for check ups even when your not sick, or do you have to be on death bed ?

I was a death bed type of person but last few years I go to Doctor on a regular schedule

Please women, at least visit your gyno annually. I skipped one year. 2008. Felt sick in 2009 at Disneyworld, female type issues. Left a day early. After visit and pap found out I may have cancer. They did biopsies and I did have cancer.
Uterine and cervical.
I am fine now.
But wonder what would have happened if I hadn't skipped a year.

Yep That one is Mandatory for me because I chose to take the pill

I was a death-bed patient, but then I became diabetic. Now I go for that every six months, plus the eye doc, plus the dentist. You know what? It's no big deal. We guys aren't much for going to the doc, but when it's a regular thing it becomes routine. I found some nice docs which helps a lot. I seldom get the flu or infections, so I don't usually need to see the doc other than the regular checkups.:)

Regular doctor once a year for an oil change, every six months for A1C check, rheumatologist every 8 weeks for medicine check and blood work, eye doctor once a year, dentist twice a year.

I will fudge on the eye doctor and dentist but never the rheumatologist.

I have so many specialist, ENT, Cardio, Rhumatolgist, Gyno, that I don't even have a regular MD. I see all of the others every 3-4 months.

My dr won't see you for sick visits unless you have had a well visit in the past 2 years. She said they started it to get people to get check ups.

Our health insurance now pretty much forces us to get a yearly physical. If we get the yearly physical, we qualify for a lower deductible (still ridiculously high, but lower than what it would be without the physical).

:rotfl:, anit that a sign of the times

I go to the gyno once a year, optometrist once a year, dentist twice a year.

For everything else, I go as needed.

To the PP who had cancer -- I'm so glad they caught it and I'm so glad you're better now!!!!

I go whenever I need to. Same with taking my daughter. If I can't get in to see her doctor the same day we head to the urgent care clinic which is like an ER. I have MS so I don't take chances when it comes to my health. Of course, if I had to pay to go to a doctor it would be a different story. I know for sure I wouldn't be getting my yearly MRI and cat scan.

The last time i saw a doctor for a check up/physical the doctor couldn't figure out why I was there because I had no complaints. I thought you were supposed to go every year...

I go a lot but mostly because I suffer from chronic blood pressure problems and I need to be monitored constantly. I do get regular tests done too - I think that it's wise to be careful.

Unless I'm in pain beyond level 7 of 10, am sick for more than a week, or have a problem that lasts more than 14 days then I go. Otherwise I can't afford to spend money on going to the doctor if I don't have a legit health problem or issue to be seen for. I'm part of the 99.9% of Americans who can't afford health insurance.
