Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

That's so funny that your brother is talking about how he can't wait to be back in Disney. What a change!!

I am also an absolute sucker for Finding Nemo the musical. I seriously almost cry every time. I just can't take it during "Where's My Dad". *sob*

Fire pits are okay in any temperature. :lmao:

That giraffe is totally looking at you taking that picture like "what...yeah...I'm tall....and?"

Hahaha. The bar is always one of my favorite places too. :rolleyes1

Dinner looks tasty and scrumptious.

First of all - welcome back. Can't wait to hear all about it. :thumbsup2

I know - talk about a 180 - right? But he is pretty psyched about going back. He needs a happy place and I think he finally found it. :thumbsup2

OMG - I love that song. I can hear it in my head. That little kid's voice - sniff sniff. That always chokes me up.

Fire pits are okay in any temperature. :lmao:

True - if they are at Disney.

That giraffe is totally looking at you taking that picture like "what...yeah...I'm tall....and?"

:rotfl: I know. Weird, right?

Hahaha. The bar is always one of my favorite places too. :rolleyes1

 Nothing like a cozy bar that makes great drinks!

Dinner looks tasty and scrumptious.

Dinner really was wonderful. We both really enjoyed it.

So I had good intentions to do an update tonight, but it didn't happen. I ordered a new amp for my acoustic electric guitar. I couldn't help it. It was one of those Black Friday deals on amazon. So, of course, I had to try it out tonight and I wasted a ton of time playing my guitar.

So - tomorrow - I promise. I gotta rap this TR up!

Sorry I haven't been reading as you update, but I am reading!! :goodvibes

Lol! Sparks are coming tonight. Pictures are all ready to go!!!

Hi there

Your report title caught my eye and I have read right through your trip report. It is great reading and I love how you just get on with it when things get "testy". Nothing like a liquid refreshment to put things back in perspective.

Your pictures are fantastic and I am really enjoying getting my Disney fix thru your report. Its wonderful how you guys take the time to write up your trips and it gives those of us who live far away such joy. Thank you :worship:

Looking forward to the rest and keeping up with your future reports too. :goodvibes

:welcome: Disneykiwi!!!!!!! Thanks so much for reading my entire TR. I am honored.

First - I have to tell you that I actually visited New Zealand 20 years ago. Yup - almost 20 years to the date. It was the most fabulous country ever. I was enchanted. We stayed on the north island because our friends (K&T - from Daytona Beach) where actually in NZ during their sail around the world. They stayed in your lovely country for 6 months. We met up with them in Aukland. I loved it there and if I ever get a chance to go back to NZ I will. The country was so clean, the scenery was outstanding, and everyone was so so so friendly. :goodvibes

I am so glad you enjoyed my TR. I quickly found that the TR forum was my favorite forum on the boards. I love reading about other people's trips to Disney - so fun!

Looking forward to the rest and keeping up with your future reports too. :goodvibes

Thanks. I am going to be wrapping this up soon, but after that I will start my October F&W TR. :thumbsup2

Sparks Fly and Good Bye!

In my last update we had just finished dinner at Sanaa. It was our last day in the world and our last few hours before we needed to hit the hay and head on home.

So what were we to do?

Well, the only park that was opened was MK. It was a possibility, but the more I thought about it, the more I decided it would be fun to watch Wishes from the Poly Beach. Why the heck not? We had transportation.

So off we went to the Poly. We still had some time before Wishes started, so we wondered over to the pool area. I told Denny I wanted to find a quiet pool and check it out.

How many quiet pools does the Poly have? Is it one or two?

Here's the one we went to

IMG_5477.jpg

Seriously, how pretty this is pool and doesn't it make you just want to jump in?

IMG_5478.jpg

I can totally see swimming by the light of a tiki torch

IMG_5479.jpg

From the pool we followed a little path that took us to that little look out area along the water. I know it has a name. I just can't remember what its called. I know I have seen wedding ceremonies held there. Ugh - help me out here.

Anyway - it looked like the Contemporary was right around the corner.

IMG_5483.jpg

And I could see the castle off in the distance

IMG_5485.jpg

I didn't really care for the view from this area so we moved back to the beach.

To the left - Narcoossee's

The GF

IMG_5488.jpg

We got situated just in time for the sparks to fly.

POW!

Applause Applause. Wishes was wonderful. Clearly its not as good as a holiday version like NY Eve or 4th of July, but it was good all the same.

One Wishes was over we decided to head back to the villa and start our packing.

Yeah - I know - Boo! But all things come to an end and this trip was one of them.

It didn't take too long until we ended up here

IMG_5740.jpg

It was time to go pack. Blech

This was on one of the doors near our villa

IMG_5751.jpg

We mostly packed before we went to bed. And before you know it, it was time to get up and moving towards the door.

I did go for one final run and then hurried back to do my final packing. that's when I realized that my "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was MIA. I remembered I had left it at the quiet pool while I was doing the cottage photoshot. I went back to the pool, but naturally my book was no where to be found.

I stopped at the front desk to check the lost & found, but the l&f man had not arrived yet. And we needed to go. Our flight was at 10:30 am. I'm not a big fan of early return flights, but Air Tran was the one who bumped the time up. And, quite honestly, I only had so many choices when flying into Lehigh Valley.

I did take some pictures of the room before we vacated.

IMG_5761.jpg

The safe was a little beat up

IMG_5763.jpg

I asked Denny to take a picture of how I was feeling on our departure day

IMG_5767.jpg

Somehow I managed to have enough time to take some outside pics

IMG_5771.jpg

This was literally right outside our door.

Spoiler alert - Cynthia and I stayed on the top floor of the center area in October. It was awesome.

We went back to the room to grab out bags and schlepp them to the car.

I kept hoping the Lost & Found Guy would call me about my book, but it never happened. Darn. I really want to read that book on the way home. (I eventually ordered a new one and finished it during our August beach trip. It was great! Read it!)

On our way to car

IMG_5800.jpg

IMG_5801.jpg

I read that the standard view villas in the rounded (corner) area of the building are really big with multiple balconies. Now that's a standard view I want.

IMG_5802.jpg

Our ride back to the airport was uneventful. Oh wait - no it wasn't. Somehow Denny ended getting off the toll road too early and then we had to backtrack and double pay the tool. Pure genius, I tell ya!

Finally made it!

We still had quite a bit of bottled water in our car that we never drank, so we gave it away to the girl who checked our car in. I think she was genuinely appreciative. That was nice.

In 1 hr and 55 minutes we made a final descent and landing into Allentown Pa. Right on time.

And just like a rock star we were at the luggage carousel in minutes.

A few minutes later we had our bags and were curbside waiting for Denny's brother to arrive.

So what's next? Well, you know I can never end a TR when it's supposed to end. Nope Can't Do It! So, my next update will be "firsts and foremosts". SticK Around!

Love the fireworks pictures. It's so neat that they can make heart and star-shaped fireworks now. That's impressive.

I liked this picture:

Neat perspective.

Too funny about Denny getting off the wrong exit and having to pay toll twice. Some highway planner should get a cut of that.

Seriously - how DO they do that? That should be on one of those Discovery Channel or History Channel shows were they talk about a certain process and what makes it work. It really was a great show.

Thanks. Not sure what made me decide to take that considering I was standing in the middle of the smoking section when I did.

I told him to go through the same booth and tell the guy we just paid 3 minutes ago, but he wouldn't do it. Chicken! :rotfl:

Absolutely Fabulous Fireworks

Sunset pointe at the Poly. That what you were looking for.

I usually sit right across from the castle. Either in a lounge chair or the swing if I can.

Sorry about the round about to the airport. One the reason I don't try to drive.

I'm disappointed in you Mary Ellen. No one around. Just you and Denny. A beautiful night. An inviting pool. And the "noodle queen" did not jump in! :confused3 :faint:

Sighhhh :lmao:

I love BWV. We were on the 2nd floor right above the Wyland Gallery. Addonitis is rearing it's head again in our house and BWV or BCV will be the resort of choice if the right deal comes along.

Great Wishes pics, great pics all around and a fantastic TR...as usual. I really enjoy your TR's very much. Can't wait for the next one. Not to rush you or anything but when will that be? :rotfl2:

What a great way to end your trip-- Wishes! Beautiful pictures of the fireworks!

My kids want to stay at the Boardwalk-- I want to try the Beachclub.. But they just think Luna pool is really cool... Maybe next trip or a possible split stay!

Love all the fireworks pictures, you got some really good ones! I especially love the hearts. Some day I WILL watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly. I meant to this last trip and kind of forgot and never got a chance.
I can't believe you're gone home! Glad to know it's not over though. ;)
I love all the pictures around the resort, some day I'm staying there. How gorgeous.

Absolutely Fabulous Fireworks

Thanks! I do not think the pack the same punch that your 4th of July fireworks do. Those are amazing. I will admit though, the finale was pretty cool.

It's Sunset pointe at the Poly. That what you were looking for.

Thank you. I thought there was pointe in the name, I just totally blanked last night.

AI usually sit right across from the castle. Either in a lounge chair or the swing if I can.

It really is such a great view. I do love watching the fireworks from the Poly and I really would love to do it on July 4th or NYE. I think it would be so cool.

Sorry about the round about to the airport. One the reason I don't try to drive.

Here's the thing - Denny has driven to the airport multiple times, so what the heck???????? And then he usually blames it on me because I'm not looking. Nice! :confused3

Sighhhh :lmao:

For a moment there I thought you were going to suggest that we go skinny dipping. :rotfl2: But I can see that your thoughts were much purer. :rolleyes1

So is that considered a Boardwalk view? I would think not because you aren't quite facing the Boardwalk. :confused3 I bet that was awesome. I have to say that I would trade my VWL points for BWV points, no question. But I do think its possible to get a 7 month stay or have a waitlist come through on most occasions. I so hope to be able to stay there next October. fingers crossed!

Great Wishes pics, great pics all around and a fantastic TR...as usual. I really enjoy your TR's very much. Can't wait for the next one. Not to rush you or anything but when will that be? :rotfl2:

Thanks!

Thanks!!!

And the next TR will be a joint venture between Cynthia and myself, so we have to come up with a title. I have an idea, but she probably has some of her own. I hope to do a couple more things with this TR. It was so long it deserves some kind of summary and then I have to go over all my "firsts".

What a great way to end your trip-- Wishes! Beautiful pictures of the fireworks!

Wishes is definitely the way to go out on a high note. It was perfect watching from the Poly. Loved it. And thank you!

My kids want to stay at the Boardwalk-- I want to try the Beachclub.. But they just think Luna pool is really cool... Maybe next trip or a possible split stay!

You can't go room with either resort. Having stayed at the villas at both, I have to say that I now hold a slight preference for the Boardwalk. I don't know why exactly. I just think the general views are better and the pool setup is better. I mean SAB is cool, but I just like the way things are laid out at the Boardwalk. Split stay sounds good, too!

I see your trip is just around the corner. You're so lucky. I know you are going to have a wonderful time!

Love all the fireworks pictures, you got some really good ones! I especially love the hearts. Some day I WILL watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly. I meant to this last trip and kind of forgot and never got a chance.

Thank you and you know that always means so much coming from you since your firework pictures are A-MAZING!!!!!!!

This is only the second time I have actually watched from the beach. I think I did it one other time with the kids, but it was pretty rush rush because we had just finished dinner and Wishes had already started when we got there.

I can't believe you're gone home! Glad to know it's not over though. ;)

Yup - our ten nights of Florida awesomeness is over, but now I will work on my recap and final thoughts.

I love all the pictures around the resort, some day I'm staying there. How gorgeous.

You will love it. It's such a fabulous resort. It is really high on my list as one of my favorites. My last stay there really solidified it. I hope I get to stay there again in October!!!!!!

Sounds like a wonderful last night!

I love all the pictures of your farewell tour around BW :thumbsup2

As for your ride back to MCO, it is so easy to get turned around and going the wrong way! In September my dad got lost everytime he got behind the wheel :rotfl2:

Wonderful TR Mary Ellen, thanks so much for sharing with us :)

That poor Denny, he gets turned around a lot at Disney... Maybe you should start driving.

That sad picture of you leaving made me sad for you too! I hate leaving day.
