FABULOUS free upgrade!

just got my friend a great upgrade! I had booked her family trip for her on my acct since she does not do the internet.Her family of 5 is going Dec 27-Jan2.They WERE booked at Port Orleans for about $4500 for the week with tix and meals.I got an email offering an upgrade for them so I called and they SCORED the POLY!!!! Very nice, the cast member was excited too! She had a supervisor helping her with the upgrade and came back on the line and was all excited! I ran the numbers and the difference is $3000

do not give up if at first you don't succeed.
I had called on Monday and read the pin code email to them. It offered an upgrade to AKL,Saratoga or Key West. I told her I was so excited at the thought of AKL!! She had me on the line for about 20min as she tried to figure out an upgrade. She came back on the line and said that she could not find me a room sadly. She told me to try again in a few days and see if someone canceled. Luckily I did try again on Tues and scored the deal--at the Poly which was not even listed on the email!!

What room catagory were you booked in? We are booked 12/20-1/3 @ POR AB section since we have 5 and just keep hearing about these upgrades. We have always been overlooked for these upgrades and assume that this means that POR is going to be filled to the gill with guests Congrats to all those that are getting them and hope you have the best time What a great gift Merry Christmas

Awww, you are sweet! If this is your friend's first trip, they are in for a spoiling. It is a very rare treat to receive such an upgrade from a value/mod to Poly.

In the past I have also booked trips for family/friends under my account, but later learned after doing so that Disney keeps records of account upgrades/comps...even celebrations.
