Ever find a real Rembrandt at Goodwill? My lucky week!

Yep. I found a real signed Rembrandt at Goodwill this week. I paid less than $4 for it but didn't honestly know what it was until I got home and researched it.

OK ok ok so it's not a painting but it IS a very large signed Rembrandt metal mesh art deco design lamp shade.
It's one of the biggest shades the company made and it's beautiful. I do admit however to never having seen a metal mesh lamp shade before and really didn't know they existed.

Going to be fun to find out what I'll be able to actually get for it when I resell it! ::yes::

Did anyone else find good stuff recently at their local thrift shop?

The thrift stores have been rather disappointing lately. I cant wait to see what they end up with after the holidays.

Sounds like you got an awesome deal.

What was the shade used on? Candles, some sort of fire lighting?. Just wondering.

Keep us posted on how much it is worth. I am trying to picture exactly what it is you found.

Is it this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-Sig...=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

That is exactly what this is! Very similar pattern too. What's fun about seeing them on eBay is I know that the prices/values trend quite low...people sometimes nearly give away their stuff! Selling it outright should double/triple/quad or more the eBay price.

Oh and thankyou for finding that pic. I've found about 20 so far online but that was a new one!

I got a pair of Dansko clogs in my size for $6 this past weekend. Same pair that sells for $120 retail. That's the best deal I have ever gotten.

Well, don't get your hopes up too much.

LOL Party pooper!

Not sure what high hopes would be I guess but having had the experience of buying something for less than a dollar just to turn around and auction it off for $1200 is kinda fun...

Having picked this thing up for less than $5 almost any price I get will be lovely! At this point I'm anticipating being able to get anywhere from $500-$2000 for it but hope I can get a bit closer to a final ballpark price after a bit more research.

Anyone else find valuable items lately?
