The only longhouse definitely is Hawaii. I would imagine they would probably work on at least one more at the same time, but no one seems to know what the schedule is. If you want to make a request it would probably be better to focus on what is important to you, rather than to name a specific longhouse, ie "close to GCH", etc.

thanks! It would be my brother's first time there and i didn't want him to be dissappointed. We would not be in Hawaii so that's ok.

We are heading to the Poly tomorrow! I've stayed there many times but this is first stay at the Poly for DH. And No kids! Wow this will be a different trip but one I'm looking forward to.

Since Hawaii is closed during our stay, we decided to book a cabana for our full resort day during our February trip. I'm so excited. We spend most of the day by the pool when we have resort days so this'll be wonderful. Whe we stay in Hawaii we kind of take turns going in and hanging out in the lounge and getting drinks for by the pool so this will be a perfect alternative and actually will probably even work out better. We booked the full day (10-7).

Does anybody here any any experience or knowledge of the dining options or massages in the cabanas? We tend to eat early so we'll still be wanting to hang out and eat in the cabana when we're hungry. I can run up and get food from Kona Island Sushi Bar for dinner and bring that down but if there's not a huge difference in price I'd rather have the attendant arrange it for us. For lunch I figure just grabbing something simple from Captain Cook's would work well though again, if there's not much difference in price to have the attendant arrange it then I'd much rather do that.

Nope. Not sure if/when that will happen. I think the original rumour was "around the end of the year", but I don't think there has been much more on that since.

My DS and I are booked for our first stay at the Poly October 16-20th. He doens't know yet. But last night he told me that he thinks he wants to wait to go to Carsland and on the Disney cruise. He said he wants to try the Volcano slide.

Am I raising this kid right or what.

We travel with my parents and they get a lot of use out of a balcony, so that is a must for us. I know that most of the longhouses don't have balconies, but we would be booking two MK view rooms and I was wondering what our chances are for getting balconies.

We stayed in MK rooms at CR in January and the view was amazing. DD could lay in her bed and watch the castle change colors and my parents would sit on the balcony and drink coffee in the mornings.

Any tips or recommendations you all can offer would be great!

Only the 2nd floor of most long houses don't have balconies. Request a 3rd floor room and you will be ok. If you're open to also having a patio instead of a balcony you can request a first floor room as well.

All of the longhouses have balconies on the third floor, but many don't have them on the second floor. WRT TPV rooms, the majority of non-CL are in Tahiti and Tuvalu. Tahiti is quite a large longhouse and has 2nd floor balconies, Tuvalu does not. Your best bet is probably to request simply "balcony." If you were to request just "Tahiti" you could end up on the first floor, which would have a patio area instead of a balcony.

Other considerations are that Tahiti is closer to the TTC while Tuvalu is very close to the GCH (restaurants, shops, monorail platform) and main pool. I don't know if those are things that matter to you. Either way, the Poly isn't a huge resort and not super spread out, like some of the others.

In our experience the Poly room assigners are pretty good at meeting requests. Good luck!

With all of our four previous trips we have requested connecting rooms. There was only one time that they couldn't accommodate us.

We are at the 72ish hour countdown and last night 4 year old DD came in my room several times to tell me she had insomnia because she was excited for Disney! Lol!

I have a feeling some allergy medication may be in order for the night before we leave since we have to be at the airport, over an hour away, at 5am.

I hope we don't become addicted as we'll have to wait even longer between stays to afford two rooms! I'm hoping the refurb schedule is released soon so I know what to expect.

Now to my question: We reserved a TPV room. I'm guessing we'll get Tahiti. Can you really see well from the ground floor? Or is it better to be up higher? I'm thinking of requesting a patio for ease of letting the kids go out and play, but want the view to be the best it can be as well! Looking forward to the suggestions/recommendations! Thanks!

I really, really loved Tahiti building, first floor with young children! You may or may not have a fabulous view--sometimes the vegetation is in the way. However, you'll definitely have a fabulous view, steps away form your room. Feel free to bring the kids out in their jammies. We're from New England, formerly NY, so for my kids, it was the greatest thing ever to walk out the door and play in the sand.

On a side note, however, the 6 of you are likely to feel crowded in that room. We felt crowded with 5 of us in there. But, the patio/outside space definitely helped.

Thanks for the info! My girls will be 7, 5, 3 and 8months when we go and love playing in the sand, so the patio/easy access sounds great! I grew up in New England, but hardly get up there anymore! Do you know if the sliding door locks easily? I know my wife will be concerned with that if we are on the first floor, even without a walkway directly behind us.
