Oh, Just A Few GALLONS of Pixie Dust! - A July/August 2012 TR

Love the shirt...very cute!

I hope you are able to find your pictures soon. We'll be here waiting for you...no worries! :goodvibes

Thank you! I love it hah.

Me too! Oh my goodness. It's quite frustrating. But thank you! That's good to know. :goodvibes

Cute shirt Marissa!

No worries on the updating. It's keeping me from getting behind!:rotfl:

Thanks! I'm so excited that it finally came!

Hahha, good point! :lmao:

Aww, yay, I'm glad you got your WS shirt! :cool1: I have the American Adventure one and love it, wish so bad that I'd gotten the Norway one, as well! Aren't they super soft? And the Epcot30 logo on the sleeve is so subtly awesome.

Yes!!! They're so ridiculously soft and comfortable. I wish all Disney shirts were like that! Now I wish I'd gotten the UK one too!

I've just read through all the posts so far and I love it!
Feel like I'm there with you and your family.
It's giving me a few idea's for my next family trip:hyper:

The One With the Final Adventures in Hollywood

Day 5: Thursday, August 2, 2012

The plan for this day was basically nonexistent. The only sure thing was our lunch ADR.

My parents and Jacob decided to hang back for the time being, but Anna and I had to go get our thrill on at...

(Where else but) Hollywood Studios!!!

I was ready for hours and hours before she was. Or ya know, a few minutes. When you're ready to go on a Disney morning, even 20 seconds seems like too long to wait for someone else! She was finally ready and we went on our merry way to the bus stops.

Good morning, walkway from the Contemporary to Bay Lake Tower, aka the Skyway! (I don't usually greet things so specifically, but this felt like a special occasion.)

IMG_3470.jpg

You're beautiful and I miss you and I can't wait to see you again. (I do realize that is something someone would typically say to their significant other...
but that's just how I feel about that place.)

IMG_3471.jpg

There was a Disney College Program CM working as the bus attendant that morning. (Seriously though. What is that job called? The guys who stand there with the clip boards and talk to the bus drivers?) He was asking us a lot of questions about what we were doing that day and basically our life stories, and pretty much ignoring the other people waiting for busses. It was a little awkward, I've gotta say! He was nice enough though, so there's that. We got on a bus pretty quickly and we were the only ones on the entire thing! We stopped at Poly and whaddya know? Nobody got on the bus. Darn you people! Wasting my park time is not nice!

We were let off the bus about a million miles from the entrance and went through the long bag check line and the long turnstile line. If you couldn't guess, Hollywood was PACKED that morning. It hadn't even been open for 30 minutes! Unfortunately, TSM was already a SUPER long wait and the FP return time just wasn't great. DARN those enforced return times! I guess it just wasn't meant to be for me to ride one last time. :sad1: I was honestly extremely bummed, but I sucked it up and we turned down Sunset. After all, it's not all about me and what I want to do!

IMG_2119.jpg

The line for Tower of Terror was already 80 minutes, and once again the FP return times just weren't good! THANKFULLY, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster decided to do us a favor and only have a 30 minute wait. Waiting was pretty much our only option at that point! We didn't want to come to Hollywood, see the long lines, and bail! NO SIR!

The line started before you enter the building when you can still see Tower of Terror. I LOVE that spot in the RNRC line. There is something so exciting about hearing the screams coming from the Tower and seeing the lights flash. It makes me very happy.

SDC13356.jpg

The heat was back in full force and I was already sweating. I needed to call the parents after the ride to ask them to bring the fan along with them. I would have brought it myself but there is limited storage space on RNRC, as most of you probably know. I didn't want to break it when I had only bought it the day before!

I would never touch these beads because they have been cursed with the Everest Bell Syndrome. (You totally know what I'm talking about.)

SDC13359.jpg

I photographed but did NOT touch. That reminds me of a Wiggles song. (I am serious, actually. "You can look but you better not touch. [You better not touch. Danger! Danger!] Oh you can look, but you better not touch." I believe it was a song about snakes. I am rather proud of this knowledge.)

NOTE: Everest Bell Syndrome is not a real thing. I guess some people thought it was a real thing. Hahah, nope. Just a joke. END OF NOTE.

I am particularly fond of Recording Studio B, but I have to wonder what Recording Studio A is like... :scratchin

SDC13360.jpg

Hey, look everyone! It's my good buddies, Aerosmith! They were just hanging out in Disney. Isn't that lucky? It was a special day.

SDC13361.jpg

SDC13363.jpg

OMG... just... OMG. If that doesn't make you want to jump through your computer screen right now then I don't really know what to make of with you. AHHH take me home, someone. PLEASE.

The line took 15, NOT 30 minutes, thankfully. When we were getting in our limo, both my flip flops decided to come loose and one of them fell off completely! :scared1: I had to just pray it didn't fall out of the super stretch in transit. (Thankfully, it did not!)

The ride was SO much fun, as usual. I think the best part is right before the ride starts when you're anticipating the takeoff and Steven Tyler is yelling in your ears. AHHHH LOVE IT!!!

It's funny, before the ride I told Anna that my eyes always water on that ride, but this time they didn't and hers did, hahaha.

Our ride photo never showed up for some reason? No clue why, but it's probably for the best. I'm sure I was doing the 'I love you' sign instead of the 'rock on' sign, as per usual. I can never get those straight.

We looked around the gift shop for a while. Anna was hoping to find something for her roommate. The last time her roommate went to Disney, she bought something for her at-the-time-boyfriend, who is now her ex-boyfriend, and now she wishes she would have kept it! Unfortunately, Anna couldn't find anything like it. I guess it was a few years ago anyway. I found a RNRC pin that I really wanted but didn't get. Maybe next time. ;)

We left the gift shop and decided it was necessary to get pictures in front of the electric guitar. We rock that way.

SDC13365.jpg

Doesn't this just make you want to be there? UGH UGH UGH I can't take it. (As you can most likely tell, my Post Disney Depression has gotten bad. REALLY BAD.)

The waits for both rides had gotten even longer and we decided that in order to not be in a rush that we should head out soon. It was time to leave DHS for the last time this trip. BUT, not until we shopped our way out!

IMG_2120.jpg

We stopped into a store on Sunset, (I'm really not good with the store names at that park) and since I had little-to-no money to spend, I took the opportunity to call my parents to ask if they could bring the fan.

Extremely unfortunately for me, they had already left the room (without the fan... they didn't realize that I didn't take it). The good news is that they had been having a fun morning of their own! They took their time getting ready, had a nice breakfast at Contempo, and went to Magic Kingdom! They rode the PeopleMover, it's a small world, and the Mad Tea Party! Somehow they managed to not take one single picture though. :confused3

We stopped in a few more stores on Sunset and Hollywood Boulevard(s), where Anna tried to decide on a shirt to get. She couldn't. Instead, she got a travel mug (the kind that can hold both hot and cold beverages) and a box of Disney candy! I love all those clever candy boxes, however, I feel like the candy is all slightly icky. I mean, I would just LOVE the "Please Stand Clear of My Chocolate" one, but the candy is like chocolate covered nut clusters or something. Well thanks but no thanks? The one Anna got actually had gummy bears in it. Random, but she got it for the box alone. It said, "Just A Mouthful of Candy Helps the Wait Time Go Down." Har har har, get it? I certainly hope so at least.

(Thanks to the Disney Food Blog for that picture!)

After she made her purchases we really had to say goodbye to DHS. :(

We headed to the bus stops and waited about five minutes for a bus to our next destination. We were some of the few people waiting for a bus to leave. The crowds were just pouring into DHS that morning. It's definitely for the best that we were heading somewhere else!

The bus came and in no time we were at our next stop:

EPCOT!

This was the fourth day in a row that we were going to Epcot. The goal for the day was simple: World Showcase!

Continued in Next Update

OK, the two of us really need to go to WDW like right now. I don't know what it is lately but I am just DYING to go back! Maybe it's because it seems like everyone on here is going soon (or was just there soon), or because Emma's going soon for the CP, or the Fantasyland grand opening coming up (because let's face it...I pretty much feel like how Emma did when she couldn't go see the WWOHP right after it opened. I am convinced I am going to be the last person on earth to see it. OK, rant over now :rolleyes1). Anyway...

Boo to not being able to ride TSM one last time. But YAY for RNRC! I love the picture from the alley.

OMG Bay Lake Tower...I still can't believe I get to stay there in February!!! :cool1:

Ugh I'm not a big fan of the stupid FP return time enforcement either. :confused3 I didn't think it would bother me but it kind of does. It makes things really hard to plan later in the day. Sorry TSM was such a long wait, I wonder when the craziness of that ride is ever going to die down?

I didn't know about your black out on ToT!!! :scared1: That's so scary! I love that ride so much, I would be so upset if I couldn't ride it, but I can see why you have been hesitant. I would say maybe it's a blood pressure thing, but if you can handle RnRC, I don't see why ToT would do that to you...:confused3 Hope you get to ride it again!

All of your RnRC pictures ARE making me want to jump through my computer and land in Disney World!!! :( My Post Disney Depression is getting really bad too. I just wish I could be there all the time. :guilty:

Epcot!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

YAY for an update !! Bummer that you couldn't ride TSM. Four days in a row at Epcot?!?! What could be more glorious !!??

my favorite part of rnr had to be when it slows down a bit and you can see the highway signs and hear the aerosmith music playing! but that beginning part where you're about to go is pretty awesome too. my husband didn't know it was going to take off like that! I don't know how he missed that fact! lol.

Listen, girl I am so with you. Sometimes a few minutes in WDW waiting for someone feels like HOURS! Hahaha.

I'm going to say that position is the "bus coordinator". Let's make it sound official.

I would have cried if I was hopped up for a final ride on TSM and didn't get it. I'm not gonna lie.

Okay, I do touch that door at Rockin' Roller Coaster. I can't resist playing with the marbles.

I love it when Steven Tyler shouts in your ear! Three! Two! One!!!!

I have no idea with the Everest Bell Syndrome is? But I always touch those little marble things in the door. I can't help it. Isn't that what they are there for? :rotfl2:

80 minutes for T0T? What? Now that's some serious crowd action. I don't even think it was that crowded when I was there in June.

I love that picture of ToT taken from RnR. It's such a cool view.

oooh, I think I was only about 9 pages behind this time instead of 40. :rolleyes1 Getting better at staying caught up!

I have always wanted to try Garden Grill, mostly because the place rotates - I mean really, how awesome is that? And also becase the farmer clothes are too friggin cute. However, the menu is not as appealing to us as some of the other menus at the other TS places. One day maybe?

Sigh, I am so so so upset that MMY is gone, but I have heard the new castle show is good too. I will miss it for sure. How awesome that you got to watch it from the luxury of your room! :thumbsup2

Nice Queen reference there. I had to go back and reread the sentence in sing song voice.

Bummer that you couldn't do one last TSMM ride. At least you got in a ride on RRC.

Too bad that DHS was so crowded that morning, but at least you girls got one more ride on RNRC!

I would have been disappointed to miss TSMM too.

I agree! Is it that obvious that I miss it? :lmao: I think it's all those things that you mentioned, really. (Well, not the Emma doing DCP thing, at least for me! Hahah.) But also because it's almost December, and the last two Decembers I got to go to Disney and this one I don't! Ahhhhh I'm going insane. It's okay, you'll see it before you know it though! April isn't that far off! :goodvibes

Boooo is right, but hey, I'll be back someday. One of these days I'm just going to marathon that ride. It's a goal. THANKS! I love that pic too, it really makes me wish I was there!

OMG Bay Lake Tower...I still can't believe I get to stay there in February!!! :cool1:

Epcot!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

You will be obsessed. I'm giving you a fair warning here.

Yeah! This was really the only time it bothered me. Because of when our ADR was, it just wasn't meant to be unfortunately! Haha um... I'm not sure it ever will die down! It's the perfect ride so I totally get it. ;) It's also basically the only ride that ANYONE can enjoy, which I think is a big part of the popularity. Plus it's TOY STORY AHHHH. :hyper:

It wasn't as serious as it sounds, I promise! It has happened to me in the past on a ride at a local theme park, too. In fact, it has happened two or three times on that ride. It's been a while since I rode that though, I haven't even been to that park since 2006 or something. For ToT it was very brief but yeah, I basically couldn't see for a few seconds. I was aware of everything that was happening, I just couldn't see. It was creepy but I was completely fine afterward. It still confuses me a little, but yeah, that's basically why I've been wary of ToT!

They are having that effect on me too! My Disney Depression has been very severe lately. It's possibly why I didn't update for 12 days (which is basically unheard of for me)!

YAY for an update !! Bummer that you couldn't ride TSM. Four days in a row at Epcot?!?! What could be more glorious !!??

Yay! Sorry for the delay! Yeah, I wasn't really expecting to be able to ride TSM, but it was still a little sad. Hopefully I'll be able to ride it somewhat soon! It really was awesome being able to spend so much time at Epcot on this trip! I just love that park so much. :lovestruc

my favorite part of rnr had to be when it slows down a bit and you can see the highway signs and hear the aerosmith music playing! but that beginning part where you're about to go is pretty awesome too. my husband didn't know it was going to take off like that! I just love the whole thing, but the beginning before the takeoff is just SO EXCITING!!! I love it so much!

I love it when Steven Tyler shouts in your ear! Three! Two! One!!!!

I'm so glad you understand! Wasting my precious Disney time just isn't a fun activity.

Yes, yes. That will work out just fine. "BUS COORDINATOR." Yep, it's official. Job well done.

Hmm, well it's possible that I came really, really close to doing that myself. :rolleyes1

I'm always so tempted to, but I just don't want to cause the Domino effect! It's the Everest Bell Syndrome, I'm tellin' ya!

AHHHHH ME TOO. Ugh I miss it too much.

I have no idea with the Everest Bell Syndrome is? But I always touch those little marble things in the door. I can't help it. Isn't that what they are there for? :rotfl2:

BAHAHA. Well, it isn't an actual thing... but it's just like when you ring the bells in the Everest line. If one person sees someone playing with the marble doors, they will then play with the marble doors, and the marble doors will therefore never go 12 seconds without being touched. It's similar to the Domino Effect. I made it up. Genius, I know. ;) Hahahha.

I know, right? It was just weird for early morning. And usually I wouldn't believe it, but the line really did stretch for a while! It was bizarre.

Thanks! Me too, I just love that view.

oooh, I think I was only about 9 pages behind this time instead of 40. :rolleyes1 Getting better at staying caught up!

Bummer that you couldn't do one last TSMM ride. At least you got in a ride on RRC.

Nice! You're keeping up rather well, I applaud you.

Yeah, the rotation is definitely awesome. I say you should definitely give it a try one of these days! If you don't like it, you don't have to go back, but you might end up loving it! And if not, at least you got to see the cutest little farmers ever! :cutie:

Me too. I really hope it's just as good, because let's be real, MMY will be pretty hard to top! I'm excited to see it and decide for myself!

Hahah thank you! I like to take advantage of any opportunity to quote song lyrics! :rotfl:

It would have been nice, but it was just a super crowded morning. Next time! And yeah, at least we got to ride RNRC once!

Too bad that DHS was so crowded that morning, but at least you girls got one more ride on RNRC!

I would have been disappointed to miss TSMM too.

It was pretty crazy! We were glad to ride RNRC because it was actually our only time riding it the entire trip!

Yeah, I was pretty bummed. I just love that ride way too much, hahaha. Anna was more excited about RNRC anyway, so it worked out for her! :goodvibes

Everest Bell Syndrome! :thumbsup2 I like it!

Good thing you didn't lose your shoes on the ride!!!

Hahaha I COMPLETELY agree about those little boxes of candy! They look so fun and cute, but the candy inside is ALWAYS meh.

I love that view of ToT while in the RNRC queue! I don't even like ToT, but I love seeing it there while I wait. Plus, I agree, those screams do sound awesome while you're anticipating another roller coaster.

I would've been majorly bummed to have missed TSM, but I think my day would have been ruined if I couldn't have gone on RNRC, either. I'm glad you and your sister were able to go on that, at least. And yes! The countdown is the best part of the ride. I can close my eyes and imagine hearing it now, "Three! Twooooo! Oneeeee!" :goodvibes

Yay, Epcot again! I think 90% of us DISers could go to Epcot everyday of our trip and be perfectly content. It's that amazing...::yes::

I am caught up! I've been so busy- college is insane right now!

I love that view of ToT too! The screams are my favorite part! :goodvibes

RnRC is so amazing! I love it so much!!

Epcot again :love:LOVE! I could honestly go to that park everyday!

And I hear ya on the Post Disney Depression... wah!

Everest Bell Syndrome! :thumbsup2 I like it!

Good thing you didn't lose your shoes on the ride!!!

Hahaha I COMPLETELY agree about those little boxes of candy! They look so fun and cute, but the candy inside is ALWAYS meh.

Thank you!

Oh man, I know! I was so nervous it was going to fall out of the ride! I had to keep my foot in a really awkward position to keep it steady! Hahha but it all worked out.

Yeah! I mean, I had one of the gummy bears and it was pretty good, as far as gummy bears go. One day I just want to get a box so I can have one! Hahah. Maybe I can give the actual candy to someone else. :thumbsup2

I love that view of ToT while in the RNRC queue! I don't even like ToT, but I love seeing it there while I wait. Plus, I agree, those screams do sound awesome while you're anticipating another roller coaster.

Me too! Hahah yes, there is something so exciting about hearing people scream (ON A RIDE). It makes the anticipation worth it! AHHH love it. I'm a thrill junkie, clearly.

I'm glad too. I would have been bummed if it was a total bust! It's funny because usually (in my experience) RNRC is the one with the crazy line, but not this time!

I agree! Man, Epcot's the best.

I am caught up! I've been so busy- college is insane right now!

I love that view of ToT too! The screams are my favorite part! :goodvibes

RnRC is so amazing! I love it so much!!

Epcot again :love:LOVE! I could honestly go to that park everyday!

YAY!!! Oh girl, it's totally fine! I definitely get it.

Haah yes! Don't they make you so excited? :rotfl:

ME TOO!!!! :hyper:

I just love it so much! I'm with ya there! :thumbsup2

OH MY GOSH. Is yours as bad as mine right now? Goodness, I think I may actually be going insane...

Will you please explain this!:
I would never touch these beads because they have been cursed with the Everest Bell Syndrome. (You totally know what I'm talking about.)

No... as a matter of fact, I totally DON'T know what you're talking about... and after googling it and getting no help from Google... I'm a little upset that I don't know what that means or where that's from.
