11/17/12 It's a Magical TEXAS Thanksgiving with the Mouse!

Okay, I know I've read about all this before - but now that it is getting close nerves are kicking in and my memory is falling out.

Most cruise ships when you board they try to direct you to the buffet. However, does DCL have a sit down place open for lunch too?

In our last 4 DCL there has been a sit down lunch available. I believe it has been in Parrot Caye

This will be my first time on the Magic but the Wonder doing the Mexican Riviera last year had Beach Blanket Buffet (Topsiders on the Magic) and Parrot Cay open for lunch. We ate at Parrot Cay. Both were buffets. This was the only cruise we didn't have lunch at the buffet on the top deck. We have always gone to Cabanas (on the Dream) or BBB.

This is our first with DCL - but on other cruises the buffet was always a madhouse so we went with the sit down places. Being DCL & Thanksgiving, I suppose both will be super crazy packed though.

I'm not worried about food/eating exactly - just the being able to move around, stay together, etc.

I think Disney does a pretty good job staggering the times when people are allowed on. I've never seen an issue with crowding except on the Dream where Cabanas is a mess. It's not actually a buffet but stations and it confuses everyone.

This is true. At Parrot Cay they will most likely tell you that there is a wait. Take the wait, it's less than five minutes. And then you'll have a server to help get your drinks for your table, even though the dining is still buffet.

If any of y'all check in this am, please pray for my friend Kathryn and her family. Her DH has misplaced his birth certificate, so if he could be divinely inspired with its location in enough time for them to reach port, that'd be great.
They already looked everywhere last night and have pretty much given up hope on cruising. After getting FE stuff, packing, etc.
This will be their first cruise ever.

I wanted to say thank you for everyone that participated in the FE exchange. It was really special watching the faces of my DDs light up whenever they saw that there was something in our FE! It really, truly added something magical to our vacation. And what creative people you all are! Very special & thoughtful. Thank you so much!

They made it onboard without one.
Believe it or not, border people and DCL both said we don't care if they don't care, but you'll need one to get back into the country...so his mom rush ordered one here while they were on the cruise.
Off to check Facebook to see if they made it back in today.
Yep they're back!
