Fireworks Glow With The Show Section?

I can't find an answer to this anywhere and I am hoping someone can help.

I read on another blog that Disney was testing out having a special viewing section for the Holiday fireworks for people wearing their Glow With The Show ears.

Is this something that has been happening every night or was it a brief test?

I am trying to decide if I want to pack my ears for the flight where suitcase space is at a minimum.

It will be worth it to get a reserved view of the fireworks, but otherwise I'll probably leave them here.

Thanks all!

:)

I understood that the fireworks were doing GWTS every night. I don't know if there is a special section -- there was for the first night. Ask a few CMs when you get there to see if there is one.

It is true. When I watched "Believe...In Holiday Magic" fireworks at the front of Sleeping Beauty Castle in mid November, the Glow with the Show Ears did light up and interacted with the show. I also brought my GWTS ears to see if it interacts with the show and it did which was neat to see. The lights on the ears tuned with the show and change different colors that match the show from light blue, red and green. When I was in MS, the ears from other guests did light up as well as mine when I was wearing them and I don't know if it is just in MS, but that is what I saw during my trip when I saw other guests wearing the ears.

Yep, they work e with the fireworks. Bought a pair last week and wore them. Someone in front of me had a pair and hubby said both pairs were in synch with the show. I think they will work with Fantastic as well.

I think the original question was not so much if they work with the show but rather if there was a reserved or special section for those with GWTS ears.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I wasn't planning to bring my GWTS ears and carry them around all day but if it meant access to a reserved viewing area I might go for it.

Was there on 11/29 and didn't see a special section; although there were those interspersed throughout the crowds wearing them. We were seated in VIP viewing and there wasn't one person wearing them there.

There is no special section that I saw for them. You just wear them and they pick the signal up and flash with the show. Not sure how far away they work in the park when the fireworks are going off.

The ears are $25 right?? And when you have them at home do they ever light up....my kids would really like them but they would also want them to light up when we got home!

I don't recall exactly how much they are - BUT I can tell you that they do light up at home as well. There is a small silver button on the ear that you can use to turn them on. The batteries will wear out even if they aren't "on", so you may need to replace them regularly if your kids want to have them lit often.

OK Thanks....my kids LOVE light up stuff so those will be great for them!!! And with this being our first trip ever to either Disney I def wanted them to get some kind of ears!!

They do light up at home and if you have two pair together they will synch up with each other is what I have seen posted and also was told my CM they did. They are $25 which includes the tax. One other thing, they are one size fits all and are rather "heavy" for small kids. My DS7 wanted a pair and we tried them on to find one where the chin strap was nice and tight to hold it on his head and after we bought them he walked around for about 10 minutes and didn't want to wear them anymore because the ears were so heavy that the hat kept sliding off his head regardless of the having the strap on. So you might have your kids walking around the store with a pair on for a few minutes and see if they really like them before forking out the $25. I ended up wearing the pair my son bought and they do get heavy after awhile.

I have to ask... How do you get VIP firework viewing?

Ok thanks for the tip!!! I def don't want to spend 25 for each kid for them to wear a few mins!!!

Yes, to add, the ears are $25 (with tax) or $20 (with tax, but the Premium AP discount). Nice how it works out round numbers!

I would also suggest trying them on before buying them. They fit differently than regular ears. The battery compartment is at the crown of the hat, so it might get in they way when wearing it. Also, it makes these ears heavier.

I bought a pair, but ended up holding them during the shows to see the effects. Unless someone around you is wearing a pair, the person wearing the ears can't see the lights.

I did notice that sometimes my ears had trouble syncing with the show (Mad T to be specific). I ended up turning off the ears and then turning them back on and it was fine. I noticed a few other ears also having problems on the shelf in the Mad T store, so this might not be an isolated issue.

I have to ask... How do you get VIP firework viewing?

It was graciously bestowed upon us after I wrote a letter to TDA due to an *oops* during a prior stay at an on-property hotel. Disney was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond in making it right.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately my last on property stay was fantastic ;)
