Tried to take the Fam for the Kitchen Sink yesterday at 3pm, and were told we had a min of an hour and a half, because they were seating a party of 16!! Am i off base in thinking that seating a part that large is just wrong? no one else could get in because they took up half of the place.

Guess i am just irritated and disappointed........

Whats the difference if there is one party of 16 or four parties of 4??

Seriously, think about it for a sec..there is absolutely no difference, a wait time is a wait time

OK, There actually was a difference. To accomodate them, a LOT of tables sat empty waiting until all of the party could be seated, while smaller parties could have come and gone. It backed everything up.

AFAIK, Beaches and Cream only takes walk ups. Whether it's one person or 16, it's first come first served and you wait your turn. Sucks if you're the one at the end of the line, but such is life.

What other option did they have?:confused3 Are they suppose to tell the party of 16 "Sorry - you have too many in your party..you can't eat here?" They were there before you and they have just as much right to be seated as your party does.

How disappointing! One of the downsides to B&C being such a tiny place

Yes, you're off-base. A party of 16 has just as much right to be there as your entitled family. Get there before them next time.

It does kind of stink. But at the same time it is first come first served. Even if they were a larger party. We have a large party when we go out sometimes. Sometimes we sit all together and other times we are told we may not be seated all together. Just like Disney reservations. B & C is a walk up so no advance notice. And the group had as much right to dine as any one of us.

That party has just as much right to eat there as your party does. I am not sure why you would think otherwise.

I thought this was a place we could all vent - for all of you that are saying the OP is wrong, think about it - if you were really in his/her shoes, wouldn't you be at least be a little bummed?

And the super helpful answer of "get there first"? Yeesh,,,

Sorry OP - while a big party has every right to be there, I still feel your pain - tough break :(

. . . Am i off base in thinking that seating a part that large is just wrong? no one else could get in because they took up half of the place . . .

. . . no, not off base.

. . . big difference
. . . lots of lost revenue with such a large party
. . . too little table turnover
. . . too many seats lost when tables are pushed together

I'm not sure they could even push tables together at B&C because the tables are all round (except the booths and counter, which can't be pushed anyway).

There have been times when I've stopped by B&C and been told the wait would be an hour, and I just went elsewhere. It doesn't really matter why the wait is so long - it is what it is and you either wait or you go elsewhere. My limit for waiting there is about 30 minutes. Since I'm usually solo or two people, I usually ask for the counter to try to be seated faster. The counter wouldn't be too conducive to sharing a KS, although I've seen people do it before.

I'm sorry the OP was disappointed. Although they had the option to wait (and the wait could have been shorter or longer than stated - you never know), they decided to take their business elsewhere, which I totally understand. Personally, I think they should move the arcade and expand B&C since it's so popular.

Venting about the wait is one thing. Stating that the other party was somehow doing something wrong is another.

Disney has obviously decided not to impose a maximum that is less than 16 at this restaurant. Therefore, your points are irrelevant and pertain to things that come from Disney's point of view, not a customer.

First of all - my guess is that the party was seated at separate tables there and likely were seated staggered too.

Secondly - an hour and a half is not THAT far off the 'norm' for that place - even without a large party.

We waited a bit over an hour there for our dinner...And we thought we would be way less than that since we got there at about 2:30pm.

So you would likely have waited close to that long with or without that party.

WOW has this place gotten nasty!

At what point did I say they had to right to eat there? ? ?

I didnt.

I was simply stating that it was disappointing to us that we could not eat there because a very large party had the whole place clogged up..

You did ask if it was wrong to seat a party that big. That is why people are saying they had a right to eat there too. Same meaning just different words. I am sorry the wait was that long.
