK- Alice you may not be a child but you WILL always be my child...) are sick... I'm nursing Rabbit who has a nasty stomach bug... he can't keep anything down...:scared: and Alice has a nasty respiratory thing going on :scared: but went to school since she decided she would feel worse if she stayed home worrying about what she was missing... So either way... pick your poison... I'm going to do some responding and hopefully a short update while Rabbit is dozing ... He's so stoic too when he's sick... it makes me feel somehow worse...:sad2:

Yay!!!! A real Magical Express!!! Perfect! I think if hubby thought you would be cutting it close he should have mentioned something BEFORE the day of departure!!

It was really exciting to see the ME... Poor Hatter... I really do think he somehow miscalculated in his head the night before... I could tell by his body language that he was screaming in his head... I didn't even have the heart to tease... :rolleyes2

I want to tell you, too, that reading your ptr, you are alot like me. I was instantly connected to you through it! And you have my daughter's hair! I've just been calling her princess Merida now. :lmao:

Well I'm really glad you're here...it's always nice to have a kindred spirit...:goodvibes I hope Victoria loves and embraces her hair... it took me till my twenties...but curly hair has a lot of character and can really be very, very pretty when you treat it like curly hair-not straight... Yes -we now have Merida as a curly Princess Mascot...princess: Curly Girlies Unite!

I don't think I ever commented on your PTR, but I read it, and now I'm here for your TR! :goodvibes

Hey Alicia :welcome: and thanks for subbing on...:)

Joining in ;)

I'm here! Thanks for the PM! Very excited to read about your trip! I DID finish your PTR, which was wonderful!

Thank you and really glad you're here...:welcome:

Onto the trip, though! Those early flights are brutal...especially when having to wait for that necessary coffee!! But, :woohoo: for getting in early in the day!

Yes... for all of my complaining... the early flight really was the way to go...

I've never taken the Magical Express....but, think it looks like a great "welcome" to the world and way to start the magic!

The Magic Express is a big motorized coach version of Cinderella's Coach except it's going to WDW instead of the ball...and it's filled with Dis Crazed Traveling Strangers...:drive:

The Beach Club looks gorgeous! May need to check that out one of these days!

Looking forward to more!

BC really is lovely and it has a really warm vibe and it's convenient and...
