Christine & Mike's Wishes PJ ~ October 2013

Hi! I'm following along! I had Pamela as my planner and Jessica as her assitant and they were both great! We actually just did our planning session over the phone (used all our vacaction days for the wedding) and she got exactly what we were thinking and the end result was amazing. They were great! Jessica was always quick to respond to emails too!

Subscribed! Excited to see how your wedding planning goes - you picked the same venues my fiance and I are looking at (but for 2014)! Great minds think alike. ;)

Love the dresses you picked!

That's so good to hear! I really haven't heard much about either...but so far I have no complaints, and I'm happy to know they are working out well for you!

That's so exciting!! When are you thinking of getting married in 2014?? And also have you started a PJ? It's also fun to read PJs about the same places you are using!!

Sorry I've been absent for a little...been a busy week with the holidays!! I've just gotten back to NH after being in PA for the week with my family so I'm ready to give an update....I'll start with I FOUND MY DRESS!!! (i'm super excited as you can see!)

Ok Ok...I'll back up a bit. So I mentioned I heard from my wedding planner's assistant on Friday on my way to PA, but then on the following Monday they sent me my whole planning kit already! It just got me so excited to see all the options, and I'm so ready to start planning even though it doesn't feel like I can do too much until the actual planning session.

So I've been looking through the planning kit a little bit, and going over the budget with my parents...who are being more than extremely generous with helping us out with the wedding. But nothing much has really been decided yet as far as the planning kit goes.

But I'll get onto the good stuff now..wedding dress shopping!! Ok so I went shopping with my mom and my younger sister (who is also my MOH). We started on Wednesday and went to two places. The first place we went to was so nice because they really helped me feel at ease and helped me try on each dress style and material. I thought I really liked two of the dresses I found there, but then I went to the next location and fell in love with 2 completely different dresses! So the pattern basically went like that....with each new location, I fell in love with a new dress. I went to two more places on Friday, and two more on Saturday. So after I was finished with my last appointment on Saturday I was basically between two dresses....one that was a little more simple (which compliments by style taste...I'm a pretty simple person) but the other dress was more of what I was picturing for a Disney Wedding. I kept saying I wanted sparkles and the "wow" factor...but I kept seeing dresses with lots of sparkle and although I LOVED them, I just kept coming back to the more simpler dress.

So Saturday after my last appointment we went back to the place we saw on Friday that had the more simple dress, and stopped in. Luckily right when we got there they had a cancelation and said I could try on the dress again. The woman helping me was like "I was going to call you cause I just kept seeing you in this dress!" So I tried on the dress again and that was it!!! Because the overall dress was a little more simple then I thought it would be, we decided to compliment it with a long veil to match the long train...which I absolutely love now!! I just keep picturing me with the long train/veil on the GF stairs...and walking into the stairs at ADh for our reception!! So now onto the pictures....!!!

I'm just so in love with my dress, and can't wait to see it in my size...it was obviously a little big on me. Apparently though it's coming in from Spain and can take up to 8 months :(

Also, at the last location we stopped in, they didn't really have any bridal dresses I loved and we had no intention of looking for bridesmaids or mother of the bride dresses but we decided to browse anyway. Well my mom found this one dress that was absolutely perfect! They only had one left and it was in her size...was the same designer as my wedding dress...and it was a lighter pink color with silver sparkle on it (and my wedding colors are dark pink, black and silver). We left and she said she'd think about it...but by yesterday we convinced her to get it...and so she did! I found the picture on the designer's site...but I'm not sure the dress my mom had on had such a low neckline...and her's had a scarf with it as well. Either way, I loved the way it looked on my mom and the way she loved it too!

I think I've probably overwhelmed you with enough to read...I'M JUST SO EXCITED TO HAVE FOUND MY DRESS (so I apologize for the rambling.) I will have some questions on how to deal with the planning session though shortly...so stay tuned..

Your dress is BEAUTIFUL!! I love how it's simple, but still has that sparkle that you were looking for. Gorgeous! :)

And I love your mom's dress - she'll look great! Good choices all around. :)

Your wedding dress is gorgeous! Especially from the back with it all spread out and the veil - beautiful!

Your mom's dress is pretty spectacular as well, I'd love a dress like that in my own wardrobe! :goodvibes

Sorry for the long delay between updates, not too much has been happening but the biggest thing has probably been getting my save the dates done. So my fiance and I own our own computer graphic business so naturally I decided I was going to design, print, assemble, and mail my save the dates by myself....well...it was slightly more complex then I intended.

I had them designed, we bought paper, and envelopes. Well we tried printing them first and on the paper we bought they looked like total crap. Then we realized we would have to bend the paper to fit in the envelopes to save money, and when we bent them they didn't look very good. Sooo...I went back to the drawing board and re-designed them. Now they looked better, but it required me to print 120 pages (2 pager per invitation for 60 invitations) and then cut out all the pieces by hand...needless to say my hands were killing me. So then I finally put them all together, and ready to address them....but they no longer fit in the envelopes I bought. So we went on the hunt for new envelopes...and the only place to find them was to order them online (we kinda live in the middle of no where). So now a week past when I wanted to mail them out...I'm still waiting for envelopes. Sooo...hopefully I'll get them out within the next day or so...but in the meanwhile you can have a sneak peak of them:

The save the date has 5 pages (about 6 1/2 in x 4 in) with a smaller save the date card in the front and all tied together with a ribbon.

And is all 60 packets put together:

In addition we have started to plan for all the trips we have to budget for. We haven't made our planning session plans yet, but I did email David's Vacation Rentals to reserved a 1 bedroom at BWV, and next step is to reserve our rooms for the other half of the wedding week. Right now the plan is to go down on a Wednesday and then stay at the Yacht Club for 3 nights, and then the day before the wedding to switch over to BWV for another 3 nights. After that we will depart for our honeymoon (which I'm super excited for...but will cover in another post.)

Other than that not too much else has been happening...mostly getting ready for the holidays and keeping up with work. Mike and I are actually heading to Boston on Thursday - Saturday to visit some of his friends and do some "christmasy" things which should be fun!!

Your save the dates look fantastic and very professional. The DIY projects always seem to end up being about 10 times more work than originally expected, haha (I can totally relate). But when they look so good, it seems to even out in the end!

Totally didn't notice this before! Sorry! April 2014, most likely April 26th. Haven't started a PJ yet but I plan to when I'm on vacation in a couple weeks, since then it'll be closer to when we make The Call to Disney! Super excited! :) I'll let you know when I make one. :)

Also I love your Save the Dates! That's awesome that you included all of the information for your guests. :)

Thanks so much for all the comments!! I'm still a little sad because I haven't actually yet been able to send them out...I was first trying to figure out the postage...then I went today and the post office's internet wasn't working or something so I couldn't actually buy stamps unless I had cash (which I didn't have on my at the moment).

I'm about ready to just take them with me when I go home for the holidays next week and just hand deliver half of them...it would save money! haha

Hi!
your pictures are beautiful, and I love the look of your save the dates! My wedding is only a few days before yours, the 7th! I'm looking forward to seeing how your planning comes along! :)
