*** OFFICIAL January 2013 Thread ***

:thumbsup2 Thank you to you and Josh, I learned something new today and will make the most of it for our January trip. :thumbsup2

All this discussion and reading about how to get the most out of a dining plan has led me to this awesome thread that lists every single item in WDW that counts as a "snack" item for the dining plan! :worship:

And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of "snack" items that could easily serve as breakfast or lunch! Soups, funnel cakes, fries, onion rings, cinnamon rolls, bagels, danish - so now I have a new project to work on. Making QS meal plans that could make use of my new found power to squeeze more food out of the dining plan! :woohoo:

:cool1::yay::woohoo: Tomorrow my ticker will no longer include months in my countdown because we will be within the 30 day mark! Can't wait to check out WBC and spend NYE at WDW. I am so excited to do some of the things that I can't do during spring break (when we usually visit) like see the castle in icicles, see the Osbourne Lights, and see Candlelight Processional! :cheer2:

So I got good and bad news today. Bad is I have a torn meniscus and will have out patient surgery on the 15th of January...11 days before I leave for the world. I placed an order for an ECV for the duration of my stay so I can take it easy on the repaired knee.

Bad/good news is that the Auto Train service on Sunday, February 3 has been canceled because of track maintenance. Good news is I was able to rebook for the next day on the train and add one night at BCV! Next week I can say "next month"!

OK I am sold, we should get the dining plan again and then use our TOW as needed. Now that I learned about child QS as an adult and the other snack options available. I will add the DP to our reservation after Christmas.

One last question, do they still have the waffles with nutella and fruit in MK?

Just saw these pictures from WDWMagic! Love it, and I'm pretty sure DD will too! Wonder if this will be fully open by the time we get there in January. Never been so excited about a new set of restrooms (and a meet and greet)! :lmao:

Ooooooh....seeing the tower and "hearing" the excitement of my 5 year old DD in my head when she sees the tower...now I am SUPER excited!! 8 weeks till we leave!

WooHoo!!!! :woohoo:Picked up our 4-day Park Hopper military tickets today. Oh my gosh its so close!!! Now I have to pack and I am so overwhelmed, I dont know where to start. There was a great packing list post that I came across a while back and saved but, I still just dont know where to begin.

My personal strategy is to wait until the day we're leaving and pack about a half an hour before we leave. I haven't forgotten anything yet! :goodvibes

I realize this probably won't work for most normal people. :rotfl:

Hahaha! Hey, whatever works for you! :D

I might end up doing that this trip, since we've never gone in the winter and I'm confused as to what to bring. Also, I am hosting Christmas and a huge 75 birthday party for my dad on January 1 and DD has a horse show that weekend. That gives me 2 days to get the Christmas tree to the curb and pack our bags. Hmmmmm.... Who's idea was it to go this time of year?!? LOLOLOL

The only time Ive even been to Disney, I went with 3 other adults and this was my method! Worked great but, now I have 4 kids to try and pack for (secretly, decided to surprise. Kinda regret that now. lol) and I just dont know where to start. Im thinking of doing the zip lock method for our smaller 2 but that wont work for our older ones. I guess the first thing I should do is clear some room in my closet to lay these bags out. Lol Hey, its a start. Baby steps. :thumbsup2

So the rumors were true about Rapunzel

I've been asking some of the more knowledgeable DISers on whether the rumors of a Rapunzel meet and greet in this new location is true. The general consensus appears to be that while Disney has not made any official confirmations or denials of this rumor, it is less likely to happen based on a chat with an Imagineer a few weeks ago who stated that there will not be a meet and greet.

Patiently waiting for New Fantasyland and Test Track to fully open next week so that I can start gauging what kind of wait times and fastpass distrubution times they will have so I can start figuring out our touring plans!

My Magical Express packet came today along with our WDW tickets. I'm sooooo ready to head to Florida. If only this month would fly by. pixiedust:

Look out WDW, we're there starting New Year's Day!

Ackh we are going in almost one month!!!!
I feel so ill prepared!!!
I'm debating using magical express to go from aoa to airport on way home (on way there coming from another part of Florida with rental car) vs keeping the rental car. Which is going to be easier? We are trying to go to eat at chef mickeys on our departure day and flight is at noon

Thoughts?

So they just randomly plonked Rapunzel's tower up top a bunch of bathrooms? If I were Rapunzel, I would not be flattered. :p
