Wreaths for the door?

Has anyone tried to put an actual wreath on the door? Not meaning a real one made from trees, just the fake tinselly one... Or did anybody have issues getting one through security for just the room? I'm trying to make door decorations for my dream cruise this weekend... I bought a wreath for my door but I never seen anybody here through photos have one... Thanks to all who can help...

If you have a magnetic hook for the door to hang it on, I don't see why you couldn't.

I have never seen one onboard, but I would assume you can bring one. One thing is that the doors close fairly tightly so an over the door wreath holder may not work. Maybe you could make a Magnetic Wreath image to fit around the stateroom number.

I was going to make just a flat wreath, but it wasn't going so well... I wasn't going to use an over door thing, the wreath I bought has the green wire frame in the back, and I am going to use those 3m clips from the stick and peel hooks things, instead of using adhesive, I was going to hot glue magnets to the clips... I think I am more worried about putting the wreath through security... I guess the worst thing that could happen is they just take it, the wreath only cost a few

You cannot put anything sticky on the doors...tape, hooks, etc. I would look for a magnetic hook instead or, as someone else suggested, make a flat wreath magnet to go around the stateroom number.

We are making a wreath for our cruise on the Magic on the 8th of December and we bought a magnetic hook from Hobby Lobby. We got a small wreath from Joann's with some wreath picks and using some ribbon to make a bow.

We made one of these. Unfortunately, you can't get Home Depot Mickey Paint Chips anymore. But, it worked wonderfully when we cruised. We simply put magnets on the back.

If you have a Cricut or a friend with one and have the Mickey cartadge it makes different size Mickey heads.

These are adhesive and are not permitted on the doors. Besides, they don't always work.

I cannot think of any reason why you couldn't take a wreath through security. They don't allow light strings on the ship, so you may not be able to take it aboard if it has lights on it.

This is like the one I made for our Christmas cruise 2011. On the ribbons hanging down I wrote "our Surname" "Family" in hopes that no one would take it if it was personalized. It fit perfectly around the circle cabin number on the door.

We are stealing this idea right now for our trip Dec. 19th-Dec. 23! We are planning to put our name in yellow stars on it to cut down on the chances of it disappearing!

My 10 yr DD is super gung ho and is doing it all! Thank goodness for crafty kids!
